Watched him yesterday live here in ph and it was none of these flashy 1 minute riffs or whatever you call it which I was of course, expecting. This dude played instead something more ethereal sounding and soulful which by the end of the show I have come to love more. Listening to him live made me realize how one can truly bare out his soul through strings and wood. ❤

Always blown away by everything I see here. This is no exception. Crazy good and fun to listen to
I remember when I started playing guitar 20 years ago a lot of people told me that I couldn't play rock or metal with a classical guitar even though I liked how sweet child o mine sounded on classical acoustic, in fact i had to relearn the intro in order to adapt it at the lower frets, note by note with 2 years of experience , then I grabbed a bass and started using a pick and everybody was "oh you cant use a pick with a bass", then I focused more on classical pieces with my classical guitar and then my teacher was like "oh your right hand is crooked you should focus more on hand technique than learning to play",
This guy is a true example that you should not let anything get between your imagination and your way to express what you can do on a instrument because there is no "wrong way to play an instrument" if you want to play it with your feet then do it, I don't believe in that crap that somebody around the 1700' dictated the proper way to play an instrument and that's how everybody should play it...yes some techniques are crucial but if its something stupid that its limiting you in a way that you no longer want to play the instrument or taking the passion out of it, I say forget it do what you want and grab that instrument and go beyond its limits with your creativity and imagination, enjoy it, drink it like morning coffee

So we all know ichika and Tim have similar playing styles. And are both renown amazing guitarist. But when I say the speed is getting too much I mean it takes away a lot of feeling. Almost like how a beautiful dream is only a flash of memory. So I listened to one of Henson’s songs at 0.75 speed and it worked so well, I did the same for this. It did not disappoint
Just did that and it gave the song a whole new dimention for me, thanks for the tip
The whole time I was watching this I was thinking "There might be a chance I could try to learn this, but it seems daunting to try and play this so fast," but after hearing how much groovier it sounds at 0.75 speed makes me want to build my whole style around that punchy sound with a lazy groove. Then I can sound good and my ego can take a rest with me trying and failing with all the fast playing I should stop idolizing.

I completely understand what people mean when they say you don’t know how to play a nylon string guitar. What you’re playing is a walk in the park compared to Agustin Barrios Mangore, Paco De Lucia, Sabaicas, Etc. You can only do so much with a pick. The classical way of playing the guitar is where the true potential of the guitar and it’s abilities are unlocked.

I think he's using a paralel compression with settings that saturates a bit the overall sound, while keeps some of the original signal to keep the nylon natural tone.
