Matt, I went from having a 2012 C2S 991.1 manual and 2018 M550i to a 2019 M5 Competition and would love to have you drive the Competition and see what difference you feel. I agree that it is a monster in acceleration even compared to the 911.

Now, after G30 and G30 restyling, on my humble opinion, BMW would got huge design problems in future. Look at new Mercedes CLS... Its ridiculous... Also, present model of "S" class reached top design. Look at new BMW 3 series rear lights. Not better than previous 3 series. Problem!!! Those are great tail lights but if not BMW emblem, its like some Hyundai or KIA. But unthil then, BMW - WELL DONE FOR THIS MASTERPIECE!!!

The M5 starts at $210,000 here in Australia thanks to our 33% federal luxury car tax, goods & services tax and EU import tariffs. The best luxury performance car you can buy that just manages to avoid most of the tax is a Kia Stinger which can be had for $65,000 for V6 TT fully loaded.

Future classics...after the whole v10 fiasco and lawsuit in 2011 bmw has stepped it up tho..I grew up wit bmw 94 328i,97 750il,2000 330ci, 2011 550xdrive, 2014 328xdrive,2013 m5...and this is only my bmw list I've had Acura and honda too..close to me...hmmm pontiac, buick,nissan, oldsmobile...but honda and bmw are my heart...bmw is always best feeling when nothing is wrong...but they did required more mechanical maintenance and it kinda turned me away from bmw for awhile...I mean all cars cost to maintain..but 2,000 a year is comfortable,,but the 90's model would be in the shop constant...it's not so much the money but the inconvenience that turned me away..2011 felt built better than 90's and early 2000 ,but 2013-2018 is the gems

BMW, plz do me a favor. Redesign this car to look more like the new 2019 3 series (but with the M package). Thank you. Not that I think this M5 is ugly. But, its styling could've been better. It looks a bit squarish, in my opinion. But I think you guys hit a huge homerun with the design of the new 3 series (just like you did with the E39 M5 and M6 Gran Coupe).

Helcat struggles to put it's power down anywhere other then a prepped drag strip and also the m5 can take corners and is refined
They did not cut any corners, just do some research or consult BMW if you need to know why they designed the center console panels without padding
