Actually no it's not the hinge it's the small braket on the end of the folding screen it's not that tight the screen after my first fall went over the braket not letting me fully open it the hinge works perfectly but still its design error
until today, I had the exact same problem. Dirt accumulates under the hinge over time, which is why it can no longer be opened properly. The solution is to hold the phone under warm water (yes, it's actually waterproof), then open and close it several times. This will rinse the dirt out of the device, and it will open normally again.

dropped mine after 4 week. it landed on the hing and is the same. won't open properly. not happy. it's a brittle phone.
Yes it is a fragile phone
That means you need to change the hinge! Good job samsung for taking our money!:)
Thats a good tip thanks
I have my z flip 3 now 1 year, i have since 2 months the same problem and my display has scratches in the middle
But those problems don't disturb me🤷♂️
Soon your display will get damaged as same happened to me in fold 2
I belive you need to subscribe to open the phone all the way out!
it looks like something went in between and stops it from opening fully.
Did you even remove the plastic protection film over the hinge?
Yes, after i remove the plastic protection film over the hinge, my phone look like thatt 😢
To the people who own any samsung flip, DONT flip it open witj force or fast just open it
These idiots over here blaming Samsung for them not taking good care of their devices. I bought one for my mom and another for my 11-year-old niece, no issues with theirs and I got it for them the day it launched! If an 11-year-old hasn't broken hers, then what's the excuse for this adult? 🙄
😂 too Expensive phone for a 11 years old
@Mik - Nope, it teaches them responsibility!
I've had it for over a year now it's fine
I don't get what the point of adding a point of failure to a phone and making the price possibly over 1000
Not 100% the same problem, but my fold 3 is just Opening 90-95%. After I went to a samsung Service Point they informed me that this is normal for a folding device after 1 year of using. Would never believe in Samsung again after such a shame for 1.900€.
That is very bs I don't know about the 3 but in the 4 next to the middle we have a small bracket that is holding the screen and for some reason it's not very tight mine with the first drop got under the screen and I fixed it myself my phone opened only 3cm, the hinges are different but for sure samsung wouldn't put a hinge that lasts only a year what are they iphone batteries ?
Same happened to me in fold 2 in one year of use! Stupid samsung!
Did you try put it on rice?
Mine can't close anymore otherwise it will automatically turn off 😢😢
