    Me personally, I'd rank Origenics lower than the 91 dungeon, for one main reason, The amount of single ad pulls in this dungeon is not fun for a tank who is used to wall to wall pulling, for example, the area b4 the final boss. has two single pulls before the two eyeclops and the turtle. not a huuuuge deal but as a tank player it annoys me LOL. good list tho!

      Honestly my biggest problem was those dudes who trigger combat with you a mile away behind a wall thus blocking my 20 second sprint

      If the walk from the 2nd to the 3rd boss of Origenics was a full w2w pull it'd be amazing because the turtle would also be mostly dead by the time you kill everything else. I actively throw my 2 minutes on the stupid thing because I know I'll have it back before we fight the final boss.

    Tender Valley quickly became my favorite dungeon because of both the joy of the boss fights and the lore implications connecting the ruins to the First. Plus above all else, the return of the B E A N

    How to hate the first boss of Stayborough: Play literally any caster job.

      Caster: Interrupted, Interrupted, Interrupted
      Melee: One second of uptime, 10 seconds of debuff
      Ranged: I KNOW IT'S HARD TO REMEMBER, THE PEOPLE WE USED TO BE 🗣️🎵🎶

    These dungeons are very very different depending on the role you're playing, if you're a dps, Origenics is a surprising difficulty jump, as compared to all the other dungeons around, it has extremely harsh punishment for error in bosses for healers and dps. If the healer isn't quick to adjust to a mistake in the first 2 bosses, it can snowball hard into disasters, even if the mechanics of the bosses are a tad simpler than the other dungeons around

    Alexandria is the only Dungeon where I turn the music back on. I love it only for the banger. Everytime it pops up, I feel amazing cuz its such an epic feeling.

    Tbh I miss the days where dungeons werent a straight line of two groups of mobs, boss, repeat x2. I miss ARR and HW dungeons where you had objectives for specific sections. The boss fights were the only improvment i felt in these dungeons i feel.

    I don't find the 91 dungeon particularly interesting, either, but I *love* the music - when this pops, I'm instantly put in a good mood. This dungeon made me put a /beesknees macro on one of my collapsing hotbars.

    The giant turtle in origenics is vulnerable to sleep and that is the coolest thing about the dungeon I think considering the long cast time and size of that AoE.

    • @kita6502
      @kita6502 3 месяца назад

      Gives healers the choice of healing through or deciding to put it to sleep which is nice but wouldve been cool if it had raidwides too

    Great video! Refreshing take on the #2 pick.
    For the Origenics giant turtle, a caster class can “sleep” the giant AoE to interrupt it, fwiw.

    I’ll say, the pack after the first boss of 93 actually hit kinda hard. The bloodsuckers do nasty periodic hits. I discovered this as a healer when the random tank got chunked by them. It didn’t help the tank had on lvl 15 pants somehow 😂

    Origenics theme seems to use chanting from the final boss of Type-0, extremely apt for that game’s themes and what Origenics represents in that regard… still wack as a dungeon for having weird walls

    91 Leans into the lessons of DT dungeon design a little more than people realize, and it absolutely caught me off guard at a couple points simply because some things went further than EW dungeons ever did, and then some.
    Origenics is just...blegh. It's a worse vanguard and that's all that's worth saying about it. I was hoping for something akin to mt. gulg and got what I'll just call vanguard's cutting room floor content.
    I will say I REALLY appreciate them experimenting micro bosses as trash pulls. F* you mobs, little chunkier, some sort of mechanic (dolls in the deadwalk are a great example of this). I'd like to see them find ways to make them more interesting rather than back off the idea entirely. Also, many of the trash pulls in DT are just satisfying by themselves, simply because they have a satisfying amount of health and do enough damage to ask the party to use their whole kit. The speed on mechanics is so refreshing and playing with people who all feel that mechs need to be respected adds so much to the game.
    Good stuff. More this direction on all of it. And from a healer main's perspective, the damage avoidable and unavoidable attacks do and the speed they come out with asks me to actually heal smartly. It also gives others an excuse to use mits without taking away from healers. 2nd boss in zormer is a fantastic example of this.

    gotta say , only recently found your channel but im glad I did. You are the first FFXIV content creator for me that makes good videos. And while I do like the dngs in dawntrail more compared to before I still am not a fan of dngs. I generally only do them a few times and thats it . (Favourite would be the ghost dng though ! )

    Appreciated Origenics for having long slow telegraphed boss mechanics. Aside from the first boss left/right, it never asks for quick reactions. Pretty chill place really.

    I've ran into performance issues in the first dungeon whenever it rains (Never had any issues like that before and in the rest of DT), so another reason for me to rank it lower too

    I only like Origenics because I think you can use sleep on the turtle which idk if that was intentional or if they patched it yet. Intentional or not makes me think we need more enemy’s who cast relentlessly so casters have unique opportunities to cast sleep to shake up the add pack

  • @LedaTheotokoglou
    @LedaTheotokoglou 3 месяца назад

    9:20 unfortunately, the CHONKER TURTLE cannot be stunned. He can, however, be put to sleep. That can interrupt his cast, but, well, he becomes immune to it later. I find it very frustrating no matter what class I am playing, because as tank I can't stop it, as melee I have to take it and hope my healer saves me, and as healer I need to be in the middle of that to use AoE (Holy, Toxicon/Dykrasia/Art of War) and I will get popped if I don't shield myself and everyone else that wishes to greed (WHM suffers). Ranged classes can vibe I suppose, but it's just... not fun.

    • @THiiro
      @THiiro 3 месяца назад +1

      And you know what the funny part is that he absolutely can be stunned.... Just not during his cast bar.... Great design!

    I hated the Cenote dungeon. I dreaded the lvl 95-97 range when I leveled all jobs up to 100. Most people do not pay attention on the first boss and lead to party deaths, the second boss I question how many people have never heard of pool/billiards, and that final boss just takes forever to kill while getting knocked all over the place. I agree that the dungeon looks neat, and the mechanics in themselves are fun..for a time. However when it comes to leveling dungeons and doing the grind across all the jobs the Cenote dungeon was the one I dreaded the most. Vanguard on the other hand had a great cadence and I would often continue running it to finish up to lvl 100.
    The only other thing I could nitpick about some of the latter dungeons is purple on purple on purple. Purple backdrop, purple boss, purple tells. Given my eyes are not what they used to be, there have been cases where I flat out couldn't see a tell or attack because there was just too much of the same color. Mount Glug had somewhat of a similar issue until they fixed it in 5.08.
    Overall good video, agree that the combat content so far has been top notch.

  • @Tajih

    I mostly play caster dps and healers, so the 2nd boss in Vanguard is my least favorite dungeon boss in the entire expansion. It's a miserable experience trying to get any casting done during the AoE hellfire, and even worse if you're a healer trying to keep your dps alive

  • @aerieleah533

    My first instincts about the final boss of Skydeep Cenote is that it felt like a trial boss. A trial boss for a party of 4. Plays like it too, with mechanics you usually see in trials, not dungeons.
    I think the first dungeon loses points for the sheer fact that I'm disappointed Thancred, Urianger, and Koana aren't the final bosses. Missed opportunity.
