    Finally some coverage,
    Maybe the Canadian/provincial health care system will get better testing than these basic ELISA and western blot tests.
    Canadian testing finds less than 50% of the Lyme (Borellia), and almost none of the other diseases carried by ticks. Rashes only appear in a moderate percentage of individuals bit by a tick with Borellia (Lyme).
    Out of the 8 common dangerous strains of Borellia commonly carried by Canadian ticks, I am pretty sure our labs only test for 1 of the 8 strains. That's a severe mistake. That means that there is a very good chance you could test negative, even if you actually are positive for Lyme. As well, a single tick can carry several Borellia strains at once..... we should be testing people who get bit for all strains of Borellia, as well as Tularemia, Leptopirosis, Anaplasma, Babesia and some other illnesses.

    • @dimitar297
      @dimitar297 Год назад

      We should make testing mandatory now that climate change is accelerating the promulgation of tick varieties. People who don't consent should be shouted down and called racist. But only if we have a product to sell.

    Now it's the deadly, renamed "backlegged tick".

      Once it warms up ticks get very active. There are tons of birds already back from the south including sea gulls and ticks come with them, Deer also have ticks which can't wait for spring. Not too long ago I found a horse fly alive in the snow meaning the warm temperatures had brought them out of hiding. You mustn't be to aware of the natural world because everything comes alive in spring. Its good to get ahead of the curve don't you think.

      @@professorakiba434 you can’t catch Lyme from a tick that bit a deer. Deer are immune and pass that immunity onto the tick.
      Lyme is spread predominantly by coyotes and their presence is the biggest indicating factor in the prevalence of Lyme disease in a region. They act as a reservoir for the disease.
