This is an incredible scale model railway layout. Every kid's and grown man's fantasy to have such a layout. I love seeing the signals drop out as the train makes its way around the track. Such fun to be able to take the ride from a very small person's perspective.
Glad you enjoyed the layout. The tiny people of the Willow Creek subdivision thoroughly enjoy showing off their territory. Looking at the layout from the perspective of one of those tiny people definitively gives one a different perspective of the model railroad. Thank you for your kind comments and feedback; much appreciated!
Loved the new perspective Rod! It was interesting to see the trackside viewpoint especially as the trains elevation changed. The blooper was a hoot and thanks for including that. (Dan).
Good to hear from you, Dan! Glad you enjoyed the video. Yes, fun to see the layout from a different perspective. Hope all is well. And thanks for your feedback; much appreciated!
thank you beauty detail video on your detailed layout as great watching this video and all-day small problems in the operation all great watching every time
Glad you enjoyed the train ride. Always fun to see the layout from the perspective of an HO-sized person. And glad that the camera was filming when the blooper occurred. An unexpected bonus. Thanks, again, for your comments!
What a great idea! So nice to get such a close view of this beautiful layout - and interesting to see behind the scenes as well. I'm amazed the runaway wagon didn't derail at any point :)
Glad you enjoyed the video. Yes, I, too, was amazed that the camera car stayed upright the entire trip given its speed. Kind of a rough way to test the quality of tracks and turnouts! Ha. Thanks for your feedback; much appreciated!
Glad you enjoyed the ride-along video. When I reviewed the video shot in 2015 by a friend of mine, I figured it was past time to do a new video around the layout. Glad you concurred. Thanks for your feedback; much appreciated!
Great to see another video from you, Tour of layout was great, Amazing how the "blooper" car stayed on the rails especially through the curves with the camera making it top heavy
Thanks, and glad you enjoyed the video. I, too, was a bit amazed that everything stayed on the rails. Perhaps it's a new way to test the quality of laying track and turnouts! Ha. Thanks for your feedback; much appreciated!
Glad you enjoyed the video. The various operations and changes on the layout have already been documented in other videos, but I thought this would be fun to "ride the rails" again. Gives one a different perspective of the layout. Thanks for your feedback! Always appreciated!
Hello Rod, thank you for sharing your RR with many videos to give a view to all aspects of operation and layout. This gives me a very good impressioon what is happening. I wish you and your crews "Good Operating". Best regards, Michael
Thanks for the feedback, Michael. And glad you're enjoying the videos. The tiny people of the Willow Creek subdivision send you best wishes for your operating adventures as well. Thanks!
As always, I thoroughly enjoy your videos. This was a great way to see your layout and the many details you incorporate into your layout. The "behind the scenes" are great too! I missed the blooper but I enjoyed the gondola thrill ride!! Thank you so very much for continuing to share your love of the hobby with us. Yours is reminder to us that with patience, great things can be achieved. Thanks for keeping us motivated!
Glad you enjoyed the ride, both planned and unplanned! Always great to share the Willow Creek with others. And thank you for your kind feedback; much appreciated!
Glad you enjoyed the video. Recording a video at this "HO Scale" level gives a different perspective of the scenery. FYI: The reversing loop at Bucky's Crossing is described in the video "Willow Creek Railroad - Track Routing Changes" (2019), if you're interested in how that loop works now. DCC control of the loops is facilitated by PSX-AR circuit breakers/reversers. Glad you enjoyed the Willow Creek, and thanks for your feedback. Much appreciated!
Ha. Thanks! I actually reran the runaway just to see what would happen if I hadn't caught the car at that point. Turns out, nothing... The track levels out there and the car would simply have run maybe another 2 or 3 feet before stopping on its own. Glad you enjoyed the video.
I only came across your channel a few days ago. Love it all. For me it's the best presentation of how a model railroad is operated. I'm learning a lot and will probably draw heavily on your design for my own N-scale layout. I'd love to know the size of train you designed the layout for. By North American standards your trains are short but they appear very natural on your layout.
Welcome to the Willow Creek! The layout is a small branch line and was designed for trains typically 6 - 8 cars in length plus a caboose. The website shown at the end of the videos will provide you with lots of information about the subdivision. Your comments and questions are always welcomed. Again, welcome to the Willow Creek! Enjoy!
That is a really nice camera. Shows a lot of detail on your beautiful layout. I have a couple of questions. Is the train station canopy scratched built? I noticed several plaques on the wall. Are they model railroad related? Love the blooper. Great video and thanks for sharing. Dave
Glad you enjoyed the layout. Canopy: Walthers Cornerstone Milwaukee Station Train Shed. I added LED lights to the canopy. Plaques: I'm a member of the NMRA and those are my Achievement Program plaques and my Master Model Railroader (MMR) plaques, hiding in the corner of the train room. Glad you enjoyed the video. The blooper situation was a total surprise; glad the camera was recording at the time. Thanks for the feedback and the questions. High greens!
You have such a great layout! I've really enjoyed your videos. Did you scratch build your car floats? Any chance you could do a video covering the details of each?
Glad you've enjoyed the videos. As for the car floats, the float in Bucky's Crossing is a Frenchman River resin kit. The car float on the Concorde Branch layout is scratch-built. Nothing complicated: I took a wood board and shaped it to the car float shape, then laminated a sheet of styrene to the top of it. The styrene top made it easier to add the track and other details. The track is Code 83 Atlas Flex track with the ties cut off except for the tie plates and spikes. The other details on the float and the float apron are commercial products from either Frenchman River or Sea Port Model Works. Unfortunately, hard to do a video now that both floats are completed and fixed in place on the layouts. But that's the information behind the two floats. Hope that helps. Thanks, again, for your feedback. Much appreciated!
Glad you enjoyed the video. I did check the snow shed. Clearance is not a problem. There's a rail joint right at the entrance to the show shed and the metal wheels on the gondola make a slightly funny/different sound when they hit the joint. You wouldn't notice it normally but I think the microphone on the camera, which was positioned directly over the wheels, amplified the sound and made it come across as if something scrapped. Definitely did not find anything wrong or that needed repair. Thanks for your follow-up and feedback. Much appreciated!

Have watched all your videos and love the design of the Willow Creek. If I had the space, I'd copy it, lock, stock and runaway! Thanks for sharing!!!
Glad you've enjoyed the videos and the fun the Willow Creek has to offer. Appreciate your feedback. Thanks!
Thanks for the update ride on the Willow Creek. As always, the wait was worth it.
Glad you enjoyed the video. Always appreciate the feedback. Thanks!

Great video as always. Wow that runaway sure got some speed up. But it shows you have some good trackwork there!

Thanks, been waiting for another Willow Creek Railroad adventure. This camera ride along was more enjoyable than the one several years ago.
Glad you enjoyed the ride-along video. When I reviewed the video shot in 2015 by a friend of mine, I figured it was past time to do a new video around the layout. Glad you concurred. Thanks for your feedback; much appreciated!
@Vigment13 really enjoy your vids. New to the hobby. You are on my top to list of favorite train channels. Are you still active?

Very enjoyable video, as always. The camera at engineer level show so much more detail.
Glad you enjoyed the video. Always fun to see the layout from the HO person's perspective. Thanks for your feedback!
EXCELLENT as always!

Love the video, I think I need to watch it a couple of more times to see how the reversing loops work. Great layout, and scenery.
