I really wanted to say thanks for the step by step directions. I did another pattern for a child's coat and was a little confused throughout. I also didn't realized how new this pattern was, but I accomplished and completed. Well I have to work on the buttons. I am very proud of myself. Thanks!
WOW❣️❣️your video is amazing.. I sew a little, simple things, because sewing pattern were so confusing for me.. so what I do is go to thrift stores buy a skirt or something and take apart and use it as a pattern..but after watching your videos and learning how patterns work i’m eager to go buy a pattern for a dress and try it. Thank you so much for your wonderful videos and instructions.👏🏼👏🏼❤️❤️❤️💕
This tutorial inspired me as well. I am a beginner when it comes to sewing garments, but I think by watching this video as I go along, I could probably do a decent job!
Using premade garments is an excellent way to start sewing! When doing simple skirts and dresses that way that's essentially what the pattern would be plus maybe a facing. Get patterns but definitely keep deconstructing too!
Hi @Dee-cg2fx I had the same issue and just made a fold so that it fitted in. 😊 I am on my number two jacket and are gonna make a third for my. I have made them all with a lining of two-sidet teddybear quilt. It was challenging at times😉 and the fabric is a thick camo. My adult son got the first one and he loves it now that the temperature is close to -15 celcius ❄️
I love this jacket I won't be able to get it till our winter next year here in Australia, but will definitely be making it thank you so much your sew alongs are so easy to watch and understand, love Wendy
Great job. I have this pattern, but was hesitant about making the jacket. After watching you wiz through this garment, I believe I can do this. I was especially concerned about the zippers. Again thank you.
Hello - Love this jacket - I feel so inspired - could you please let us know the fabric source and interfacing used. I live in area with out good fabric stores and would love to be Able to order from Mood. Thanks Happy Holidays
@@marinelab I put a lining in mine I think I figured out how to do it LOL but I only put it in the back and in the chest not in the arms but I just cut out the same exact pieces for the front and back without the pockets and I just sewed them together alone with the tutorial and it came out great I use a similar fabric so I don't know how it would turn out with like a thicker or a different fabric
Am so loving your tutorial on the making of the wonderful field jacket. Thank you! I do want the pattern but our Spotlight here in Malaysia is out of stock. Sigh…I would so want the pattern and to sew the jacket so badly.
Hi love love your sewing, just want to know, I have this pattern, would I be able to use lining fabric to line this jacket, if so do I cut all the lining same as the pattern, also I want to be able to quilt the jacket, is this the right pattern for me to use. Thanks again for your time, love watching all your videos. This is my first time trying this💓
Hi All. I have a question?? I am at the collar/zipper stage. I am off by two inches. My neck is two inches bigger. I cannot figure out why. What i did to correct this, is I took two inches from the center back and all is well..... so far. I am just wondering if anybody had this issue????
wondering about a lining, only in hood, warm quilting lining, is this jacket for warmth or keeping warm rain out love the pattern I have very tall family and always needing a longer sleeves, longer coat
Would you please do a video showing us how to resize patterns for adults into clothes for kids and toddlers? I'd love to make the men's patterns you had up on Sew Sew Def for my son. He'll be 3 in March and I have so many ideas for him. I just need to make the patterns the right size.
Yes, just a regular sewing machine, they all do the same thing. Nearly all her stitches are straight stitches. I have a $40 Ikea sewing machine and I was able to make a similar coat (and I have very, very basic skills). I made a lot of mistakes but eventually got it right. I first did it on an old curtain I had for practice.
I got this pattern a while back and now watching the instructions I see there is no lining, which I didn't notice but assumed it was obvious to have it included. Rather disappointing but thanks for the detailed follow along.
Hi I made this pattern for a male and I went by the measurements and it was so big on him.....is it just designed to be bigger or am I doing something wrong
You go by the finished garment size of their bust /chest size... I'm usually a XL but with this I was a M way off lol and it fits perfectly... and with in the pattern you may have to lengthen or shorten peices where it says so ❤❤
My instructions/envelope did have the 12 in zipper but I feel it was too small. It never met the dots, not even close. Also, my collar was two inches smaller than the neck. Was I supposed to omit the placket from the front before cutting?

I already purchased the pattern and my material. can't wait to start sewing it together and by the way I got camouflage for the coat!!
Love the fabric, the jacket is nice for those semi chilli days with a nice turtleneck sweater on. Nice Tutorial..

You make it look so easy!🤗
Great jacket... love the ending shot of the finished garment 🧥
Love the Coat, Thanks for doing your sew alongs, they are very informative and very helpful. Love it.
I used elastic because I like the permanent gather for my waistline instead of fussing with a tie. It works too. This was an easy coat I love it!
Love the fabric and how detailed you were with the instructions and I also just bought this pattern 😍😍😍😍😍
This is a beautiful jacket and you make construction look so easy!

I'm so glad you did this sew along, I would have skipped the underlap....lol Thank you Queen watching more I really need to join your sewing school...
Love this so much! I just made coats for my kids so now it's gonna be my turn!
The best part about this pattern is there is no gathering of the sleeve. Great pattern.
Great video, I actually bought this pattern today ❤ I'm thinking about adding elbow pads, lining maybe, a collar stand if there's not one already.
Luv it. I love the fabric and color too...😍
omg this fabric is life!!! i need this in my life
Loved this tutorial Mimi! Very detailed and simple! Thanks so much 💜✨
My Native Sister. Family. You are rocking the world. Blessings. Mother Earth thanks you

Love your tutorials. This is one I will work my way up to. I really like this Jacket.
I need this pattern!! Omg love the fabric!! I’d love to get something similar but all black! Yes I’m boring lol
Yelitza Rodriguez I’m thinking black too and no black is not boring! You have a classic style 😊
Maybe you can put yellow ribbon, like if you were makong the opposite of this...😊
Great job. I have this pattern, but was hesitant about making the jacket. After watching you wiz through this garment, I believe I can do this. I was especially concerned about the zippers. Again thank you.
LOVE this pattern!!! Great Job
Mimi...Much love to you.. I enjoyed this video too. I'm going to make it as well. You taught it so clearly.....Peace.
Got this pattern and I can’t wait to work with it

I like this pattern but I think I'll put a lining in mine.
I want to line it too, I jus need to figure how.

Beautiful!
Love this vidio
Learned alot on this one
Very good. I am going to make this
Seriously!!!! This is pretty thorough.... I'm contemplating this🤔
Do you use a stay stitch on the sleeve caps? For me, stitching on sleeve caps help guide the sleeve shape around the arm holes.
Hay Mimi. I’m excited about doing this pattern. Just waiting for the fabric the arrive 🎉 I hve a question I wanted to line my jacket. Can I do this
The jacket is beautiful
You can slow the video down in your settings, also her IG has more pics.
Those nails tho! (Ok....back to the video)😁
Lovely!
Mimi....what fabric is that?😍
I love the hood
Awesome!!!!

Yes 😁👍
@@judywatson2859 you did? Both my front pieces were cut the same. I think one side should have been minus the placket. The dotted line.
Where did you purchase the fabric?? Absolutely beautiful!!!
Oak fabrics. But they are out of this color until Jan. 11. They do have the other 2 colors in stock and will send you a swatch for free.
Can you tell me what type of fabric she used for this jacket. Thank you
Hallo from Germany😃
wondering about a lining, only in hood, warm quilting lining, is this jacket for warmth or keeping warm rain out
love the pattern I have very tall family and always needing a longer sleeves, longer coat
Excellent

What kind of fabric is she using?
Hie Mimi G. Luuuuurv your sew alongs. What type of sewing machine did you use in the video?
Would you please do a video showing us how to resize patterns for adults into clothes for kids and toddlers? I'd love to make the men's patterns you had up on Sew Sew Def for my son. He'll be 3 in March and I have so many ideas for him. I just need to make the patterns the right size.
Her online school has a children’s garment section.
Will you sew a dope of skims lounge wear
The only thing I don't like about patterns is that the seams are usually just pressed open. Give me finished seams lol
She serged the edges.. And it's always the maker's choice on how to finish the seams, patterns just give suggestions 🤷🏾♀️
Very nice job - could you let us know the fabric source and item number ? Also where can I find how you did your marking ?
You can find another RUclips video that shows you how to mark or sign up for her online sewing school.
Use a fabric marking pen or marker. They either wash off or fade naturally. I think in the description there were links to beginner videos
Wow great! So are you using a regular sewing machine for this?
Thanks
Yes, just a regular sewing machine, they all do the same thing. Nearly all her stitches are straight stitches. Hello, I'm not finding the pant sew-along. Am I missing it?
It’s not up yet
@@stonecrestquilt thanks!
I know I'm late to this party, but I'd like to know what fabric you used to create the coat in this tutorial.
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Could you possibly do a sew along tutorial for simplicity 2341 please
I got this pattern a while back and now watching the instructions I see there is no lining, which I didn't notice but assumed it was obvious to have it included. Rather disappointing but thanks for the detailed follow along.
❤
I’m guessing she is making the male version fastening?I’ll continue to watch
is A and B the same jacket B is just longer ?
Yes
Say hi to Mama
Hi I made this pattern for a male and I went by the measurements and it was so big on him.....is it just designed to be bigger or am I doing something wrong

The pattern instructions/envelope omit a mention of the 12" zipper: two trips to the haberdashery store. Please amend for future printing.
My instructions/envelope did have the 12 in zipper but I feel it was too small. It never met the dots, not even close. Also, my collar was two inches smaller than the neck. Was I supposed to omit the placket from the front before cutting?
Added S9052 to my 'urgent next to sew' : UNTS ! ~ L
Does anyone know what types of Fabric she used?? Im a newbie at this 😅
HELP. how much was the seam allowance on the center back?????
A G commercial patterns always allow 5/8” seam allowance unless otherwise noted.
