They look like nice drums, one thing I’ve noticed is there’s a lot of videos showing basic patterns but not a lot of advice on skin types or brand of drum.
My man, before teaching the fundamentals, you have to make sure you have them down solid. It's not just about making noise, but showing proper posture and getting the tones to sound properly, fully, and perhaps most importantly without risk of injury. With the thumbs sticking out like that, it's a certain recipe for breaking the small bones in the hand...
A tumbao is any pattern used in a music style. There is no such thing as The Tumbao, there are infinite tumbaos. The tumbao always starts with the bassist on the bass and is played by the bassist. They"set"/announce the rhythm (the tumbao). Based on that tumble all the players Ernest The bongo, the conga, looking moles all play specific patterns based on the bassist's tumbao. Virtual world is not literally have to be started by the bassist, just that everyone decides what's going to be the two-mile then everyone knows because the bases will be playing got your bow to remind everybody that song. It's basically think of it as a beat pattern. Another word for think of all of the difference Beach and Beach patterns that Stewart Copeland of the police designed, those are all tumbao designed by him. The bassist in mind of course.
By far the best beginner conga video I’ve seen on RUclips!
You should check out "Playing Congas and the Tumbao" from "Jazz at Lincoln Center's JAZZ ACADEMY".
Thank you for helping - Would recommend either raising the drums or playing in seated position so you have proper alignment.
bass, tone (open) hit and rebound at 1:20

Thanks for the explanation;
If you make a video showing how to do something, it's a good idea to start the video showing the thing that you're gonna show! (play the thing)!
Thank you!
