    I see an important (and very legal) use for the top hangar on the Fatapillar: Hull C/D/E can't land on plannets with cargo, SO, you'd fly up to one in a station like Everus or the like, fly close to the Hull, have some of those MPUV tractor move container (via roof entrance) to the Drake ship, and have the Fatapillar fly it to a surface trading port like loreville or New ABabage, and so on. You can do it the other way around, where if you have a buddy with a hull series (C or higher) the Fattypillar can fly from the land port, and fly a few rounds (it would take about 3 or so) to load a Hull C, and have a tractor ship to move cargo onto the Hull. If the economy works as they say it will, there will be need to transport cargo fromthe big ships (like the larger MISC ships) onto land bases, and this is one of the sips that will do it. Armies of sips like Argo RAFT will too since it can go to a Hull and load the container itself, but ships that load quickkly will be better at this than somethign where you have to load carefully like a C2. I would like to see a MUCH LARGER RAFT type ship from Argo, but not sure if they will make that. I think It'd be cool to have an Argo RAFT like Hull competitor.

    I kinda think they should keep the two sized turrets and the tail turret as quad S3, and give those particular turrets a very high track speed to help swat fighters. Can upsize the three front turrets for the anti large/capital firepower. This would give it a chance vs other caps in a gunfight, but not overly-so while also giving it some fighter screening.
    Naturally the counter argument is they could upsize the side turrets too, citing that it should rely on its fighter in bay for screening and/or an escort ship.

    I think it would be very interesting if the Cat and Ironclad had the same command module. That would make for an interesting set of options, if they created a series of ships that all could use the same command module.

    I've got mixed feeling about the Polaris having bigger guns that can stand up to other capitals.
    On one hand, yes, give me bigger guns! Always!!!
    On the other, it's purpose is to be torpedo corvette. Launch 4 torpedoes at a capital class vessel, destroy it. If you fail to get a kill, run like hell to reposition for another salvo. It's the ultimate capital ship sucker puncher!
    I'd rather have the guns onboard being designed to take out annoying fighters, and the size 10 torpedoes for capital ships.
    But once again, I'll never complain about having bigger guns. lol

    I was SO happy about the Polaris finally being close to flight ready. Been waiting for it since 2016. And CIG goes to show the concept of THE ship I was waiting all along since I backed Star Citizen. So my Polaris is getting melted, on the verge of being released, for this concept that I will have again years to wait for...
    If you look carefully at the comand module, it is the exact same as the Caterpillar. (I should know, I daily drive the Pirate Caterpillar). it is the exact same. There is as well 2 doors on the Caterpillar. One up, one down. it means that once the Ironclad will be implemented, there's a good chance for the Caterpillar to be reworked for it'c command to work too (and JC DID say that, if I remember the video correctly). The ship itself it much bigger though.

    • @Mk_IX_Hawk5690

      If the Ironclad is possible as an upgrade. You could buy the upgrade /CCU, from the next lowest priced released ship, for like $30-100 (whatever is least), to lock the Ironclad price in. Then hold onto Polaris, then could melt on the Ironclad release and apply your CCU obtain at concept price.

      No doubt!! Maybe I’ll get ME KRAKEN!!!! Also I wanna point these 2 things out. Looking at the interior pics of the cargo area, and measuring the 32SCU boxes that are there. I would submit you can fit MINIMUM 12 in the row on that side. Thats 384 scu of cargo. Double that for the top row. Thats 768 scu. Double again for the other side. That’s 1536scu. So that’s a CONSERVATIVE amount. From other internals I would suggest you may get a third layer…. If so…. 2304 scu. Holy crap.
      NOW! The big one. No one has mentioned this anywhere…. But this lands planetside. BOOM! That’s HUGE for gameplay. No Hull’s do that…. Only the Banu and Kraken can. This ship will be golden.

    I think you are way Off in Terms of Cargo on the Ironclad
    As Proof the Hercules C2 boosting about 696 SCU can take 2 Nova Tanks in a Line
    When looking at the Ironclad Assault we can See 2 novas Front to Back but also 2 rows meaning 4 in total in the Cargo size reduced Ironclad Assault which also fits a onboard repair Station
    If take those visual clues into consideration WE can expect somewhere between 1500-2000 SCU of Cargo roughly

    So mana yes men ^^ Polaris took them 8 years. They dont have a clue on how to implement AI blades or NPC gunners. All those big ships are going to be a nightmare, as it was promised you could operate even the biggest ships alone, just not as effective as with real players. I would highly recommend people to wait with their money, until CIG has a clue on what they want to achieve with bigger ships. Perseus is 3+ years and not even started, i guess this will be 5 years + until it arrives.

    • @davewills6121
      @davewills6121 2 месяца назад

      CIG are currently working on the RSI ''Polaris/Perseus/Galaxy'', sharing assets/tech and features across the ships, perseus could be very late 2024 early 2025. Your thinking pre-2016, ship concepts then, were just that, they needed the game to be in a certain place, tech/features/components/gameplay and staffing, 70% were working on SQ42. Ironclad will be possibly 2/3 yrs, could be sooner with the current staffing level and CIG being more focused and organized.

    • @Thor_Asgard_
      @Thor_Asgard_ 2 месяца назад

      @@davewills6121 The latest QnA clearly stated, that only ships are worked on that are named, and the Perseus is clearly not one of them. Also it makes no sense for them, to work on a ship, that hast features, that they dont even know how to implement, like the 2 Auto turrets on the Perseus. I believe what i can see and the pipeline doesent work properly at this point in time for ships that are bigger than a fighter.

    • @davewills6121
      @davewills6121 2 месяца назад

      Your thinking is locked in the 2015 mindset, ships/features/components and development has advanced nearly a decade beyond that limbo period. There'll be no NPC Crew/AI Blades for yrs, although its on the roadmap, CIG is and has always pushed for Group/Org gameplay, nothing in that respect has changed, beyond CIG making it so. Wake up, smell the fresh roses.......and stop reading that feckin LORE.

    • @dawnfire82
      @dawnfire82 2 месяца назад

      You think you're being grounded and reasonable in the face of fanboyism, but you're not. You're an armchair quarterback who has never touched a football, acting like your ignorant cynicism is a badge of wisdom. What you described is not at all how projects work. 'It took them 5 years to build X, therefore it'll take 5 years to build X*!' Nope.
      Simple example from history: It took Ford about a year and 10 months to design and built the Model T car. Thereafter, it took them days to produce, eventually reduced to hours. Then they had multiple plants producing in parallel, producing 15 million cars in 19 years.
      Obvious, right? You'd think so...
      CIG has developed custom tools for virtually the entire length of the project (once they increased the scope of the game and decided existing engines couldn't handle what they wanted to do). They've built from scratch or heavily modified existing tools for their physics engine, their ship design process, their planetary body design process, buildings and settlements, server meshing (which is straight up new technology), and so on. They had to build a motion capture studio. It took them several years to build out their first system but then only a few months to build out others, (e.g. those for Sq42) because the tools were completed. It took them >1 year to make and implement the first planetary river, but then built out others in the next year as a side project because they'd finished the river-making tool (which doubles as a road-laying tool, and probably could be adapted for chasms, as well). Now they're adjusting how water works.
      It's all reasonable assignment of finite resources to different aspects of the project to make it easier as they go. All major game studios do this. Only here, it's a transparent project with a participative public (who complain about **everything**). They've described it as "building the railroad tracks while the train is already going." And I'd add, 'pulling cars of spoiled hobos who want to know why they haven't reached their favorite vista, yet.'
