The way Aronofsky combined and timed those three stories (being very different from each other as they were) is a sign of brilliance. The whole aesthetic of the film is flawless. And on top of that, add
I lost both of my parents in a very traumatic way in a span of 9 months each, this movie help me to accept on every level the passing of them and move on. And for that reason, not counting the brilliant script, the stunning visuals, the emotional music, and the fantastic casting, this will be forever the #1 movie in the ranking of my heart. Thank you for this beautiful and profound piece of art Mr. Aronofsky
These two were lovers when they made this film. I’m always impressed by couples who can work together professionally. He’s done it again recently with Jennifer Lawrence in Mother! Great director, great actress, great film.
For those with the knowledge to understand it, The fountain is the greatest movie of all time I'd even go as far to say that, not only is it the greatest movie ever made, but I think it's the greatest movie ever conceived of
In my 20s my cousin was murdered and for the last decade and a half I have felt pain and anger like Tommy…now…after the pandemic and in my 40s I see life more like Izzy. I’m letting go and crying as I type this. This film should be studied forever!
I think there is a lot that Aronofsky has in mind and it's not simple as described...Symbolism of the film is great and really moves you but i think it's connected with his PI and black swan...Tree of life concept is actually related with all those symbolism and buddhism as well...There is a lot going on those movies than the ones meet the eye (or your conscious mind)
I didn't think it was about the fountain of youth. I thought it was about the book she was writing and didn't get a chance to finish. Her part was the past story (conquistadors) and the part he wrote was the future parts. That is what he "finished".
Darren aronofsky is brilliant at making avant garde cinema his debut pi was a very interesting masterpiece and the wrestler is just an amazing film it’s too bad he had to ruin his career with that biblical crapfest that was Noah he may have decided to do that just because he was heartbroken after his breakup with weisz
