Thank you so much for this video. I always hated cutting my dogs nails. This will help with my new puppy and whatever color his nails are. Love your videos!!
Thank you for this! I get so nervous cutting my Gracie's nails and I think she knows I'm nervous b/c she's super anxious when I try to cut her nails. Black nails scare me to death, so I usually don't cut my Yorkie's nails for that reason. I've been binging your Havi videos & have subscribed!
Nice! I like to use the little ones that you can also use on cats. When I get done I use one of the little metal drum nail grinders from amazon so they don’t scratch me afterwards or if I’m afraid of hitting the quick with the cutter. 💖 Love the the flashlight trick! Mary
msluvtodraw2 yes dremels are awesome but my havis don’t like them 😕 I wish they did because it smooths them out nicely! Great tips! Thanks for sharing!
Wittle Havanese the little one I got from amazon is so quiet you can hardly hear it and it works great! I was skeptical because I do have a dremel and they hated it but they don’t even seem to notice this one. It also has a kind of slot so it makes it easier too. At least you got me to cut their nails today! Lol!
Wittle Havanese this is by no means a professional one but I only do my own dogs and I think it works great and it’s very inexpensive! www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GFBVC98/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
This is helpful thanks! My havanese (recent rehoming) is pretty reluctant to have his nails done and pulls away (maybe a bad experience before we got him?). He has even growled at me so now I am pretty nervous. I was wondering how often you need to cut their nails. Thanks!
My havanese is 2 months old and this will be my first time cutting her nails. I was wondering if I can cut her nails while they're dry of if I have to shower her in order to do it. Thank you!
my dog is a yorkie/chihuahua mix and she has very dark black nails that the flashlight won’t work on. any tips for this? i managed to cut one nail but it splintered a lot since my trimmer is cheap and not sharp enough.
Definitely a table. And someone to assist. The first few times you’ll need to be patient to earn their trust. Try the method I showed with Shya the black and white dog. Moving the paw as a distraction. Lots of praise if they stay still for a trimmed nail. And most importantly you stay calm and confident. They will learn from you and gain trust that way.
Awww the baby snuggles to cute!!! Love my havanese!!!
This is so helpful!! We tried clipping Stormy’s nails and she freaked out which scraped and cut her skin. 😢 This is helpful for a new Havanese owner!
Most helpful of all on youtube I've come across. Thank you. I am going to try.
+K. Whitmire aww. Thank you so much. I’m so glad to read that. Good luck!

msluvtodraw2 hmm. I’ve debated trying a hand five after I cut their nails. Lol. I might try a more quiet one. Share the link if you can. 💜

What is your opinion on using a dremel?

A very slight trim weekly is ideal. Or once a month minimum.

You can cut while dry but after a bath they are definitely softer and easier to cut.

I new trimmer that is sharper. And in the nail cutting video I show the dot method. I recommend that. I use it for brown and black nails here.
I have a 10-week-old Havanese puppy who is very wriggly when I try to cut his nails. Any tips for this?

You can just use corn starch to stop bleeding.
