Such a remarkable woman. I have always marveled at the level of intelligence many of our woman in metal have. Their depth of knowledge about life and about music and the gratitude they have. Humbling. Gotta laugh when she said they are a "gateway" band. Great interview, loved it.
Just saw her on the Ayreon show two days ago and she absolutely nailed all the parts Floor used to sing. It was really amazing❤ And then, when we where having breakfast at our hotel yesterday, a saw a woman with a child on her arm walking in. As she walked along our table it dawned on me it was Brittney. Later on I saw she was sharing her table with Magaly Luyten who allso was singing in the Ayreon show, awesome performance again of Ride the Comet btw. The whole show was awesome and an experience i’ll never forget. Thanks for this lovely interview, Jasper🙏👍
Thanks for sharing that! Brit is always fun to interview! I hope you'll find more fun Brit, UtA, and Ayreon content on my channel you'll love (there is lots of it!)
8:07 Funny, I don't really like any of those things Brit listed, but I still can't get enough of UTA's music (and similar)! Also I can only imagine how difficult it must have been writing the lyrics etc with a newborn baby......that's next level - max respect. Great interview, really enjoyed that thanks 🙂
New UTA is coming, the only way to be more excited will happen when the first single/video is released next year! Brittney is the goat, it's not about the rhymes, it's the tempo, the cadence, the passion & emotion & delivery, & she is top of the chain at translating story to song with breath-taking, jaw-dropping, goosebumping vocals that shatter the skies & split mountains. One of my all-time favorite bands & I'm so glad that more & more people are getting to hear them & are moved by her voice & lyrics & their amazing, world changing music, & care about them like I do! 🤘🤘🔥💗🔥💗🏹💘😊🙏🍻
Brittney Slayes! 🤘🤘🤘 I only discovered UtA with the Abyss album, but have really enjoyed some of their earlier stuff too. Apex and Abyss are great workout music (although you do have to be careful not to get carried away with Awakening, otherwise your workout ends after the first five minutes).
I'm a little behind on watching interviews from around this Fest, but I see myself in the video during the Abyss buildup at 0:43, the bald guy with a red beard. Traveled 16 hours to Mad With Power, to surround myself and meet soooooooooooo many friends I've known for 2 years that I finally met for the first time, thanks to the wonderful Twitch community. Also, hearing ALL of us singing Northwest Passage at the 8:40 mark, gives me goosebumps STILL a month later. Thank you for the awesome interview with the main mastermind behind UTA. The whole band is a great group of people, and it's fun to hang with them on their streams all the time. I can't wait to hear the official Ghosts in the Mist mastered version, and for the new album it's on! - Shinigami1989
I'm happy to live in a world where such a kick ass band loves fantasy and sci Fi. Not since Rush have we seen such an amazing commitment to the genres.
It doesn't matter what you have between your legs, if you have musical talent and know how to use it, then you belong up there. Metal has always had great female vocalists, just not in quantity. And Brittney is very talented. Fav UTA song is Crypt. Her vocals there are impressive.
Great interview. In my opinion, this is a very unique and talented band. They've quite successfully melded Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and Dragon Force into one band with an extremely talented female lead singer. They are in my top five at the moment.
👍Great interview and Britney, just such a power house and also (nuchter=dutch) down to earth woman. About metal be more populair,in my opinion, Floor Jansen opened the doors a bit more when she became more populair a few years ago and said; "metal is not all about screaming/growling men", so when people start checking her out, people discovered a whole new aray of bands and found out that she was right and brought some fresh "blood"to the metal realm.🤘
Regarding the changes in North America (in terms of increase in fans) I think the pandemic gave people a lot of time to branch out and listen to things they might not have done before. I know I discovered a lot of new bands during that time, and like a lot of people I decided to stop missing out on live shows and now I'm more likely to go see some bands live when they are in the area, even if they aren't in my top 10, just to be out in a crowed.
So feel Cyberpunk right now !!!! Time to tour with Baby Metal. I mean it’s Dream Theatre level at the same time you love the visual component. Dude just referencing the two space operas! The team this band is always, that’s what it’s about. Tight. (Yes I love the melodies) Still wish Nightwish and Unleash the Archers best concert ever.

Glad you enjoyed the interview! and whether you like the same things or not... as long as you have fun with the music, that's all that counts ;)
Great interview! I was over on the left side of the floor at the barricade screaming my lungs out with the songs! Love UTA!
Awesome! Sorry for running in front of you with my camera from time to time then 😅😅😅 what was your favorite song of the set?

So awesome to see your passion for this wonderful band and singer!
So power Brittney has become super mom, congrats to the little one.
Looking forward to the new album.

Super happy for you that you got to discover this great band!
Thank both of you for this video!
Have seen Britney nailing it at the Ayreon show in Tilburg and can't wait to see UTA at Wacken Open Air 2024 🤘🏼!
Glad you liked the video!
Great band, great singer/person. Good choice of interviews, Jasper!

The countdown to the new album is on! What has been your favourite UtA album or song so far?
A wild Fang appearance at the end! Nice work!!! Love these interviews!
Thanks! More coming 👊
Coolest band right now.
One of the best!

I agree that they are a special band! What's your favorite song/album?? 🏹🏹🏹

Playing in Wacken will be nice, but don't be surprised if Rockharz becomes the better experience. Fortunately, I will be able to see both shows 🤘🤘
I'm jealous! And yes I hear you ... Germany has great festivals beyond the legendary Wacken
My favourite UTA rhyme is in Return to Me where she rhymes "Hour" with "Power", both as one-syllable words!
👊😁

That's definitely an interesting thought! Thanks for sharing 🤘
🐕love UtA
They're one of the best!

That Ostrogoth shirt is pretty awesome.
Thanks! I got it from Ostrogoth's drummer Grizzly himself!

Love you, Sabrina! You're a pretty girl in cheeseburgers!
