The one 'con' is that you can't slide pans around on it. But you can get a pad for your burners from amazon that keeps you from scratching it if you do slide a pan. I cooked on gas for more than 50 years and now love my new induction stove. I wasn't afraid of the cookware requirements as I've used nothing but stainless or cast iron for years now. I'm a bird owner and the gasses let off by hot nonstick will kill pet birds in the house so I threw out all of those things years and years ago. And that pad I mentioned above allows me to use my WWII era cast iron. Being a south Texan I do miss being able to heat up tortillas directly over the flame but a comal works fine. tip: use lower heat with stainless and induction than you might be used to using. You really never need to use really high heat. After 2 months cooking I have yet to have had a reason to turn the burner up even to an 8. I don't mind waiting an extra 30 seconds or a minute, I don't rush around so much that it even matters.

The whole video is about 40 minutes probably, but the time was real when you hit a P for power boost it gave you very quick heating. I don’t work for them anymore, but I can say that particular feature was a huge help when serving 200 guests. Hope that helps.
In my experience it is not 40% faster than gas, more like 25% faster. I compared the time to boil 2 quarts of water in a medium stainless steel sauce pan. The 3000W induction unit at full power took 5 minutes. My Bluestar gas range-top took 6 minutes 30 seconds
I do not like the Haier induction cooktop - had I known that it does not maintain a consistent simmer I never would have purchased it - so upset. Can someone please show me how they get a consistent simmer with out it boiling - stop -boiling - stop and thus food is getting burned
Been using it for some time, literally the worst of the available options. Induction heating is crap. Normal electric is far better. Gas is still best. Anything that needs you to work the pan? With induction, you're shit out of luck. It's inconsistent, you need _just_ the right pans because not even all of the induction rated ones will work right. It's a _mess_. Stay consistent, go with actual heat.
Theres no such thing as 110% power. You can have a 110% increase in something but as far as putting a burner on high, high is as high as a burner can go . Saying you have a burner on 110 % is like saying your volume goes up to 11.
If I am not wrong at frames 2:13 to 2:18 one can see gas fire flames under the burner plate. It all seems a fake for advertising a product that in the end will not satisfy your demands.

All clad cookware which is very expensive. Costco has a 5 ply 10 piece set called Kirkland Clad that looks almost identical for a fraction of the cost.
Induction is much cheaper than gas - in spite of our Canadian gas prices. This is due to the speed of the range. Also the new electrical LED fireplaces are cheaper than gas fireplaces. The traditional wisdom of gas is the cheapest changed. I learned it via induction stove.
Getony You are correct in the clip part of your comment. If you were to see my full demos, you would know I always speak of the cons of induction. They are as follows: one cannot toast a tortilla for a Mexican/Latin dish on the non-existent flame, you cannot roast a pepper or eggplant for baba ganoush and as I said in this “clip”, you will burn something if you think this is a flame as most are used to. I no longer work for those people, but induction is induction for the most part and you can find many affordable units that are not at the luxury level or even counter top portables if you aren’t sure about going the distance. Hopefully that somewhat answers your question. Be well, Tageré Side note: Designer Appliances is a great company. Professionalism means a lot and they are on point and courteous.
Tageré Apple my bad if this is a dumb question but can u grill using an induction? Also to ur tortilla toast comment, would u be able to still “toast” if u use like a square pan? (Again, apology for lack of proper terms)
expressfashionman89 sorry I didn’t see your comment notification until now. Yes you can grill. Cast iron is awesome on induction. It heats up in 4-5 minutes on a 5 or 6. Setting which is about medium heat in correlation to gas settings. I use Lodge brand and recommend it. It’s American made and it’s affordable. Just make sure you have your hood sucking up air for at least 5-7 minutes prior as you can build a bit of smoke if you don’t. The even cooking is what works well with grilling on induction as the entire pan is heating at the same time as gas flames fluctuate and with windows open in Summer the breeze can not effect induction like gas. It’s a phenomenal difference. Yes, you also can toast a tortilla in a pan directly. It works great; it’s just not a direct flame as many authentic recipes usually call for. Any really well built oven should provide the browning for toasting you may be looking for as well. Hopefully that answers your not dumb question 😀
Tageré Apple TYSM for your informative reply Ms. Apple. Is there an induction stove brand that’s “affordable/regular” that can be found at a big box store that you recommend?

After watching this I am certainly glad I don’t have induction! Certain cookware is required, you can’t slide the cookware because you’ll scratch the surface, you can’t see the flame to judge the heat, you can’t use an authentic round bottom wok, so many limitations.
But the speed is amazing. What i have is a regular gas . From amazon i brought a single unit induction which sits on the top of the couter it can be put inside a drawer after use... I use it yo boil water and frying things the speed is like amazing and since its a no name brand single unit its cheep also. Now i am doing more on induction...
All.that power is going out the window. Yes it heats Faster but your killing all nutrients by electromagnetic fields and yes it gets hot faster but you don't need that at all at the cost of 5 times more energy usage.
Apart from rushing through the presentation, Tagere does not mention some of the downsides. It is not as effective as gas or ceramic. Settings up to 8 seem to do nothing. You CAN'T move the pan to one side for a moment to reduce the heat. The hob senses that there is not enough pan in contact and switches off, then take quite a while to get going again. All this stroking of the controls is hopeless for someone with a lot of cooking to do. It is vague and imprecise as well as being slow. I have tried all systems and my advice is - stick to ceramic or gas.
@@kuppdaballsstrokedastaff429 LOL If his microwave is like mine, it can do anything from boil water to broil shrimp perfectly! A steak is no problem at all. Microwaves do amazing things these days! Thank you kindly! She is the best :-)
Thanks to you both! Can’t believe we are at almost 100,000 views.
Would love to feauture this on my channel 😁
As soon as you lift the pan off the stove you lose the induction heat, correct?
Correct, your cooktop will start cooling down immediately. It's the contact of the pan to the cooktop that generates the heat.
hey girl!!!!!!! I just _happened_ to be ur daughter haha😅
110% POWER!

Very nice demo! 😎 Sorry for asking, but what music do you use in your videos? Thx!
Thanks! We purchase tracks from premiumbeat.com :-)

@@WFK2831 Anytime, we enjoy your videos as well! Nice work!
@@DesignerAppliances oh thank you! Never thought someone like you would watch them 😅
You mentioned the quality of steel in the cookware you're using. What brand of cookware is that?
The steel cookware is from Fisher & Paykel and the cast iron pan is Lodge.
1:24 no way it started to fry in 5 secs. Is not that video edited ? :o
She did do a fair bit of swiping beforehand, maybe that warmed it too. Either way pretty impressive
Get a Xiaomi induction cooker with 100 different settings, genuinely different. Setting #1 is a bare simmer.
These induction hobs will play havoc with my Swiss watches…
Been using it for some time, literally the worst of the available options. Induction heating is crap. Normal electric is far better. Gas is still best. Anything that needs you to work the pan? With induction, you're shit out of luck. It's inconsistent, you need _just_ the right pans because not even all of the induction rated ones will work right. It's a _mess_. Stay consistent, go with actual heat.
You have to turn on induction heating for it to work. Pro tip..try using the on button👍
Nothing you stated made any sense. The lady in the video didn't have a problem.
No bullshit, I like her
Theres no such thing as 110% power. You can have a 110% increase in something but as far as putting a burner on high, high is as high as a burner can go . Saying you have a burner on 110 % is like saying your volume goes up to 11.
Some guitar amps do go to 11. It is just a number.
Can't do the wok flip tho
This birthing person was very knowledgeable. Thanks!
so you can make whatever you did on gas for a slight boost in cooking time at how many times the price? don't overcomplicate things.
If I am not wrong at frames 2:13 to 2:18 one can see gas fire flames under the burner plate. It all seems a fake for advertising a product that in the end will not satisfy your demands.
@@miguelnepomuceno3448 don't see it. Try watching on a larger screen, there's nothing there

For the past 30 years Fisher & Paykel pretty much was defined as a Kiwi company who made laundry machines. Guess they've moved on a bit in recent years =)
Very true
very informative i liked the chef not selling cool aid.
I just need to know how to get the thing to turn on and start heating up
Had my finger on power for 20 minutes and it still hasn't turned on i should of stayed with a gas cooker

What is the best induction cookware?
Neff hands down
All clad cookware which is very expensive. Costco has a 5 ply 10 piece set called Kirkland Clad that looks almost identical for a fraction of the cost.
Talking talking talking and not a word about electricity....Is it cheaper or more expensive than gas, as far as your monthly bill?
Gas is much cheaper than electricity here in Canada. Otherwise this looks nice...
Induction is much cheaper than gas - in spite of our Canadian gas prices. This is due to the speed of the range. Also the new electrical LED fireplaces are cheaper than gas fireplaces.
The traditional wisdom of gas is the cheapest changed. I learned it via induction stove.
She's preach'n to the choir
When you get an induction top you will not want to go back i have been using them for years.

Where's the cons? Pure promotion clip
Be well, Tageré
Side note: Designer Appliances is a great company.

Induction 👍👍
Gas 👎👎
Time for a new chefs shirt?
Loved your comment! Internet superheroes are my favorite people. Hope all is well down under. Many Blessings to you and yours!!!
Damn did y’all take this video down?
Apart from rushing through the presentation, Tagere does not mention some of the downsides. It is not as effective as gas or ceramic. Settings up to 8 seem to do nothing. You CAN'T move the pan to one side for a moment to reduce the heat. The hob senses that there is not enough pan in contact and switches off, then take quite a while to get going again. All this stroking of the controls is hopeless for someone with a lot of cooking to do. It is vague and imprecise as well as being slow. I have tried all systems and my advice is - stick to ceramic or gas.
Thanks for the tip!
This one goes to 11

Terrible sales pitch. All that I remember is her repeating 'I don't like induction'.
