- At Film My Run we love the Beachy Head Marathon and we've done it almost every year since 2014. 2022 was my eighth Beachy Head Marathon. But there are two secrets that most people don't know about this glorious marathon. One of which was rectified this year and the other is a post marathon treat you won't find at many other marathon events.

My first Beachy Head marathon. An absolute beaut! 😍
I reckon you can take 30 minutes off that time next year.
Beachy Head was my first marathon and almost exactly the same time as Stephen! It's a great run - except for the seven sisters - didn't like them much! 😂

A couple of zwifters have already expressed an interest for next year 😃 maybe make it another irl meet 👍 it could suit a few zwifters with the different distance options 💪

It's one of the best marathons out there, done it myself 3 times but couldn't do it this year due to work commitments, I will be back next year though, beautiful run.

Was so gutted to miss it due to an injury i picked up the tuesday before, still not run nearly 2 weeks. Searching for another marathon to do, thinking the steyning stinger or 3 forts.
Either Steyning Stinger or Three Forts are great ones to do in Sussex. Done them both a few times. Stinger usually has the nastier weather but it's also faster with slightly less elevation.
I love the Beachy Head. I actually saw you for the first time there, but was too shy to talk to you :-)
Could not do it this year because my Mum unfortunately passed away :-(

Yes, sausage rolls, tea and coffee and cake!! The 17 mile aid station is a classic!
How do you train for this marathon? Please any tips… lots of hill work of course but I wonder if it’s beneficial to approach it like an ultra with back to back long runs. I would like to do my first trail marathon.
It is actually a very runnable marathon. Yes train for incline and also do not neglect decline. Descents will trash your legs more than the uphill. But also do your normal speed work and yes back to back long runs can’t hurt.

My 1st Beachy Head and i absolutely loved it ….. omg I can’t believe I could of used the pool afterwards I’m also a swimmer n that would have gone down a treat ! Maybe next yr ! Thanks for alovely little recap it was only 2 weeks ago but feels so much longer ! 🫶
Thanks Clair. Yes, as I said in the video, the pool is a little known secret. To be honest I have done Beachy Head 8 times and only used the pool two or three of those. And I think I've only had the free food once or twice as well!!
