      @@berniceriebler-4225 Hi Bernice, TwT has done several tutorials on Beaded Cluster Balls. The easiest of them to follow is where I used BIG beads to guide thru. Look for that episode, and other too, on our channel. Good Luck & Be Kind to yourself! These Beaded Clusters can seem so confusing at first…. keep at it, tho, and soon you can relax and enjoy the pattern. Thank you for your comment! 😃

    I’ve just subscribed to your channel. The second I saw what you were making and heard your voice I pushed that bell. I love, love, love that sun catcher. I never thought to check and see if anyone was making these on RUclips. I used to work for a lady at the local market who made sun catchers and sold them. But she only ever made single ones. Your hanging one is stunning and the colours a look amazing. I could just imagine that hanging up near a window with the sun coming in. I’m going to go back through your videos and try my hardest to watch quite a few of them. I’m so happy that I’ve found your channel. Looking forward to your next video. Have a great weekend.

    Beautiful! And great new ideas for making a xtra money, I have for 30 + years made jewelry but in my area it is over crowded with it so some venues have stopped allowing jewelry, traveling is difficult at my age now, 68 so these would be great to start with and once I am established I can bring back my jewelry requiring no more long travel! I also came across fairy gardens made from maps balls, so cute, adding that as well.
    Thanks for the time you spend sharing your great videos.

    That is a very expensive Suncatcher! 😲
    I have been making sun catchers that I hope to sell. I like your bead balls and I will use them. But I could only use one per suncatcher because they would take an entire strand of gems or crystals. They are very beautiful and shiny so they will be the main feature of the suncatcher.
    Thank you!💜😊

      @TweakswithTweek  3 года назад +4

      Hi Heidi, Thank you for your comment. I purchased 20 crystal prism balls online for $17 dollars and I thought that a pretty good value. The rest of the beads for this project were ones I had on hand - I save and sort beads for ‘someday’ use after I complete bead projects. I also make use of old jewelry found at rummage sales and garage/estate sales and have been lucky when family members, who’ve collected costume jewelry over the years and know that I am receptive to receive them, toss their old jewelry in my direction. It ALL comes to some use at some point, I’ve found. The suncatchers that are a single strand are, for sure, less expensive to make than a 5-strand sun catcher… but my oh my… the beauty of the 5-strand sparkle! I love mine. The beaded cluster balls can be made from any round bead. I’ve made wooden ones, pearly ones, turquoise ones. My favorites are the sparkly one, tho! Here’s to hoping you find success in making and selling your creations, Heidi. Good luck!

    Hello! I love your videos! I am wanting to make some of the Sun catcher wind chimes for my best friends. I did noticed you said this one would for inside…what materials do you suggest for an out door one? Just in case one of my ladies would want to put hers outside. I know I’d like one out by my patio. It is so beautiful!

    • @TweakswithTweek
      @TweakswithTweek  2 года назад +1

      Hi Hannah,
      Thank you for your nice comment. The only change you would need to make when putting this Sun Catcher outside is the top piece. The one in the video is made out of MDF which swells up and deteriorates when it gets wet. So just replace that top circle with real wood or plastic and you should be good to go.
      Good luck with your Sun Catcher!

    I have absolutely fallen in love with this craft! I especially like the types of beads you have chosen for this project. I would love to be able to buy these exact beads but I do not know what they are called or where to purchase them. Could you be of any help identifying what kind of beads you used? Are they some type of plastic faceted bead? Do you know where I can purchase them? Thank you so much for any help you can provide! I really want to learn how to make the beaded ball from one of your other videos too!!

    • @TweakswithTweek
      @TweakswithTweek  Год назад

      Hi Carmela, When I create a suncatcher I do my best to stick with glass beads. My reasoning is that not only do glass beads reflect light better, they do not lose their color as sunlight bakes and/or fades plastic beads’ hues. The beads I use can be found at your local craft store, bead store, online, or at antique or garage or rummage sales. I am always on the look-out for beads!
      To make a suncatcher OR a beaded cluster ball, YOU decide what size & what color of beads you’ll use. The patterns are the same to follow no matter which you choose.
      If you’d like to copy the suncatcher in the video I’d suggest going online to see what size/color beads you prefer. I use rondelle or round beads for the clusters. Yet as you string your wire ANY bead becomes an option as long as it can be strung on the wire.
      My preferred wire size is Beadalon .018 size beading wire. It comes in several color options.
      A bead from 4mm thru 18mm fit the wire nicely.
      So you see, Carmela, once you master the cluster ball ( start out with a 6mm - 8mm bead for easier learning & following the pattern ) your options widen as you make choices that best spark the suncatcher vibe that suits you best!
      Gather the materials around you and then have some beading fun! You can do eet! 😄 Thanks for your comments!

    Hi just wondering where did you get your beads from. They are so pretty and I love your sun catcher videos

    • @TweakswithTweek
      @TweakswithTweek  2 года назад +1

      Hi Laura, I am ever on the hunt for beads! Online & in-store are my best bet to find what I need to make my suncatchers. Then garage/yard sales, second hand or consignment stores - all these being good resources to add to my bead collection. Most helpful are family and friends who toss old jewelry they’ve got in my direction as, once folks know you are amiable towards accepting it, they become mindful of sending it rather than throwing it away. For suncatchers my rule of thumb is to use glass beads, able to withstand the effects of heat and sunlight which, over time, alters the look of beads made of plastic. Glass keeps it’s color and sparkle … so I go with that! Thank you for your comment, Laura! Hope you enjoy making your own ‘sparklies’. I’ve found there’s an extra bit of joy that comes with gazing upon a creation that you’ve made yourself! Tweek😁

    Hi! Can i use acrylic crystals?would they also create rainbow effect once they were hit by the sun? Please answer if you know. Hehe wanted to create beautiful sun catcher like yours, but crystals were so expensive!

    • @TweakswithTweek
      @TweakswithTweek  3 года назад

      Hi Zariyah, A shiny acrylic bead would be beautiful. It depends upon the bead and its shape as to how well it reflects light, yes? I understand about the bead cost, fo’sure. Waiting for sales at the craft stores or online, saving finds from rumage/garage/ estate sales, or stopping in at a consignment shop are all ways to magnify your own bead stock supply. Always be mindful of friends and/or family that wish to get rid of old jewelry, as well. Ya never know where that ‘helpful’ bead will be there just when you need it to help create your project. The reason I use glass beads for outdoor hanging projects is that the beads do not cloud, melt or discolor from intense heat and sunlight. Acrylic beads have done that, in my experience. If you use acrylic beads and it shines to your satisfaction, I simply suggest keeping it from harsh outdoor environment. You’ll increase it’s ability to keep shining for you by offering it some protection. The only way to test the rainbow effect of a bead is to hold it up to the sunlight. If you like what you see, go with it! Have fun & good luck! 🍀 Tweek 😃

    I think you may want to rethink your chain at the top. The different weights of each strand will cause the entire thing to hang crooked because of the sliding chain. Each section needs to be cut individually so there is no sliding up and down. Beautiful tho…

    • @TweakswithTweek
      @TweakswithTweek  6 месяцев назад +1

      Hi Debra, Yes, after the wire goes through the pendant, at the start, both sides of the wire then meet and are strung together through all additional beads. When you are done adding beads, add a crimp bead, then curl the wires back into that crimp bead to create the hanger. There ya go!
