  • Finding it difficult to choose a small portable solar panel for when you're on the go? There are some crucial features you should look for, and this Ecosonique 20w solar panel has them PLUS a unique detached USB Hub.
The separate USB makes the panel itself completely IP67 waterproof, as most solar panels have this kind of USB control-box mounted on the panel, which makes it vulnerable to heat-soak and rain, which can damage the electronics inside.
This detached design also greatly increases the distance between the charging device and the solar panel, and is great for when you want to use the device while it's charging 👍 (Note that you should try to keep the USB box covered, to protect it from sun & rain. I showed it exposed in the video just so you could see it better).
The other standout features include a tri-fold design that allows the panel to slide into a backpack easily, and even when folded it is barely thicker than half an inch! And it only weighs about 1.5lbs.
The solar panel is also protected by an ETFE coating, which is superior to PET coatings found on many small (mini) solar panels. To keep the size and weight down, no kickstands are found on this panel, but the ETFE coating does feature a "dimple" design that helps the panel catch sunlight even when the panel isn't properly aligned to the sun (laying flat).
If you don't want to use the USB outputs, you can skip the USB box and output power directly from the panel, just like a full-size solar panel (super cool). Output is rated at 19v and this can be connected to any Power Station.
While USB works great for charging small devices like a smartphone, larger devices might need more power than this panel can provide, especially if sunlight is limited. I always recommend getting a power station, as you will get more power from the solar panel, it will work better even in cloudy conditions, and give you power even when the sun is down. Look for a power station with MPPT charging.
The Jackery 160 shown does not have MPPT but still works good and is better than direct USB output in many circumstances. The Jackery is an old model and I don't recommend it unless you don't plan on using the AC inverter - as it is modified sine wave and not a clean "pure" sine wave like most newer power stations. And the USB output is limited to only 30w, whereas most newer models have 60w or even 100w USB. But the Jackery 160 is only 3.5lbs and does make a nice companion to this Ecosonique Solar Panel. I had both in my backpack with plenty of room to spare!
Big thanks to all of my subscribers and thank you for watching!😁

on the large panel 100 w that little controller has 60 watt output speed charge and usb c and a. I havn't seen the inside but it seem like a really good controller in high quality plastic. Im very impressed by the quality, you also get 100 watt out on the large panel, its actually rated for 120 and not 100
