    TNP Patreon comments on this xlnt blade: "Zak Orendorff I love that blade shape and the all around looks of the knife. 1mo Andrew Lovelace It’s all ball bearings these days. 1 1mo Harold Galen McPheron Nice review... 1mo Sheepdog I'm a big fan of RJ Martin designs. He was the designer on a few Kershaw models that are NF Project approved. Volt II comes to mind. Reviewed years ago and one of the first knives I bought in the early stages of my NF Project induced knife addiction. He also did the project approved Kershaw Chill ( "$16 Well Spent" video) and it was indeed $16 well spent! 1mo The Nutnfancy Project Great points Sheepdog, I still love that Volt II and the Chill, I wish I would have remembered those and mentioned them in the video! 1mo Todd Strelka Nice knife. I've never owned a ZT. Like Sheepdog said, it is similar to the Volt II which I have. Though the Volt II has Wizard of Oz clip issues. :) 1mo The Nutnfancy Project It does have Wizard of Oz issues. 1mo OldBloodanGuts Looks like the crkt ripple. 2 1mo Lon N Love KRV's - thanks Nut'n. Nice knife, ZT is premium maker. RJ Martin also designed one of my favorite Kershaw blades, the 3890 "Scrambler". Very similar blade shape with a false sharpened spine. Keep the reviews coming Nut'n - you are a 'trusted information source' - a rarity indeed. 4w Zak Orendorff Nutn you should check out some WE knives, other than the WE made crux that you have by FF. Now i will admit a lot of their designs dont really connect with me and they're more geared towards the artistic 2nd cool more so the 1st kind of cool but they do have a few that's both 1st kind and 2nd kind of cool. Great fit and finish. Same with their Civivi line. Thank you for the great content. 4w EVAN K. Another knife to add to my list of Wants! This thing looks sick. Reminds me of my Nutnfancy Reviewed CRKT Outrage. Just added the Spyderco Para 2 to my collection so have to start saving again!"

    The lockbar insert is there so the titanium scales don't contact the blade steel, it's not an over-travel stop. The titanium is softer than the blade steel and will deform causing lock rock if there is no lockbar insert. CPM-20CV is also wear resistant so alumina based stones will not properly cut the carbides in the blade steel. Diamond stones will give you the best performance out of this blade steel. The titanium scales are also very slick on this model and I wish they had more traction on them.

    To remove the pivot, I slightly modified the angles of the prongs on a set of corn on the cob holders. I also ground down the points just slightly to minimize chance of scratching with the tool. Works perfectly to remove the proprietary pivot.

    I have both the Bronze (serial 0097) and Blu/blk - the bronze has a much better steel vs the Blue. I EDC the bronze nearly 3-4 times a week. The main issue - the pocket clip. It loosens easily and rocks and blocks the lock bar making the flipper function sticky. The 0450 also is plagued by that clip

      @riverrunner23 5 лет назад +1

      @@donjohnson5424 Hey Don, the Intrepid is from the Kizer Vanguard series, the 'entry level' kizers. I am no expert, however Birdshot IV has a review on u-tube from 3 years ago on this very one. I priced is on amazon, $70.40, when I bought mine last year it was $60.20 and on the birdshot review they quoted $80. So, it is reasonably priced. It is not a $200+ Kizer. Watch the vid for some proper info if you care to. I just mainly collect, so I haven't put any real use to it, but it is a very knife, a bit heavy, but flips great and is appealing to my eye. Anyway, enjoy your knife life.

    Edge Pro: just think, if you're wearing out stones, you're changing the angle as you stroke. I got into this with the Lansky's. It's no good unless you're willing to waste money on more stones before they're "worn out". The best I've used is the Spyderco Triangle sharpener. I've had mine for over 4 years now and I don't see any wear on their sapphire stones. A lot of knives have crossed it's path too.

    do not like flippers or or the blade shape. blonze is ok. I just dont think the build pivots on ZT stuff makes any sense unless you have 100 knives and treat them as fashion. I prefer the sypderco budget knives. They are very rugged and last a very long time. Extremely expensive knives tend to sit in a drawer instead of getting used. I have no use to stash a couple grand in knives in a drawer because they might be worth more some day. ZT seems to be closer to the disposable end of knives.
