Great show and I agree with you about the character who plays Billy on the billy the kid show on mgm. He doesn’t even crack a smile or no jokes. I came to know of billy through a book my grandmother gave me and watching young guns and this new show I like just wish they would of gave billy more charisma

Another great show, James. Sorry I was driving through it and unable to make a nuisance of myself in the live chat as usual. I'll have to redeem my Nasty Dude reputation next week. Nice fireplace, I must say, and thanks to Mel for that!

Something kind of cool. I picked up the cardigan from the croquet picture for myself. Mine is blue and the stripes yellow. I’m pretty sure the one in the photo would’ve been red.
Even better, I recently got myself a .41 thunderer shopkeeper style. In great shape. Ser #31108. I’m literally in love with it

@@chasingbilly on the pocket watch photo, hard to say if it’s Billy. But it looks exactly like the photo of the guy standing next to a chair with his hand resting on it. Cool photos no matter what

Nice pick up on both the cardigan and the Thunderer. I saw a few almost mint, original Colt 1877s one of the auction houses had on display at a show last weekend in Phoenix. There were at least two with the factory cardboard boxes, which is remarkable given the age.

@@Rollin_L that’s amazing someone kept the boxes alive this long. I have no box for mine but I did get the factory letter with it. Currently hunting down ammo. I don’t really plan to shoot it. But in my head, I need it🤷‍♂️.

@@DBxCooper That letter is a great thing to have. And you MUST have ammo, regardless. I've not had any originals, the closest being a 2nd Gen SAA, which I wish I'd kept given today's values. I'm mostly a WWI-WWII collector, but just beginning to go more in the "old west" category and starting with the modern repros. I may hunt for some 1st Gen SAA or an 1877 at some point. Not to mention a Winchester or two.

Yeah, Billy had no gun, also the gun in the tin type was for sure not a thunderer or lightening...and i seem to remember that in Garretts report of the firearms that Billy took from the Lincon jail break that the pistols were 44s Perhaps Coe or someone may mention this. Also it was common to use the same calabur in your pistols that you used in your winchester rifle .So you were not carrying two or three types of ammo. This makes sence given Billys ..or Billies( as he spelt it) rep as one who practiced/trained a lot.
We don't know the calabur of his rifle...but lets assume it was 44 or 45 and then theres the mention of him prefering 44s and the tintype.
So the ONLY EVER mention of a "self cocker" was by Garrett after Billy was killed.
This sounds like a plant to me( police plant in modern parlayance)
The gun seems like one carried as a backup and for someone who could not use a single action proficiently.
    For sure a plant.

The only way to decipher the tintype is as follows : look at nose look at mouth with buck teeth look at detached ear lobes look at eyes look at general shape of jaw chin and face ,do not look at it as a photo because its a terrible photo of a drunken stoned subject ,i believe the sitting photo is billy ,,based on the nose the mouth showing buck teeth the eyes also , the other photo which i believe to b billy is the standing by the chair photo based on ears nose mouth covering buck teeth , billy lived anywhere from 19-22 years to think theres just one photo is certainly absurd , fyi there were 4 tintypes for 25 cents one for dan dedrick one for deluvina one was found on his dead body which garrett took as his own and the fourth was given to the illustrated police news in 1880 while bonney was in jail as they did an article on him ,in many circles it is believed deluvina was his girlfriend Based on her washing the body giving it a wake calling him her little billito saying shes glad she outlived everyone who helped murder billy walter noble burns in his 1926 book actually spoke to deluvina and paulita and many ft sumner residents but how he changed the truth around to cover for people we ll never know
