My mom had it growing up in the 40s and 50s. It was free scraps the butcher gave to the blacks back in the day. Mom cooked it for us in the 80s 90s. I'm cooking it today!

Definitely under rated meat/protein source. Many turn their noses up at those, neck bones, etc. But prepared correctly? Very good, with some black eyed peas, collard greens, potatoes, rice, of pretty much anything. Those you put their noses up, don't know what they're missing. And when you have to make something economical, then dishes like these are....basically, what you have. Better than starving. Nice job on the recipe.

My grandmother cooked pig feet all the time. I haven’t had any since then, until my husband started looking at a variety of cooking videos and it reminded me of days of yesteryear. I decided to use your recipe, and they turned out great! I just added a little bit of barbecue sauce once they cooked down and place them on top of rice with hot sauce. Thanks

If you want cheap pigs' feet, move to New Jersey. They are the cheapest thing there is. I just bought pigs' feet because they were the most inexpensive thing I saw. Seems like they've done the same thing down south, where I am from, that they have done to chicken wings. I grew up eating wings, and they were not expensive. Now, at least in NJ, chicken wings are just about a delicacy. But pigs' feet? The least expensive thing in the meat case.
