I worked for AAA for a few weeks before i got sick of it, all the want to do is up sell everything, not fix things just get you to buy batteries and all
Funny I just worked on a car today and when I pulled down the skid plate there was the battery hold down sitting on top of it. Sure enough fresh AAA branded battery under the hood free as a bird
That Olight headlamp is amazing. I am pretty sure that is the same Perun 2 I have, and it has been absolutely spectacular for well over a year. I even lost it in a customer's yard once and it sat outside in the rain for almost a full month, still works perfectly fine.
It's something you learn quick as a professional repair technician, "DIY" guys constantly screw up repairs and then they make your life hard by not being truthful from the start. Have spent many hours of my life chasing my own tail because someone snipped a wire they shouldn't have. One of the worst offenders are "DIY" brake jobs, just about every other day I have to fix one of those.
I don't know what 'Merican "AAA" technicians need as a starting qualification, but here in New Zealand, to even get employed as a Roadside Assistance officer, one has to have as a a minimum completed the standard 4 year apprenticeship training to become a Certified Mechanic. Plus one must have the higher extra qualification "A Grade" (in US you might call them an "Advanced Master Technician"?) They really know their stuff. It's a shame if Road Assistance Officers in other countries are not as well trained and experienced.
They're subcontractors and not really AAA employees... That's why it's a hit or miss situation. I have AAA plus, but with tire changes and battery swaps, I'll do them on my own
I knew, and was installing car batteries when I was 6, my father, and my cousin taught me, everone should know how to do it, so they can do it themselves.
AAA told a customer of mine they needed a starter, battery, AND an alternator. I was super suspicious. Got there and they just had lots of corrosion on the terminals, one was loose and the other was cracked. 🤦🏾♂️ Sometimes those folk have NO clue what they're talking about.
They subcontract everything so none. I had a guy try to jump start my caddy from the battery in the trunk when it has jump points under the hood, he had the battery and wanted to replace it I declined drove strait to autozone and swapped out my self with their loner tools. The batteries are supper bad quality as well never had one out live its warranty. My ford escape hybrid had a AAA battery that died a week ago got a jump went to the auto parts store when I got there I saw that the negative post was coming free from the battery. AAA is great for a tow and if you have the higher tier membership the free gas. I got to Vegas with my 4 calls once for free, I had a week left in my year needed to use them up .
@@marioga90 You always want to send a charge to a battery with a direct connection, otherwise you risk a fire. He did the right thing and you did the wrong thing abusing your membership for free gas. Auto part stores don't sell high quality batteries, you really don't have any idea what you're talking about.
Hey Ernest, I've also seen them with the rubber covering torn off, and washers in between the terminals, and all kinds of mess. I've even seen the cable ends replaced with ring terminals and a bunch of washers and a regular hardware bolt forced in to make new threads lol
What a waste of time to put battery terminal posts on the side - just stick with the tried and tested method... standardization on top post is vastly superior.
Ernest just proves it was plain lazybones or ignorant to have loose or dirty connections to the battery No more pride in their work and if that person claims lack of training, he should've not been working in the field

Always love your videos Ernest, you get the job done with a sense of pride, and have old school ethics and integrity

Couldn't agree more! never have to worry about mine
After watching channels like Just Rolled In, I'm trained to recognize "another shop" or "AAA" as the customer did it but doesn't want to admit it
haha. didn't think of that 😂

I work for AAA .. and yes this indeed does happen.. then the member ( customer) ask me what happened…
I worked for aaa for many years and wouldn't recommend a aaa battery

All they do is tire change and battery.
Wow...
Like that headliner
Thanks!
Yea figured it was just the connection. Doubt it was a bad bat. Check the easy stuff first. Job well done.
well done,good job

Alas, most are oblivious under the hood... Vehicles are just appliances to them to turn the key and hold the steering wheel
Very nice
How much did you make?
Good work 👍can you work on my car I need a flex plate on my 1970 monte carlo

man those sidepost batterys like on this car are a bitch to do lol did one on my mothers aztek and I hated it lol
yeah the worst is stripping them out. I see them overtightened a lot.

Everyone should know where all the fluids go in there proper place..
Change a tire...

AAA person might have hooked it up wrong out of ignorance... they are not mechanics. They get dozens of calls every day.

@@ricebikethey prolly get paid min wage.
I wish you would stop making click bait, negagtive titles. You're better than that. I like the honest Ernest from years ago.
How is this clickbait? Says exactly what happened? Is it because the battery wasn't fried and blew up?
