I know - I'd like to hand it over to Mentha/Kriemen/Lierin/Gabrielle to see what they'd do with it because you know it would be another level of awesome - and that's no disrespect to this mod author, just a reflection of my taste:)
Looks like a castle that decided, after 2/3 were built, it would like to become a giant cottage-mansion-hybrid. Way to big for me. Way to vast with to much empty space. The author put in some nifty things though not gonna lie. However in much smaller home, these would be much more welcome.
I liked the video and agree with you, except I don't have mixed feelings. I wouldn't use this home, except in full knowledge I'm being lame. Free, is just not right for a home of this improbability. The big flat platform with two stilts, even with modern steel and ceramics, is just jarring to my immersion. This platform is too feeble for the load it seems to bear. Add four feet of snowfall, and calculate the weight? Nah, but that's why Alpine homes don't feature flat areas over a void. Kinda okay with the floaty candle -- I'd see if I could knock it off, or a series of them. Might be cool to watch lit candles tumble down to Whiterun's straw roofs. The diving board is interesting, except the tour guide was afraid of virtual freefall.... It's not big enough to summon a dragon mount upon, so -- meh. The room full of faction models is a keeper, and the bar is stoically elegant. The Roman orgy Olympic-sized pool is just way too much, my thoughts. That's a sick amount of weight, structurally, and I have a Fallout cringe reflex about steamy, foggy water. The eye-level draperies are just a personal peeve of min -- hate visual obstruction. Visually striking exterior green pool, but that platform is so exposed, it seems a bit reckless to me to put objects out there that could easily blow away. I'm feeling pedanti and picky, I suppose, but writing instruments outdoors, at altitude, just doesn't feel real.
