OMG Marcy! I love this mask pattern with the filter pocket! After making so many masks, I just found your tutorial and made one. It fits perfectly on both my husband and me. It was so easy to make. I didn't need to fight with my sewing machine, nor did I need to do any basting before sewing to hold the pieces together. It looks so neat, tidy and tailored. Thank you! Thank you! I love your style and especially your "space buns"! Your husband is a sweetheart!
Marcy, I think you are so beauitful and a personality you can't beat. I struggled with your first mask BUT I make them for my daugher that works in a Mall and needs new fresh ones all the time. She has been using a filter as you suggested. I am going to give this a try and see if it is better. THANKS for your wonderful talent and sharing it.
@@handmadeharriellsThanks for the idea. I will try both. I've try to make children's mask with your pattern, ages 3 and 5. Folding vertical (nose to chin) works but the shape is off with when you go across the face (ear to ear). BUT I am not as talented as you. You need to find some KID's head.

I am getting ready to do my second big mask sewing project using this pattern because my first mask project had the center seam which I have come to find the most irritating (literally to my poor nose) thing. When it comes to the elastics, instead of sewing the elastic inside the channel, I use a very small crochet hook to snag and pull it through as the last step in the process. For me, it is easier than trying to control that fidgety elastic while sewing so close to it.
Thanks so much for a "quick" great looking mask with ONE PIECE PATTERN. LOVE IT. This will be the 5th style (made for all my family) I have tried. You are using some fabulous fabric, I on the other hand have to get over my "too precious to cut", but I am working on it. Stunned you actually cut into your batik! I gave my family fabric choices including my "too precious..., all chose the batiks!! Your videos are fun, thanks so much for sharing.

Love watching your videos. This mask is really nice. Thanks for the filter pocket addition. I had been trying to work that out and you simplified it. I laughed when you added so many layers! I adapted your mask a teensy bit (hope you don't mind!). The difference is I topstitched a channel for the nose wire parallel to the edge of the flap that covers your nose. I inserted the wire and then finished stitching the end of the channel closed. Slightly simpler and same effectiveness for preventing your eyeglasses from fogging when you do silly stuff like I do, such as run in cold weather!

Hi Marcy, thank you for this mask pattern. so easy. and fits great. does not slide down my nose. put it on and it stays put!! I made my filter pocket differently. Here is my filter pocket for this mask. This gives a filter pocket the entire width of the mask. Sandy’s Filter Pocket: Cut one more piece (w/o 1” extension). Fold piece down from the top about 1”. Hi Marcy! I made over 3000 masks before I randomly saw your original 3D mask video on my suggested page. I wish I would have seen it sooner. Thank you so much and I hope you’re enjoying playing with your new fabrics 🥰 🤍🎀🧸🔮🎆🎨🤹🏻♀️🛼🧃🍭🌯🍓🍉☃️🌻
So, masks are the only thing I know how to sew 😄😄. Thank you for this video, it’s the best thing I’ve seen in the rabbit hole of mask videos. I hope to follow along to anything else you’re sewing at some point. You’re so cute and fun!!
Hey, I made the 3 D mask and it is as easy as you say. Yippee! I do like more layers and one of them is a coffee filter sewed right in. Done it on others and they wash well and hold up. The only drawback is they have to be washed every time they're worn.
I'm thinking of putting polypropylene layer between the fabrics (both of the nose and chin pieces, as well as the main mouth part) and just using a cool iron or iron under a protective fabric for the other steps. I'll let you know how it goes. Oh! I'm also going to put e6000 along the outer stitch lines to cover the stitch holes.
Hello well I have made several masks from your 3d mask and everyone one loves them. I love them. Here I made a bee mask from the template and I folded the mask in half and steamed it to make a crease so it's easier to get on and off.
This is my first time watching your videos and I must say I truly enjoyed it!! You make this more fun, 'cause after making them for the past two years it has become mundane. But I tell ya...after watching this video, I am excited to go tackle my first '3D' mask. You make the easiest one out there. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!!

Aww I’m so sorry to hear how many of you are tired of making masks. i’ve been having fun making them myself. thing is i still haven’t found a design that works perfectly for me. either they fit well or they have room in front to breathe, sadly not both together. as more information comes out, i make new masks. i make a filter of 700 thread count pure cotton sheet and olyfun for the filter. i’ve stopped using elastic because they get so loose so easily. THANK YOU so much for showing the filter. it is really important.
Interestingly, that Olyfun filter insert piece (polypropylene) can be rubbed with plastic bags to create an electric charge which captures/traps more particles. Remove and hand wash after each use.
I have a hack to add to this mask. I have been adding a piece of fusible interfacing to to the inside and outside of the mask but not the folded nose and chin bits. This gives it a little more stiffness to stop it folding to your face if heavy breathing and creates some extra filtration without too much bulk. Also cheaper than getting more fabric. Love the videos though and hoping to move onto clothes soon after mastering my sewing on the masks.
I just want to say I 🫀 watching you so much.
Is that a full on anatomical heart?! 🤯
Love the space buns, too.

So, masks are the only thing I know how to sew 😄😄. Thank you for this video, it’s the best thing I’ve seen in the rabbit hole of mask videos. I hope to follow along to anything else you’re sewing at some point. You’re so cute and fun!!
Ah Stephanie, soon you will be sewing MORE than masks, if I have anything to do with it! 😁

I just found you and I love these mask! Wish there was a pattern. I love your hair.
Hey, I made the 3 D mask and it is as easy as you say. Yippee! I do like more layers and one of them is a coffee filter sewed right in. Done it on others and they wash well and hold up. The only drawback is they have to be washed every time they're worn.
You can smile and have a MERRY CHRISTMAS! Thanks for the fab videos. 😀
Thankya Jackie! Merry merry to you!
👍 love it!! Everything love it!! The space look, fabrics, this design, your energy and sence of hummor ❤Thank you❤
You’re most welcome Noor!
Thank u for putting up demand. Love it that u are so amazing at controlling ur mood with ur hair.🤣
Use what you got 🤣🙃😂!
I enjoy your mask making. I like your instruction videos on making a mask.
I just found you 2.5 hrs ago and have laughed through so many of your fantastic videos. You two are just soo great ♡♡ I love this mask ♡♡
Thankya Melo! Hope it turned out well 💗

HAHAH!!! I will tell him!
Good hack! I hope you do move onto clothes.....I promise you, it’s more fun, and also addictive in the best way 😁
