This is the town where I grew up. I often walked down Poole High Street, when I was a boy with my mum and grandparents over 50 years ago. It has changed an awful lot. It is nice to see some of the old shops are still there. The railway crossing had gates in those days and of course steam engines which seemed huge to me. Happy Days. Thank you so much for this wonderful trip down memory lane.
Beautiful video. Basically I was reading the story of E.A Bates Characters from Darling buds of may. This is where the real Mariette and her Husband moved too. It looks so beautiful and it’s also not far from Bournemouth. Thank you for the beautiful video.
Poole is my home town and my family back 3 generations.I enjoyed it since I can't get back there at the moment. It has a lot of history which you missed. I would have liked to see you walk up Thames street to St James Church, show the Alms houses,Guildhall etc and rejoin the pedestrian walkway further up. Accentuate the Customs house and Scaplens court and a bit more time on the very old pubs on the quay which are lovely to photograph ( I have my own collection) Maybe avoid the rubbish bins!
Thank you for the video- I left this town & I could not be happier - despite my family history, I am very happy that I never have to go there again- despite my extensive line of mugglers lineage. I spent 22 painful painful painful years living here and I’m glad that I left to become a multimillionaire I hope that i never return.
