How I Got Here: The Making of “The Influencer” | Ep. 1 Sheena Interrupted

  • Now that we have our ground rules (Ep. 0), a name for the podcast (Ep. 0.02) and two practice runs in (during which we have hopefully worked out the major kinks), we thought the best place to start might be, well, the beginning. Welcome to Episode 1: The Origin Story. While I never set out to be a content creator, influencer, podcaster or online personality of any kind, it certainly has been a wonderful journey so far. And while it has brought with it both times of heartache and moments of pure joy, above all I am grateful for the sense of purpose it has given me - which was missing in some aspect of my life. Thank you for allowing us a space to share my story and for your continued support in this journey.

That Trid so clearly remembers Sheena crying in the restaurant is testimony to what a good man and husband he is.
    A very well balanced male.
    Very good to see.
Men could learn alot from him.
    Sheena is very fortunate.
As is he and their two children too.
    ❤ 🎆 🙏

You know what resonated with the interrupted videos, was The real indian dad commentary. It was seeing and hearing our culture come through. The stuff TRID was saying of the lyrics, were things my dad or mom would say on hearing these lyrics. And we were hooked.

I want to thank you for this episode. The last 2 minutes of your podcast when you talked about accepting the timing of things really got to me. Been going through something the last couple years that has me emotionally drained, and not only did I receive some good news today but you talking about the timing of things really made me feel like things are gonna be just fine.

Totally engrossing. You’re both brilliant entertainers & entrepreneurs, and now stars. Pls stop using “content creator” and “influencer”-those terms demean my enjoyment. Sheena, you are a multi-faceted artist. Your laugh helped me through COVID. TRID, you were an amazing interviewer in this segment. The show is inspiring.

This takes me back to that time when I first discovered you. It would be so neat to hear the stories of the people who did connect, because there are stories. That time was a hard time for all of us, and my husband and I were both deeply impacted emotionally but had a hard time connecting to each other. The pandemic impacted us differently so we couldn’t talk. I discovered you both on instagram and we started just literally sitting down together and watching video after video and laugh together. It gave us something to connect together with. I remember my husband coming out of the office because he heard me laughing. He sat down next to me and just stayed, and it became a thing we did together. And to be honest at first I thought Trid was Sheena’s dad AND that Trid was his real name! My whole brain needed a restart when I learned you’re married! So I thank you for the laughter, and for bringing my husband and I together during a difficult time in the world and in our relationship. I’m happy to say the end result of covid is that while it threatened our relationship, it ended up resulting in us being closer than ever because of that threat. 33 years strong! Love you guys. ❤

I love finding out that Trid was 100% on board with Sheena's gift, talent and dreams. It's rarer then people know and seeing it gives me hope. Women deserve to dream and be, outside of societal roles, but often don't get support. I love, love.

I so identify with ...about 8 years ago my grandfather died and in my grief I was talking with an online friend and I said " I am going to post 500 poems of mine on Facebook in two years" I had gotten so far from my writing
That launched me on my pathway
People read what I write and tell me how they identify and I know that that connection is because my written voice is of Something Greater Than Myself
The joy in my life is from me being me
Always enjoy seeing you two and the kiddos

Thank you for putting your “skill” in that way. Because I am very good with people. I can talk to or connect or just, many many people have called me an angel, and I felt the same way that I want to share these feelings and what nots. Putting it as sharing your gift. That’s what I do. I share the gift I was given. I am on a self loving self finding self motivated, self self and I love seeing the growth I’m going through. Being conscious of your growth is the best feeling ever. Well one of the best feelings. ❤

Your love for each other has obviously created humans (crazy in itself) but it has also rippled out through A LOT of screens. This is actually a good episode. There were a lot of touching stories and wisdom from this EP.
Speaking of Sheena singing, please do a cover of Kigeki by Gen Hoshino.
