- Jury selection in Donald Trump's 'hush money' trial hit an unexpected turn Thursday as one of seven jurors already chosen was dismissed, and questions about the background of another could disqualify them as well.
Judge Juan Merchan dismissed a juror who said she no longer thought she could render a fair and impartial verdict and said she worried she could be publicly identified after the publication of details about her employment and personal life.
Judge Merchan has now directed news outlets to refrain from reporting such employment information, even when it's in open court.
In addition, another juror failed to arrive in court on time on Thursday, and attorneys are now raising new questions about that juror's background.

What is a hush money trial? Aren’t all undisclosed settlements agreed to without a trial hush money cases and all be tried?
It's not illegal to pay hush money. What is though, is writing the money off as legal expenses. Which is what Orange Jesus admitted to.
The case is really about falsifying documents to disguise money paid to silence negative publicity prior to the election. Some of those documents were hiding 'hush money', but those payments are not a crime. It is the deception that is on trial.
They do not pay hush money, only settlements.
