Love the RGB implementation on this case. Normally when brands say 'RGB' I'm like "ah fak not again", but really loving the simple RGB aesthetics of this case. Good work, Corsair.
IMHO, they actually perfected the placement of the 2.5" drives as well as the 3.5" drives, about 95%. I think they could've gotten a third 2.5" drive mounting location under the CPU socket cut out if they tried. Outside of that AIO 360 support, plenty of drive support, top and rear fans in exhaust. It's a good case overall! Nice review of the chassis, Tom! ;)
I believe the SSD mounts at the front of the case are meant to mount to the back side of the tray and not inside the main chamber. The indent between the mounts is right up against the bottom of the drive and I don't think cables would fit. It looks like it would make more sense to mount the drives to the back of the MB tray and the indent is there to allow for more space for the cables so they don't push hard on the SSD connections. Plus, the mounting points are indented towards the back and not into the main chamber. Not sure that the SSD screws would reach the SSD if it was mounted on the inside. Corsair, in their marketing video, shows the drives mounted to the back of the tray as well. ruclips.net/video/wnA3QvgO6Ks/видео.html
I should have read the comments before I commented a little while ago haha! I was really looking forward to mounting 2 identical drives in the front on those mounting spots. Oh well. I did manage to get them screwed in a enough to stay in place using the intended screws from the case parts bag, but no luck getting the sata or power cable to come through enough as the connections on the drives only have about 2mm of space at most between them and the white case metal. I must say though, it's fairly close to fitting so I think I might do some brainstorming and see if there's a way to mount them there. I'm building a Ryzen 3 2200G rig without a video card so it's going to be pretty bare inside, I wanted some hardware visible from the front so I'm going to try to make this happen.
not trash since they have small spacing for intake if you buy two extra intake fans on the front its would be good but if you want the best airflow then use Fractal Design Meshify c and Silverstone RL06
how are the thermals in that thing, did they give the front enough vents or is it lacking airflow as it looks? looks like plugs will be a bit tough to plug in on the bottom of the motherboard as well, a bit of finger room would have been nice there. I really don't get why case makers cant add 30 more mm above the motherboard in total case height for a rad to actually fit there without conflicting with the motherboard stuff. Is the extra few grams of shipping weight that overwhelming for them, or is it wanting to pretend to be an iTX case at the expense of stuff actually fitting in them that they all got stuck on the past few years? Great vid. B)
I bet the airflow is fine as I have the spec alpha which if you look and compare them they seem similar in openess and holes/mesh all around the case. My temps are actually ok in my case
I have the red and black version with the red only lighting. Sort of goes with the whole red and black theme of my setup, and I do love it. Great looking case, good air flow, tons of room for cooling fans. Good cable management options if you're into that, I personally don't care. Vertical mount GPU support if you want to show off your video card. I have TWO gripes, one with the case itself, and one with the red light version. All of the non RGB ones come with a smoked tempered glass, it looks good if you don't plan on any case fan lighting, unless it's bright as all hell. I'm currently using red corsair quiets and you can barely see the red glow inside through the smoked glass. Might be better with brighter colors, but that sort of ruins the red and black theme. the other gripe is the placement of the power and reset buttons. Once in a while I like to plug speakers into the top mount IO, and it's way to easy to hit the reset button. The other is plugging anything into the left side USB 3 front IO, you can hit that power button super easy. For some reason hitting the power button just shuts it down, probably something on my end, but it's still annoying to have it where you can press it so easy. One other non gripe is lack of front USB. For a $100 CDN case, it only has two front USB 3. My wife has a cheaper Deepcool, not a bad case for the price, and it even has 4 USB 3 front IO, along with built in fan speed control.
Yeah well their supposed to be mounted on the backside. I don't think he actually ever mounted them on the front side because there's not enough room to connect the cables to the drives connections. It's only off by a very small amount though so I think with some small modifications they will be able to get mounted there.
Liking this case, your cable management is pretty good, and glad you mentioned the SSD front mount, i wouldn't have noticed that. For the RGB, Can you plug in the case RGB to a motherboard header? Wondering if you can use it with Asus Aura software? If not, would it be possible to cut off the controller and solder/rewire it to go on a motherboard header?
6:40 more real estate and cost more? thermaltake h200 has a rgb button infront and cost less then this case and looks the same. Also their tempered glass is a door not a panel so no need for taking screws out but possible to be removed
I’ve noticed everyone using this case have not installed their ssd’s I just got the case and all four places to install the ssd are too small for my Samsung 860 QVO
is there enough space to install things behind the vertical gpu? such as a capture card or another graphics card? (i'm thinking of dual booting mac aswell, so having a dedicated amd gpu hidden behind my main gpu would be pretty cool.)
I can't seem to figure out where to install the RGB 3 pin cable from the RGB controller. I plugged them onto my RGB pins, and System fan pins on my motherboard, but the RGB refuses to light up. I already have the SATA cable plugged in... Any help would be appreciated, thank you.
Hello did you solve your issue in in the same exact situation I dont where I should put the rgb led front panel cable into the mobo, can u tell me how did u fix this
Im wondering if the stock cooler of Ryzen 3700x, 3800x, 3900x are worth keeping or better to put a better cooler on it right away. If you're not overclocking that is. I like to keep everything stock.
TTL, I tried reaching out to Corsair George & Corsair on Twitter, but I'm having an issue with the power switch on the Spec 06. Does the button your case have spring or feel like it actually presses in? I only ask because I built a whole system (I was using the power button on the board to turn the system on and off) and when I finally went to go plug the header wires in, the power button does not function nor is there a "button" feel to it. It doesn't press down, it just feels flat. When the header wire is plugged in, as soon as I turn the PSU on, the system tries to boot (like the switch is being held down) and then second later, it will turn off (again, like the power switch is held down). It will do that 2 or 3 times and then just stop responding for a bit and then try again. There isn't anything wrong with the header, as using a screw driver to jump it turns the system on and off fine. I had Amazon send me a second one and it is literally the same exact thing. Can you provide any insight?
Had that too , unscrew the red front , there are 2 screws at the glass side and 1 on the other side, push it up after and it will be off, test the power button (white) and then press a bit to test the outer button on the red panel. Place it back but dont place the screws back. Put back the Black panel and it will be alright after that.
I believe the screws is the problem they push the red panel more than needed (the black panel holds it in place as normal dont worry) and the power switch gets stuck down.
I'm building in this same case but with tempered glass right now. Everything's going great and I really like it other than this one issue. I've mounted 2 Kingston Q500 SSDs in the front to the right as mentioned in this video. I can't for the life of me get the sata or power connections to plug in through the gaps. The gaps just seem too small. I'm using a Corsair CX550 PSU. I don't have any other SSDs or 2.5" drives to test to see if they'll plug in easier. I know these Q500 drives are fairly new. Is it possible that they are different somehow? If anyone has any suggestions or info please let me know. And yes I've tried with the power connector that's all the way at the end of the cable so there's not more cable/wires getting in the way. I'm going for an all black & white build and want the drives to show from the front. Thanks guys.
There’s a Version of this exact case without the RGB on the front but you should be able to either through the iCUE software or the actual buttons on the case

I'm only joking mate it's actually great to have mid-day videos for a half an hour tea break :-D On some notes: I love that you used a high end SSD as a make-do ruler for the AIO / RAM clearance measurement. I like this case, great mid-segment case really. I especially loved the cut out for the front 2.5" mounts. If I were doing a build, I would mount both SSDs the right way round instead of one upside down but with the cables to the bottom one routed underneath the motherboard tray from that opening. A front mount AIO would cover these so much unfortunately. Great review as always :-D
i had a computer build for a local business and the case they wanted there was no space in the back so the 8 pin and 24 had to be mounted in the main compartment. there was literally .5mm space between he tray and the back of the case.
#help I bought this case off of Newegg and when going to put in the power supply I noticed I have no rgb controller and there seems to be no bracket any ideas?

On some notes: I love that you used a high end SSD as a make-do ruler for the AIO / RAM clearance measurement.
Another great video I enjoy watching your reviews Im looking for a nice mid tower case thats compact but big enough to house my x62 aio
Has anyone ever routed an 8-pin from the bottom up in the front of the motherboard? :D Sounds deranged.
Ive seen it a lot :/
i had a computer build for a local business and the case they wanted there was no space in the back so the 8 pin and 24 had to be mounted in the main compartment. there was literally .5mm space between he tray and the back of the case.
#help I bought this case off of Newegg and when going to put in the power supply I noticed I have no rgb controller and there seems to be no bracket any ideas?
Hello , is the colorful fan that was shown in the video comes with the case?
I'm so tempted to buy this case for my first build but idk if the components will fit...triggered😂
You mean if the gpu or cpu cooler fits or literally all the components?
Azri Azhari yeah I mean like everything lol
@@lvolanteml Oh lol. What're the components that you have in mind? I'll help you with checking their compatibility
Azri Azhari so I'm getting z370p D3 gigabyte motherboard, deepcool cpu cooler(GAMMAXX 400 WHITE), arctic F12 pwm 120 mm fans, Gtx 1070ti ftw, seagate 1tb Barracuda mechanical drive, ballistix sport LT 16gb kit (8gbX2) ddr4, adata su800 512gb ssd, and evga 750W 80+ GQ Gold semi modular Power Supply, also getting some led strips
Do the included fans have RGB lighting?
No
I have that case very nice for the price. on a side note maybe spend a little more time in your cables, might just be my OCD but......
Damn that looks cool
I would love to see a TTL review of the Stryker SE ... would be very "blast from the past" 'ish xD
4:25 lol
is there any HDD/SSD activity light please?
Nope
I wish it had like 3 or 4 USB ports because I have to buy a 40$ USB port
