I love the idea of solo travel but won't do it personally. I won't put myself in isolated situations by myself such as the park/trails. The gift of fear, I guess.
@Vanja Lo No. YOU need to realize bad things can happen, and that fears are sometimes common sense. I still hike solo but I take many precautions I didn’t take before. Maybe you should stop being ignorant of reality.
@Vanja Lo I travel solo all of the time - what are you talking about? My point is, you shouldn’t ALWAYS ignore your fears and put yourself in bad situations just to “get over it,” that’s just plain stupid and a recipe to have something bad happen to you.

I do things solo and I take risks. Calculated risks I call them. I think things through with the lens of safety in mind and make decisions accordingly.

Isn't Washington just one of the most beautiful states? I'm 34, moved here at 18, and it's my favorite state. We have so much water, 2 mountain ranges, a volcano (mt. Rainier), rainforests, waterfalls. It is really amazing and has become my home. I always love seeing people enjoy their experiences here!

So glad to have watched this, I also wanted to do solo travel to places like Maldives and Hawaii. I always think that travel is made easier when you have the best travel gear and essentials too. I loved the houseboat stay. I would love to do that. I have to say, it warms my heart that Maine is in your top two places. I live right next to wear you went in Maine. It is a beautiful place and right now it is stunning with the foliage!
I moved to Washington about four years ago from Florida for my spouse's job. I'll always be a tropical beach bum at heart but there's something so special about the Olympic area. It has its own brand of magic. We actually live about 15 minutes from where you were in a house on the Puget Sound and it's so incredibly peaceful. I'm so glad you had such a fantastic visit. 😊
You are a lot braver than I would be to go on these solo trips. Not that I haven’t traveled alone, but there were always business associates traveling to the same destination, so I always had someone to reach out to. Or I stayed in relatively familiar hotels, I was never out on a boat alone. But then, I am not comfortable on boats. Happy you are and took us along!
I agree100%. I love the idea of going it alone but going to an isolated park by myself would be a no-no and I am comfortable with my choices and instincts.

I live about twenty minutes from gig harbor and it’s one of my favorite places!! If you ever come back you should stay in Westport at the little cottages on the bay. It’s a sweet little town and you can explore so many beaches around the area! Specifically, Pacific Beach when they do their kite festival.

Gig Harbor and the Olympic area is so beautiful. Washington State is beautiful. We have it all the ocean, mountains, snow capped Volcanoes. Waterfalls. The Columbia River. The desert. You should come to The Columbia River Gorge. It's beautiful. Hikes. Boutiques, yummy food ( gluten-free is easy to find) Explore little communities. All within 60 milescof Portland Oregon!
I miss being up there. It is so extremely beautiful there. A favorite place was Multnomah falls another was Blaine. Coos Bay. Lapine, Oregon. That's where my mom decided to go live. Also loved there. Some people may think it looks gloomy but it's not. It's absolutely beautiful. Wish I could go back before I die. Just to sit somewhere and take it all in. And breathe....

Have you considered converting a School bus into a "mobile" home. Or buying or renting an RV. You can go anywhere, take Max and see the USA.l Having a home with you will help you be nomadic with out

The Pacific Northwest is, in my opinion, the most beautiful part of the US. My company's corporate office is in Tacoma and I have a really good gf who lives in Gig Harbor. I've always been so excited any time I've had to go there for work. And what a great idea to stay on a houseboat. That looked amazing!

You drove right past Lake Crescent where I got married! It’s so beautiful! The lodge on Lake Crescent would have been much more exciting than Forks.
