You are absolutely darling....love the fact you keep the mistakes or frustration in the video😂..it’s real life for those of us that don’t do this a lot....thank you....so glad I found your channel 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Totally agree 😊 about finding this channel & hopefully will not wind up making a mess that'll be like confetti.... When you think it's all vacuumed up you find more! Think I'll line a slice tray with paper then felt on top to reduce the clumsy hand moments when I get time to try making some!🙂
I started making cards about 6 months ago. I paint paintings, do clay work and decoupage but this is my new obsession, and I love it. (I work full time so this is just for fun). I am still learning...and doing ok. I am a VERY clumsy person. I watch a ton of tutorial videos to help walk me through everything. I always watch them, try to reproduce their perfection and sometimes it's a disaster. I get frustrated and live in the "why can't I do it like them" place some days. This is the first video I have watched of yours and I love you. I feel like I am not alone in the world of losing stuff that was literally in front of me, machine getting stuck and items getting strown around. Thank you for being REAL and being so funny. I needed it and I can't wait to do my shaker cards tonight. I will probably have sequins everything everywhere all at once - but it will be fun trying!! Now I am going to subscribe so I can see more of your videos. Thank you again and Keep it real. :)
Thank you, thank you, thank you, I am disabled and live with chronic pain and not only have you shown me how to make there lovely cards but you also made me laugh and made my day. So looking forward to watching more of your GREAT video's ❤❤
Carol-me to Carol, JD and a couple of others keep me going. Most of the time I can’t stay awake more than a couple of hours a day, and I just decided, to hell with housework. I couldn’t do it any way, but I kept thinking if I couldn’t take care of other things, what right did I have to play. Every right! And if I can’t play, I can watch these wonderful people doing the things I would be doing if I can. And JD, I love you lovely lady. You keep it real.(that’s the problem with the beauty and sports videos. All pretend. You are a saver JD. How nice that you can do what you love, and spread joy doing it. Sometimes I feel like you are a granddaughter, or a neighbor, inviting me over for coffee. How lovely is that. Ok, babble time over for now. It’s 7: am, I’m thinking it’s bedtime❣️🙏🏼
@@claudettemiskell2763 Carol and Claudette, I am a chronic pain sufferer as well. I get frustrated on the days I am in too much pain to craft or do anything. I have a really bad painful neck that is screwed together. I just ordered a thingy that you put on top of your desk so you can work standing up. I hope it helps. I enjoy JD's videos, too, and other crafters as well.
I have watched this video at least 6 times over the past year or so. I have used your techniques to make several cards and was very pleased with the results! But now I watch the video from time to time just to enjoy your fun, cheerful, sweet natured personality - it never fails to be entertaining and surrounds me with positive feelings. (Very much needed these days.) Thank you!!!
You make card making fun. You don't delete your mistakes. Like losing your tulle. It makes your card lessons so much more realistic. Most people are not perfectly organized. Plus you laugh at your problems along the way. Which is also a good lesson in life. Don't get mad, laugh. Crafts happen! Lol love ya, you're great. Thank you.
As a tip if you've not seen it before...you can put the shaker bits inside the shape then add a 2nd piece of acetate to seal it up then stick it to your actual card. It means you don't have to blindly try line up over top of the bits and also means they don't go everywhere like the sequins did.
Five years after the video, I'm reading your comment and thinking DOH! that makes perfect sense. Why didn't it ever occur to me? Thank you very, very much!
I'm a beginner and have loved watching you instructions. My favorite part was seeing you have a problem with you die-cut maching and you laughed and went on with your work. Believe me --when a beginner is trying something ew it's great to see what can go wrong and how to fix it. You are a great teacher thanks !!!
Not only do you crack me up 🤣🤣 .... you make the craft 'real'. I have so many oopsies when crafting and it is reassuring to see that someone who produces beautiful work does too.
I love seeing your tutorials. You are real, down to Earth and funny. Yet you are professional and easy to understand. I think you always look so nice for the tutorials. If someone is saying otherwise, they are actually jealous and trying to cut you down. Keep up the good work.
JD, you are the sweetest thing! A delight to watch, and you make me feel like I could do all of these projects, evenxas a newbie! And even if I screw them up, you show me how to adjust it. I really hope you are back to reading your comments because we all love you! Remember, internet trolls aren't happy unless they're making others miserable. So please don't doubt yourself...it's all on them, and karma will wake them up at some point. Hugs!! And thanks for being the most beautiful you!
It's not often that a demonstrator makes me laugh, but I sure did with you!! Thank you JD, for not only the terrific card ideas, but also for being able to laugh at yourself as we laugh along with you!!! God bless...
You are my favorite card maker. I do the exact same this with misplacing my stuff. I love, love love how you don't edit it out. You make the cutest faces and are able to laugh at yourself. You are better than I am.....I curse terribly when I make mistakes or misplace stuff. Keep it up, You add sunshine to my day.
Thanks so much for the video on the different types of shaker cards. I love ur videos because I do so many of the things u do. Loose my glue, die cut pieces, etc it makes me feel so much better to know I’m not along.😩
I've been an avid closet crafter for yearss now and take long breaks of time here and there....after watching this video, not only did I sub, but now I want to pull out all my crafting goodies and get back to creating! TYFS!
Wow, thank you so much for showing us how to make so many different types of shaker cards all in one short video! I've become obsessed with making shaker cards and really wanted to try different methods, so I will try out all of these. When I make gift card holders for Christmas, I aways try to make ones that can be used as tree ornaments, so your removable shaker idea will be perfect. I also really like the card with the shaker on the inside of the card. You explained how to make all of the cards very well and gave some tips with the pros and cons of each type.
You crack me up! I don’t know how anyone could NOT like you or your videos! I like shaker cards but I don’t make them enough and I don’t know why. Tyfs your knowledge in card making! Keep up the good work!
JD you are so funny, love your jokes, I moved to Mexico to teach the Bible in sign language, I am also a crafter and that comes in handy when teaching the deaf. I love, love, love making a variety of cards. You are boss with your skills, I am 65 and you are teaching me so much.❤️
What a hoot! Such fun..oh, yeah, creative ideas too. I do appreciate that you credit sources for your inspiration, as well as putting your own spin on your projects. Thanks.
You are hilarious and so real. This is the way that most of us make cards - trouble peeling off the backing tape, etc. In addition I drop everything and spend a lot of time on the floor looking for tiny dies or card bits. Most of us aren't Kristina or Jennifer though I do admire them a lot. Glad I found your videos. Great ideas and they make me feel better about myself. LOL.
I'm so glad I found your RUclips channel. Love that you share your talent, glitches and all! I am encouraged to learn and grow, even at 81. You are a gift to the card making community.
I found this video in the middle of the night. Going thru some health problems and you’ve made card making my new goal. Funny, ingenious and inspiring.
I must have missed this video, but it is so informative. You have a gift for having talent & giving smiles. You make your products so easy to learn. Thank you for being you.
You crack me up every time! I love to see your bloopers and hear comments that we’ve always thought to ourselves “does JM have double sided tape drama like us?” Hehehehe. Your tutorials are so entertaining and informative - THANK YOU!
I was making a card last night for my husband's birthday (Stephanie Bernard's large gift). I was mounting some of the parts on the front with foam squares. I couldn't get those little backings of the squares to peel off! And I, too, thought of JM and wondered why I couldn't do it like her! :D
Awesome. I'm new to shaker card makes (I know, living under a rock). This how-to for shakers is truly timeless and I'll be using it to practice. Thank you!
SORRY!!!!! I'm one of those that enjoy the heck out of your videos but forget to like or leave a comment!!! I love the fact that you encounter the same mistakes I do, AND YOU GIVE A SOLUTION!!!!!! Thanks for hours of loveliness and laughter!
DELIGHTFUL CARDS, JD!! NO WAY can I choose a FAVE~~~they are ALL so darn cute for various reasons! LOVE the variety of “shaker window materials”~~~so fun, and unique! The tulle was really cool, and a “never-thought of” window piece for me....but I also loved the vellum, especially with the bottle! Thanks for the tips along the way, too, JD~~~like before shaking “too hard”, be sure the window frame is secure!! (Haha)...and to be ESPECIALLY CAREFUL w/seed beads! TFS n’ HAPPY STAMPIN n’ CREATIN’!
I love all of them....I liked and subscribed...I love how you explain in detail and you even show your mishaps. You are one of the best I've seen making shaker cars...I really liked the detachable window shaker that is awesome. Thanks for sharing.
RUclips is starting to show older video's. I just watched this one today for the first time. I love shaker cards, have never made one, but now l know how. You funny lady. New subscriber from Texas
Like I said before, you are so funny even when you know you made a mistake or forget something. Just watching you makes it that much more fun to make cards. And the see through card was my favorite.
Of course I love all of them, but the inside shaker is very different! I love your tutorials, never a dull moment! Like when you lost the tulle! Priceless!
Lots of ideas for a newbie like me and really straightforward! I get so frustrated with single technique videos that take 40 minutes to make the point....this video is perfect! 10 fun ideas in about 2 mins each :-)
Love how you incorporated other things not just the "normal " . I loved them all. If I had to choose one it would have to be the see through shaker card. Thank you for these ideas.
I totally enjoy your videos... especially when you have a little mishap and your response! Glad you leave the mishaps in your videos as it is so typical of anyone who makes their own cards! Keep entertaining us... you are a dear!
I recently found your You Tube Channel and just love your attitude and presentation. I just cracked up when you said Jennifer McGuire doesn't have this tape problem. All the cards are great, I think I like the Margarita one the best - the ice cubes are hysterical. One little tip I found from someone else on the internet was to cut shape outlines out of fun foam rather than try and run tape around an opening. I did it, it works pretty good. Another trick I used was to drop the shaker materials into the clear side (or into the shaker itself) and then put the back , or just a small piece of paper to cover the opening. This helps to keep the shaker material confined to where it should be in the first place.
Love your videos! To help you with peeling the backing paper of double sided tape, get yourself a very fine tip tweezer. It helps me a lot or use a pokey tool.
You can also use another adhesive, to grab the backing from the adhesive foam/tape. For example, use a piece of packing tape. When I have lots of small adhesive backings to remove, i just double fold a piece of packing tape and stick it flat onto my glass desk. Then I just touch a corner of the backing I want to remove to it and it peals right off! Something to try, in the right circumstances.
Excellent video! Moved fast enough but at a speed that you could understand. I loved the wardrobe change, so fun! and the make up looked great too! Thanks for an exceptional how to video!
I see this video's at least 2 years old, but I just want to say Thank you for sharing it with us. I LOVE the fact that you leave the "bloopers" in for those of us that are always making mistakes. And your seed through shaker card has given me an idea for my Christmas cards this year!!!😉 Thanks again.
Love your video. Love that you leave in that the glue, tape, tulle etc goes missing just like it does in everyone’s craft space!!! Just a thought- after you have created the well with the foam tape, it might be easier to put your shaker bits in there. They can’t run away from you then & it could also make it easier to line up too... just thinking
I have yet to make one. Started card making a yr ago and these scare me. You are an amazing crafter. Knowledgeable and efficient. My favorite shaker card was the heart shaped on, on front of the card. Tyfs. Many Boessings.
JD, you are definitely my favorite teacher! Your personality is adorable while allowing us to see your oopsies, and you take the time to go through the entire process. xxoo Edie Cain
I liked them all. What a great video. I book marked it since you covered all types in one vid. And you did it so well. I usually have the bits every where cause Satan doesn't listen to me at all when I'm crafting.
You are hilarious! I love that you have all the same problems that I have when card making, from losing your glue, or whatever....to having things get stuck! You just roll with it instead of redoing your video.
I am so glad I found your vlog. Your frustrations are mine every time I sit at my desk. 😆 very creative. Stay you. TY for the feel good morning. Enjoy your day.
I have seen this video before, BUT I can watch it over & over & over again....Lol It is a PRETTY AWESOME video, loaded with GREAT IDEAS!! And, always so inspired after watching your videos. Thanks so much for sharing. Arlene
Great tutorial, love learning how to make different shaker cards. I like them all so it 's hard to pick a favorite. I do like the one that was made pretty thick to hold a variety of items. . You did good.
JD you are so cute! Glad you show the side of goofs...like when you got your die cut machine thingy stuck. You made me chuckle because you so real. That’s a great thing. Keep up the good work.
I do really enjoy your channel. You are so relatable, friendly, and genuine. Just a tip I saw on Gerry’s Craft. She only pulls a bit of the double sided backing off of each tape and bends it to the outside. Then positions her piece. Once positioned, she pulls the tape backing the rest of the way off. I cannot for the life of me pull all the backing off then position it squarely. Subscribed.
Omg. I love that you left in the part where you couldn't find the tulle. I am ALWAYS doing that kind of thing. Usually I have to stand up and take a step or two away from my desk to get a different angle before I find whatever it is. ❤
I love these cute ideas, and how to use my dies in different ways. And I love shaker cards! I have an idea for you. When you sprinkle your seed beads down, put a round cookie cutter or some sort of ring without a bottom to coral them until they settle down, then lift the ring. LOVE your videos and personality! My stuff goes missing, too. I must have a ghost.
JD, I just love your personality! You are SO real, & I appreciate you NOT deleting your “goofs”. Its really helpful. God bless you sweetie! ❤️
You are absolutely darling....love the fact you keep the mistakes or frustration in the video😂..it’s real life for those of us that don’t do this a lot....thank you....so glad I found your channel 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

So many wonderful shaker card ideas....no way I could pick a favorite!
I think this was so funny you being yourself and keeping the bloopers in. Flat shaker, clear one. And the nail polished one. Great Job.
Love how you incorporated other things not just the "normal " . I loved them all. If I had to choose one it would have to be the see through shaker card. Thank you for these ideas.

Thank you. This is much easier than the other videos. Definitely doable.
I recently found your You Tube Channel and just love your attitude and presentation. I just cracked up when you said Jennifer McGuire doesn't have this tape problem. I have not made one shaker yet but you inspired me to do one now. You are a hoot, like Pat said I too love the simplicity and real life making. Thanks
All, I love all. I will definitelly try to make more shaking cards. thanks for sharing
You are so adorable AND creative. I didn't know I needed foam tape until now! My head is swirling with ideas. Loved em all - thank you!
thank you!
I liked them all. What a great video. I book marked it since you covered all types in one vid. And you did it so well. I usually have the bits every where cause Satan doesn't listen to me at all when I'm crafting.
hahahaahahahahah, I know right? what's his deal?
You are hilarious! I love that you have all the same problems that I have when card making, from losing your glue, or whatever....to having things get stuck! You just roll with it instead of redoing your video.
I really liked the surprise inside shaker idea. I’ve never seen it before so thanks for sharing and great work.
You are a hoot and a great demonstrator! Thanks for sharing your time and talent.
I am so glad I found your vlog. Your frustrations are mine every time I sit at my desk. 😆 very creative. Stay you. TY for the feel good morning. Enjoy your day.
I love your videos. You show your mistakes and that makes it more valuable and honest. Keep it up!
My favorite card was the complete see through. xx
I love the inside shaker card!
All the cards are so beautiful and you explain it very well.
JD you are so cute! Glad you show the side of goofs...like when you got your die cut machine thingy stuck. You made me chuckle because you so real. That’s a great thing. Keep up the good work.
My favorite was the ones with the shakers!
I really enjoy your tutorials. You make them fun and keep it real! Thank you for sharing.
You are so precious, entertaining, funny. I just love you! Thank you for the videos!
Subscribed.
I have got to try both the see through shaker card and the tulle shaker card. JD you make watching RUclips videos fun, thanks
You’re video and cards were awesome. I am so happy that I’m not the only one that loses my supplies as I’m working. I loved them all! Thank you!
Omg. I love that you left in the part where you couldn't find the tulle. I am ALWAYS doing that kind of thing. Usually I have to stand up and take a step or two away from my desk to get a different angle before I find whatever it is. ❤
I always know where to find my lost pieces.....
On the darn floor.
You’re fun, creative and a joy to watch. Thank you for sharing.
Absolutely beautiful. All of them. Thank you
I love the nail polish shaker.
I love your tutorials. You make it sound fun. You also make me feel better about making mistakes.
Great video!! You are true joy to watch. My favorite was the removable one ! So very clever but I would use glue dots.
JD, you are just too cute! When you have your little human errors. I just found your videos and they are great. Look forward to watching more of them.
Love your videos. Wonderful ideas for shaker cards. You explain everything so well. Thank you
I love these cute ideas, and how to use my dies in different ways. And I love shaker cards! I have an idea for you. When you sprinkle your seed beads down, put a round cookie cutter or some sort of ring without a bottom to coral them until they settle down, then lift the ring. LOVE your videos and personality! My stuff goes missing, too. I must have a ghost.
