stay strong! hello, my name is Annabel and I'm 15 years old. I started my withdrawal when I was 11. I ended up missing months of school and I experienced everything you are going through and have been through, including trying cream withdrawal. What I would recommend is not doing the cream withdrawal until your skin does it naturally (by this I mean, when your skin is not itching you too much and gets less dry, you will eventually forget to put cream on as your skin will produce natural oils when your skin improves and your immune system gets stronger. once you forget to put cream on, it will improve as the natural oils take over).

When I was 12, my skin was so bad I went to Great Ormond Street hospital in London as I had to stay there for a while but I could tell that all the doctors had no idea what was going on but I was lucky enough to have a doctor that didn’t want me taking any ore steroids and understood that they weren’t good but she still didn’t recognize this condition. I stayed there in a terrible state as I was losing hair and the skin was oozing and flaking and red all over. I couldn’t see my friends and i didn’t leave the house for a year so I couldn’t get to the hospital sooner.

My skin got dramatically better when I was about 13 or 14 but due to my immune system becoming really weak, I got allergies that I hadn't had before so my skin got bad again. the main allergy is dust mites so whenever I go on holiday (which is going to Spain every year) I come back looking like a tomato and really dry and irritated. then it takes a couple of months to heal again. also, I feel like it is due to the heat. now that I'm 15, my skin is doing well but every once in a while it comes back (every 3 months or so) if I have a lot of sugar or milk. I'm going back to Spain on boxing day and I'm terrified because I'm close to my GCSE's and I can't afford to miss days of school when my skin gets bad after coming home from holiday.

I wish you the best of luck on your journey and if you follow a good diet for you and use the creams that work for you, you will get better! the creams that work for me are 'dream cream' from LUSH which is unusual as lush products are usually irritating but dream cream is all-natural and includes oats that are good for this condition. I also use 'moogoo' products. I am saying this just in case you haven’t tried them before but you can give it a go but it might not work for you as it doesn’t work for everyone. I've tried everything else and these are the best for me but it’s different for everyone. I switch between them two creams when my skin gets bad otherwise my skin gets used to the cream and doesn't get better. for the moment, I am not using any cream because 1) I forget and 2) my skin is using natural oils and I don't feel dry any more.

My mum has always been making me try different diets and telling me that milk and dairy aren’t good for me and that I’m allergic to it now. but for me, that wasn't true as I always had milk behind her back because I was too young to care about my diet and I always wanted to live in the moment. to this day I can't have a lot of milk as after a while a feel sick from having loads. this is because I’m used to not having a lot of milk as I had to hide the fact that I was having milk behind my mums back so when she was around, I didn't have milk. to this day I have milk and cheese but not too much.

I have taken many blood tests and allergy tests and I have only a few allergies but it doesn't include milk every time we do a test. she is always certain that I am and says that allergy tests can be wrong. my test shows that my skin irritates to things but it's not allergies. I still limit milk so I don't feel sick but I love cheese and milk so it’s hard. I have seen people who aren’t on a diet and that works for them and see people who go on the craziest diets and that works for them so I can’t tell what is best.

I still see doctors and my mum tries her best to show every doctor what TSW is but they don’t believe us and they don’t even look into it. My mum comes into an appointment with loads of paper about this condition and we are still trying to convince doctors to look into it.

there is always a light at the end of the tunnel and I wish you the best of luck and you’re not alone. you are so so strong and I pray for you and everyone else going through this!

Your message is amazing, thank you so much!
You have a good head on yourself and also an open mind which is crucial when going through TSW - its very easy to get stuck in a fixed mind set then become very frustrated when something doesnt go to plan. Withdrawal definitely need a "go with the flow (but a critical) mentality" and just taking note of what works and doesn't work for yourself and adapting quickly. Which is exactly what you did.
With moisture withdrawal I agree. If I was cracked and pained i would moisturise. Once at a comfortable level I did MW and it worked a treat. Still dont do it on my face though unless I'm home alone.
I hope you are still doing well! Do you have an Instagram? Xx

I definitely agree with the unwanted advice. I find myself get really irritated and upset because I always get 'just use this or all you need is this' people don't really understand how upsetting it can be. Just because it 'healed your Childs eczema' or someone you know doesn't mean it will work for me! Eczema is definitely a case by case thing

Yay on your 2 year journey!
Totally agree about listening to your body and that what is for some people may not be for you!
The difference on your arms is great and I hope it keeps on going well for you :)
It’s nice to find someone going through similar things who isn’t claiming to have the “cure” and pushing diets/products onto us.
I’m still trying to unlearn a lot of the habits I had from doing all those eczema diets.

So glad to see an update from you! I’m about a year and a half in of being steroid-free and since it’s winter, my skin is a bit dryer than usual but the progress is steady enough for me now (thank God). It’s Interesting to see someone whose skin looks JUST like mine in various stages, reminds me im not completely alone so thank you so much for that. I agree with listening to your own body, it’s all somewhat trial & error with TSW from my experience. Anyway, best of luck to you!🙏🏾

From the bottom of my heart, I would like to say how much I love your channel. I just stumbled upon it, when I decided to stop using Abido cream for my 5 year old daughter. It’s only been 2 weeks and her skin is currently falling apart. I believe their is a light at the end of the tunnel, but it’s been hard, i am in tears as I type this as I believe I brought this upon my daughter. Thanks for sharing your experience and you are helping more people than you know.

Was at work on a night shift and really struggling and depressed and even crying. It was taking me up to 5 minutes to even respond to emails as my ability to move my limbs was non existent. Glad I came across your videos and your journey and to see many others suffering in the same way I did, not that I take pleasure in other people suffering, but I felt so down and alone feeling like nobody else was going through the things I did so thanks for the videos and all your advice. I've been suffering with eczema for 25 years, my whole life, and constantly being prescribed steroid creams like protopic, dermovate, fucibet, all of them. I'm going to start my TSW today thanks to your advice and many others. I'm really glad to see your healing and wish you all the best in life and with your recovery. God bless.

I’ve been going through a dilemma about my dietary choices. Most of the food I’m allergic to are the things I eat on a daily basis. Food is one of the only things that make me happy, and not being able to eat the food I like to make my skin better just makes me feel sad, but eating the food I want just makes me my skin worse which also effects me emotionally. I don’t know what to do.
Congratulations on your two years of going tsw I’ve been very happy that I’ve followed along and watched your updates.

    • @iambeezee
      @iambeezee  4 года назад +1

Sorry to hear you are struggling, but if the cause of your eczema is food based you actually have it soooo lucky! Simply stop eating the stuff you are allergic to and ur skin will clear up. I know it seems like a sacrifice but it's not worth having bad skin if you can pinpoint the reason why it's bad.
For many of us, we never find the cause of our eczema. Just look for alternatives for ur favourite foods and you wont even miss them once u see improvements to ur skin.
What things are you allergic to?

Everyones journey is different, what works for one person may not work for another, I think some people do not realise this. I have had to change the way I do things so many times in just the last year, one day moisturisers helps a little and then the next day my skin can't stand it. You should not have to explain yourself to anyone. Just do what is best for you, you are doing amazing!!!

Congratulations on 2 year TSW anniversary Zainab!
(I've just had 1 year TSW anniversary myself.)
I must say that I enjoy your rants because they are open-minded and without hidden agenda. And you're spot on - so many things depend on the person's unique body that one just cannot give a straight-up solution (even though alcohol IS a solution! (chemically speaking) :-D ). Joking aside, there are also variables like the particular stage you're at and in what conditions you operate. If you work from home, moisture withdrawal is much easier and safer. If you commute and are in contact with all sorts of bacteria, it is much harder with your skin barrier compromised - not having a "shield" in the form of a cream or oil, may actually do more harm than good in that case. Only you can account for the variables in your particular case and life, including diet, hormonal balance, quality of sleep (affecting the hormonal balance), screen / blue light at night (also affecting hormones and sleep), stress directly impacting cortisol levels, exercise (type, intensity, time of day), genetics / epigenetics, how you actually feel fundamentally, etc...
Everything is connected in our body (and mind) so it is a continuous study for ourselves what's best for us - so impossible to gauge and tell by another person. It is so easy to be judgy until one is on the other side of their own judgment. That's why I enjoy your rants because they're full of your own insights with the only agenda to help, live and let live. Keep it up - you're helping more people than you know.

Thank you for YOUR support Zainab! It's not just the awareness that you're helping to spread or the info or experience, you are also showing the will to carry on and persevere, leading by example and trying to find what works for you with no-know-it-all approach. There are times on our journeys when one is so tempted to go back, especially in the toughest months. I've experienced that and I'm sure that you have too. There may be times when it is just too much and so it may take just a little to tip one over the edge. But equally, just watching some of your videos may help people to keep the balance and stay on track. That's a big deal in my eyes. So thank you on behalf of everyone who won't or cannot express that after watching what you've had to share!

Hey Zainab, I'm only 6 minutes into this video and moisture withdrawal is quite possibly the most frightening thing for me and it gives me a whole load of anxiety. I get through a 500g tub of ointment every 3 days meaning I can probably moisture every 45 minutes! After a bath, I have to rush to get my ointment. I can't use regular water based lotions or creams because as soon as I apply them it feels as though nothing was applied... my skin feels mega dehydrated!
You are definitely a True Skin Warrior because I would be a mess without my moisturiser. It definitely acts as a mask for me

Love seeing your updates. i find that using products with very simple organic ingredients are working the best for me. i dont use anything with chemicals in it at all. but i have the same issue that sometimes i can use something and itll work for a few weeks and then all of a sudden im flaring...so i started rotating my products out. as soon as i notice im the tiniest bit itchy il switch to the product i was using prior. it also makes my products last longer. maybe you could try that!

I learned to quit steroids from your channel when I saw your video back in August. I immediately stopped. I didn’t know it was not common to use steroid cream multiple times a week for several years. I always wondered why I would break out like crazy when I didn’t use steroids for two or three days. I was addicted to steroid creams. When I first started researching, I just clicked with your channel. I was scared out of my mind of what would happen but was very lucky to find an actual good dermatologist that talked about how damaging steroids were and told me that we needed to fix that issue before any of my other issues like my milia. He put me on a medicine because of a bacterial infection I had from scratching my eczema as well as eucrisa which hurts like crazy but has no steroids. It was not a fun journey and my face looked and felt like absolute crap for months and still hurts very bad but just looks better now. I have very sensitive skin without the steroids and so many products burn it but my skin looks super clear. I am no longer thinning the skin on my neck. My face isn’t insanely itchy and bumpy. I don’t rely on a steroid anymore. It is so so nice to know I am doing what I am supposed to be doing now. Thank you for sharing your story and journey. I know this may be a random comment on this video but I was just thinking about the first months I was going through this and how much you helped me learn and wanted to thank you. And also want to add thank god for aquaphor and thank you for telling me about it😂

Hello! I thought it would be important to mention that eczema can be linked to allergies. Fortunately I went to some good dermatologist specialists who didn’t force steroids on me and found different routes for my eczema. Turned out my eczema was linked to about 9 allergies and I thought it’d be important to mention it to y’all. Bc maybe this will help you all have a possible idea as to why your eczema is even there in the first place. I would strongly suggest getting an allergy test or draw your blood at a lab. And then suggest to get allergy shots (steroid free ofc). Your shots might make you break out but definetly help a lot. Another thing that is linked to allergies is diet! You might be allergic to gluten or diary like me (which I had no idea because my other (terrible) doctors didn’t tell me) which can make you break out. I changed my diet for a while so even if it’s temporary it’ll help a lot. Stay strong loves ❤️ btw you’re so beautiful and so many people are going through this journey with you, you’re not alone

I understand how overwhelming it must be to have all these people imposing all of their options onto.
I know what’s it’s like to go through withdrawal so I want to see these people relieved.
Like I’m so ready to just buy the products and send them to people myself.😭😭😭
I’d like to send you a Candida cleanse I’ve been doing. I’ve seen results overnight and I feel like a cleanse would reduce the rest of your withdrawal time to weeks.
I’d been going through withdrawal for like 5 years and this was really the only thing that worked for me.

its okay if you don't want to follow anybody's diet, i believe the body has its own healing system, even having flare up is a way of body healing itself.(a painful way though) human body has its own detox/healing system. quitting steroid/med which is to interfere with body nature is the right thing to do. healing just takes time, changing diet/lifestyle, healing leaky gut, detoxing or using any topical treatment are not the cure of eczema, they are just some ways to boost body's self healing function. listening to one's own body is the right direction, good luck!

honey have you tried using pure shea butter or cocoa butter? i mixed some shea butter or cocoa butter with some essential oils(lavender, geranium, helichrysum, vit E, primrose oil, tea tree, virgin coconut oil etc) and use it on my daughter's eczema skin, it moisturise naturally(at lease reduce the appearance of white flakiness and sooth the discomfort of dryness. it is so much better than those commercial products. and if your eczema itches, tamanu oil is another great option. it will help your skin heal too! besides putting on natural oils to moisturise, you can soak yourself in epsom salt or dead sea salt bath. it will help heal the rash quicker(remember to moisturise after the bath). you might still experience dryness or scars, but the skin will heal gradually by itself. the reason to use certain essential oil is to help scar or discoloration heal faster. when getting your shea butter or cocoa butter, remember to get unrefined version. what i observed from my daughter's eczema rash is: the rash/scare will gradually dry out(if it was inflammation at first), the thickening or the flakiness will thinning, flattening and gradually disappear and heal by itself.

I was just diagnosed with eczema and was prescribed a steroid cream. I’ve been using it for a few days and it’s working like a charm but I don’t want to become addicted. It started with my nipples while I was breastfeeding so I was misdiagnosed with thrush for months. They cracked and bled and peeled so I feel so relieved now. Now it’s spread to my face (although less severe). What should I do? Continue till I’m all clear? Stop immediately? If so what should I do instead?

My face was clear and I put makeup on to go to a wedding and now it's all flared up again, I swer you just can't predict it! I haven't been applying anything as it has always felt better to me, I'm all for what feels better, this is hell enough without extra suffering, so I never judge anyone for their choice during this, I know some MW people can be very insistent in that way of healing and vice versa

During the summer my skin got quite itchy and dry, i used hydrocortisone for about 5 days then i stopped. It didnt get any better but i didnt use any steroids until 2 months after when i went to the doctors where they gave me a mid potent steroid cream which i applied for about 2 weeks and then i stopped. It didnt get better and i looked up information about the issue and found ur videos. I decided to not moisterurize for 3 days and my skin on my forehead is terribly dry and rough and red. Could i have developed TSW only after using it for this small period of time.

its possible but since you only used it for very short period of time, it wont last for long. do not use them again. find natural remedies and allow your skin to heal. you dont wanna be 5 years down the ling using steroids and withdrawing severely

I’ve had eczema my whole life 3 years ago I used Aveeno Baby Oatmeal Eczema Treatment (Oatmeal bath, body wash, & lotion) for literally maybe 2 days & my eczema has cleared up so clear I was so happy, got to wear my arms out for prom and graduation. My skin has been clear until maybe last month I started eating a lot of fast food nearly every day & had a bad eczema flare up recently. Maybe you can try that.
