  • We sit down to quickly go over where we've been for the last couple of years and what we have planned to come. RUclips has not been the highest priority for some time and we are aiming to improve upon that.

    Maybe a composite "Wav" in the near future? 6w x12 l x6 h ?

    Wow Man! That's Heavy brother 😎 👍 since Mr. Shires got into politics, I assumed future innovation would come to a halt.
    I would be interested in something a little bigger like a Casita or Scamp. Us older folks needs something big enough to stand in to get dressed and the like.
    As always, Thumbs up 👍

      Keep a lookout, we have 20 of our 4x8s running around Australia. Had a dealer import them almost 10 years ago 😬

    Hope the new models include a 5x8 Venturist. The 6x8 never made any sense! A 5x9 or 10 would be the next best options.

    • @runawaycampers
      @runawaycampers  10 месяцев назад +1

      Unfortunately it does not, going 5ft wide is likely not going to happen any time soon for us. The 6x8 is the biggest seller for us by far. What would be the advantage of loosing the 6in off each side for you?

    • @rbrADV
      @rbrADV 10 месяцев назад +1

      Six foot is too wide for Jeeps and mid-size trucks that actually go offroad. If you think the 6x8 is the best seller, why do ALL the other brands only build 5x8 so the trailers follow the same track? A 5x8 would outsell your 4x8 and 6x8 combined!

    • @runawaycampers
      @runawaycampers  10 месяцев назад +1

      A 5x8 would still be wider than the track width unless you tuck the wheels under the body. If the goal is to be the same track width, then the 4x8 is exactly that. As for other companies sales I can’t speak to those but we build one 4x8 to every 7 6x8s when it comes to the Venturist. What I can say is that a 5x8 cost of materials is within $100 of a 6x8 (for us) so if we built a 5x8 it would essentially be the same cost as a 6x8. That would likely lead to the only people buying a 5x8 to people that are dead set like yourself. Now there’s a handful of ways we could go from there but most of them end up with us charging more for something to keep it on as a product or dropping the lowest seller completely. As an avid off-roader I get the argument and as a company we have weighed the outcomes.

    We have spent 4 years 'thinking about it' and finally decided to start our savings account for a Runaway. We came in (pre covid) and looked at your models on site, and follow many channels here on You Tube. A big attraction for us is the family business and Runaway community- including the rallies. When you say there is a new facility going up on the property next door...does that mean it is going to be where you currently host the campers? Will the rallies continue? Sorry I'm like many consumers, and I want ALL the things lol....oh congrats on your baby girl.

    • @runawaycampers
      @runawaycampers  10 месяцев назад

      First off, congratulations on starting your savings and we are excited to have you. Also, thank you. Now you ask a very good question… yes, the new building is going on the same property where we hold the rally, but it actually doesn’t hinder the space we hold the rally on. If anything we might be able to expand and allow more people to come to the rally because of the build. 😁

    Been looking at the other models. Considering a purchase. One big problem. Why do none of them have ceiling exhaust fans or vents?

    • @runawaycampers
      @runawaycampers  10 месяцев назад +1

      Well up until 2020 we built out of wood and had no desire to add in one of the top leaking problems. Now that we don’t build out of wood it actually starts to make sense and we might be looking at that in the near future. In the interim we have had customers at them after the fact but with the small space they aren’t really needed like they are on large rv’s.

      @@runawaycampers
      When the designers/builders went to fiberglass aware of previous leaking issues, that didn't come up with the new design? Its been a few years since the change.
      I'd think the smaller campers need that exhaust the most considering the build up of condensation (and stagnant air) in such a tight space.
      Thanks for the reply!

    • @runawaycampers
      @runawaycampers  10 месяцев назад

      The leaking issue is more of a general rv issue not specific to us. It's kind of the nature of the beast, more holes you have, more possibility for leaks. It has been a few years, but again it's not generally a big concern, when you have an a/c and the ability to open two (or three if you choose) windows. I would guess that there is more ventilation per square foot with the two windows vs a standard rv. It's purely preference and I'm aware of the demand, hints why we might be looking at it being an option in the future. Definitely a higher demand for roof vents vs people not wanting the a/c :)

    Wish you would give the option of ordering your trailers WITHOUT an air condtioner. That's the reason I didn't purchase one.

    • @runawaycampers
      @runawaycampers  10 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately for production it doesn't make sense and price wise it doesn't make a big enough difference for most people to want to delete it. The Venturist is the only model that is even close to being made per order so depending on the where we are in production thats the only time it's currently considered. Out of curiosity and further understanding, why wouldn't you want a/c?

      @@runawaycampers Because I boondock - don't stay in campgrounds and tend to camp when/where I don't need one anyway.

      OK, so you're in the same category I'm in. I hate the heat and much rather camp in the cold. The discount for not having a/c (when we do it) is only $150, so for most it makes sense just on the resale side to have it. I almost never use mine. The few times I have its been in places, during times of the year, that it shouldn't have been necessary, but it was. In those moments I was happy I had it.

    You guys need to make some concessions to customers needs to ad optional accessories.
    MaxxAire fan installation, you can’t run A/C when not on shore power and generators suck.
    Enhanced electrical wiring, solar generators are the deafacto standard for small trailers and trailer should be ready to plug and play in 2023.
    Rain guards over all windows and doors or along roofline. Come on, this is basic stuff.
    Rear window option with door option.
    Guys, there is NO excuse for delivering trainers with 3 different kits to 3 different doors 🤬
