Every video i watch of yours Rob takes bricklaying back to where it should still be .So much is now lost but you keep it going which is brilliant long may it continue mate 👍
As Steve (from Steve and Alex) said to me when we were chatting at Building Careers Live when I asked "Is that Rob Songer there" and he said "Yes, can you not see his halo". Pretty much sums it up! Master Mason.

Patience is a virtue I’m an ex pat living in oz now retired did something similar in Melbourne 35yrs ago Gothic arches to a very large sunroom nice work fella 👍👌
Magnificent work and spectacular precision. I also love that there is no rush in your work. The only thing I will add, is that in my humble opinion, despite typical gothic arches, the pair of windows with post in between is rather typical for romanesque architecture - latin name is biforium.

Rob...idea? You should do the chopping/measuring of the bricks etc, construct the ply templates and sell to people as a kit. There is loads of people from all demographics that would luv to crack on with this with their space at the bottom of the garden.
Yes, it's an original cartwheel that wanted to be remembered. I'm going to Hammerite it on completion, and the missing section at the bottom should allow for a certain amount of expansion.
@@robsonger1I don’t ,I find it a divisive comment . Their is room for both . Super trowel and the spec mix competitions are run with strict rules . They are also fun to watch.
Single skin, lime mortar... we have a few factors here. Firstly, every wall would be built stable using ties and/or piers, and with regard to lime mortar, if its 1:1:6 then there are no issues, but if it's hydraulic, then as long as precautions are followed then a lime joint should last a minimum of c70yrs. I hope that helps
@@MARTINA-gc3tq Hydraulic lime has a 90 day set in which time the temperature must not fall below 5 C. You might be surprised with the speed that lime reaches a good strength in warmer weather, especially if chalk or stone dust are part of the mix.
I would guess you may find some in a reclaim yard from time to time, other than that a few brickyards might offer a service for making them. At some point, I could be making these for individuals...

How long before the risk of a single skin wall blow over passes when using lime mortar?
