Are all silver backs as loving and attentive to their children as Shabani is? I absolutely love this gentle giant.
annie was separated at birth, was raised by the care takers for a year, than reintroduced as the mother didn't recognise annie as her child, Shabani the silver back raised her and is overprotective of her.
This video is always worth coming back to, the smile on Annie's face says it all.
I have never seen a silverback so loving and gentle with his children.

Pretty sure they all are. You have to remember they’re almost exactly the same as us, and the child he’s touching is his own child.

He is way more attentive than the ladies are.
This appears to be normal behavior. Generally, fathers pay more attention to their daughters, and mothers pay more attention to their sons.

I don't have any degree or education as far as Gorillas go.I just adore them and see so much amazing behaviors in them. I comment also because I enjoy when others with more experience can educate me as I love learning all I can about these magnificent souls and even be corrected on behaviors & situations I was wrong about. It is nice to also hear others opinions so I can see the same video but in a different point of view from what I though was going on.It is kind of cool how others can bring out what I may have missed so i can enjoy through others interpretation. I just happened to see this video and re watch because I adore little Annie and hoe daddy loves her. Can't believe that this family is still living in such a really exhibit. I do love that Sabani is such a good father, just wish that the Japanese people who seems to love this family would DEMAND that a better living conditions be provided. I'm begging all of you to get involved with this exhibit.
At the time you wrote this comment, a new facility for Shabani and family was almost completed. It is my understanding that the new habitat took nearly two years to complete. It is a remarkable home for them! I do hope you have seen it by now.
