Thank you for this tutorial. I'm a retired guy working on my very first quilt as well as being new to using a sewing machine. It's great to get different perspectives from different people on their methods of doing these basic things, especially when you're new to the type of work involved. Also, thank you for not cutting from the video the mistake you made when your ruler slipped. I've already done that on long cuts, but it's nice that you showed what can happen and you talked about it. Have a great day.
I’m so excited for you to be embarking on your sewing and quilting journey! Please don’t hesitate to ask any questions that come up as you get going. And yes! Sometimes mistakes happen and it’s always refreshing to keep it real and work through the mistakes - normally they’re not as detrimental as they feel at first 😆
enjoyed tutorial video I hope to make a quilt. have been a bit intimidated thinking how hard it looked mom did it all by hand with scissors and needle and thread.
It’s so much easier with modern cutting tools now like a rotary cutter! Thanks for watching and I hope you feel encouraged to start quilting soon! ❤️ Have you heard about my free quilting mini course? Check out homemadeemilyjane.com to learn more and get signed up
This beginner thanks you, however I did not see you square the fabric first. I did not think you could cut fabric before it is squared up. My cut fabric ends up wonky.
Yes! Check out the first cut right around the 10:30 part - you’ll see how awful the fabric was when I started. If you line up the top fold nice and straight and the bottom layers are straight, you’ll be square to start off with cutting your actual pieces 👍🏼

Not a fan of the whistling music. Your video was very informative.
noted! Never noticed how annoying the whistling is until now that you mention it. I cant go back to change it now though LOL
