I followed this recipe and you mango sour sauce for my born and raised Guyanese husband… I’m so proud of myself it turned out amazing!!! Thank you soo much Matt 😊
Of all the Guyanese RUclipsrs I have watched you have the best speaking language. It is always a pleasure following your recipes. Keep up the good work!
Your recipe is very good. Guyanese people make the best phoulrie. Instead of so much flour, I add grind dhall to the fresh mixture and I get a lot of compliments on the flavor
Just listened to your podcast on Tamarind Bredren. So sorry that you’ve had to deal with negative feedback. Please know that you have a huge following that supports you and love your content. Thank you for keeping Guyanese culture alive!!! Lots of love.

Matthew I tried this recipe and it came out so well. It is a good snack for a cold snowy day, like today. I am having it with some tamarind chutney. Thanks again for explaining this recipe.
Hi Matthew thankyou for sharing for recipes. Yep I remember making this pholourie in Trinidad with my grand mother. She made them the same way like this. grinding the soak dhal on the Sil and lorha. I used to help her sometimes. But I made more of a mess of it. Lol. Yes you are correct they did not add flour or b powder. She did it the old ways , she did not put any baking powder or flour in it.
This is a good recipe but I think most ppl are used to the flour polhourie. It's cheaper to make so most school canteens sell those. I didn't really enjoy this one as much because of the texture but the flavors were on point. Thanks.
Yeah my mom use to make it with no flour then later we start to do half flour and half dall mixture or dall flour with baking powder I also know some people only use flour and yeast and clour

Will do one day.
DONT MAKE A BOOK.. JUST OPEN A RESTAURANT AND I WILL COME AND EAT.... MAIN COURSE... DHAL RICE AND CURRY GOAT AND DUCK... SHOOOOO MY MOUTH WATERING
All this time I thought it was curry inside but it’s turmeric! Nice !!
Thank you for watching. I am not sure why people started adding curry powder, but it isn't a traditional ingredient for pholourie in our family.
Curry is tumeric with seasoning.
Well done 👍🏽 and the music 🎶 at the intro brought back so much h memories
Thank you so much!

Instead of regular flour, Rice flour is an option. Makes it crunchier.

@@matthewsguyanesecooking4601 ok I'll check.
I do baking powder
Yes some people do and some people dont
How about some yeast.
The traditional Guyanese pholourie made with fresh dhal doesn't have yeast. Some versions do. This one isn't meant to be super fluffy
I wanted to cry when the peas were put in and a few of them were on the upper part of the knife segment and not in the bowl 😭
Waaaa!
