The carvajal slander is wild, he’s been nothing but clutch and showed grit in every matchup
6 UCLs and has no hype.
These guys are delusional crackheads for saying that he doesn’t “deserve to play in Real Madrid” he’s better than all of them in their prime combined 😂
A big match player indeed
Saying Carvajal maybe doesn't deserve to play for real madrid is one of the wildest takes I've ever heard in my entire life, if you think of all the crucial goals madrid have scored in the last 10 years years a lot of them were because of carvajal's crosses or plays that he was involved in i.e the 2nd goal against man city 2 years ago or the most perfect bicycle kick you will ever see in your life both were assisted by him to name a few, he is good defensively, hes aggresive, rarely makes a mistake and usually repairs it, his work rate is insane, and as I mentioned earlier I don't think there are many fullbacks with so many crucial assist in big moments, hes one of the best right backs in the history of the sport
Frank doesn’t know much about he’s talking about, just talks nonsense which is what a lot of these guys do
@@prakashparsai6104 Yea you're right but this is mind boggling to me because he's a former player, and an accomplished one as well.... maybe he's just biased or maybe old age got to him but idk its still a very weird statement to make by a former professional football player
Just listen again
@@dpak39977 I know what he wanted to say, he meant that at real madrid not only the superstars show up on big occasions but everyone in that team can, because they have that self belief, and dani carvajal which isn't a goal scoring super-star did just that tonight, but the way he phrased it came out extremely bad because nobody in their right mind ever said "maybe he shouldn't play for real madrid", that's just a stupid thing to say.
I'm telling you guys, these 'pundits' have less knowledge about team and players than us fans... we don't need to listen to these 'cuntists'
Man i swear Madrid mastered the art of soaking pressure and strike when it matters the most. As soon as BVB coash subs Adyami who was their best player, Caravjal got more freedom to roam. What a great win by RM.
I was so happy he did that, because Dortmund actually had me shook the whole time. But Madrid was also wearing them out slowly too basically.
Dortmund coach made them lost. He did the same mistake against PSG in the second leg, but PSG failed to capitalize on the left side when he took Adeyemi off. Maatsen is a young inexperienced player, but Adeyemi supporting him always gives him confidence. Adeyemi always use his fast pace to track back and bail Maatsen out.
@@seuna.8438no way you can blame the coach on this one.. Dortmund were by far the better team for an hour, it’s not the coach fault the players couldn’t finish their dinner
@@LeoBov1Maybe look at the stats kid not Madrid's fault they ar just more clinical
It wasn't a great win, it was a very lucky win like if Dortmund had clinical finishers the game would be over by halftime.
Its Ancelotti. Once they meet up in the dressing room at the half he gives the whole team +5 to every stat.
Changed everybody's card from normal to FUT
This is madrids play
Carlo Ancelotti card skill
-5 stat for players first half
+5 stat for players second half, another +2 on non stars
Big Belgian wall card
+5 stat for goalie when teammates have debuffs
Englands hope card
+5 for media coverage lol
That and the Sicilian sports "psychologists" half time pep talk...legendary
Carlo is the GOAT, to win 5 CL as a coach is wild
And twice as a player.
They learn their mistakes in the first half and come back in the second half to kill their opponents
Carlo put belli next to kross for more balance
No. It was the changes that Ancelotti made that was the difference.
As you said, the manager tells them where they are going wrong and tweak their positioning and play them to the best of their abilities.
Dortmund has a very good tactical plan and they executed it before 1st goal

Nahhh tune it up louder!!! The music is 🔥
Yeah music ruined Extra Time for me
Then go and listen to a music video. @@hattrick257
Music seems interesting more than their football analysis...
They absorb pressure and let the other side tire themselves out. And they have the confidence that they can play better when they need to, whenever they need to.
I like that approach. Ancelotti is saying, you can be the better team on the field for 70 minutes yet we won't concede. But for the last 20 minutes, we will be the best team in the world, and you can't stop us.
Credit goes to Pintus for instilling that endurance in the squad, Davide for being the "devil's advocate" for his father, and Juni Calafat for picking out players who are Madridistas to the core.
Real Madrid learned from Muhammad Ali I feel like. They allow you to do what you do best. They allow you to feel confident. To show them the best move you have in your tool bag. The moment the game reaches the 55th minute or so. That's when the game actually starts for Madrid. They say, "alright you gave us everything now take this." It's not a coincidence every final recently in the champions League won by Real, the first half is dreadful. You can't even believe that they are playing. But boy oh boy do they make you crack once they say it's time to play. Top conditioning. Top mentality. Top performance. They genuinely leave everything on the field.
Best comment...👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾
That is why Don Carlo is the most fitting manager for Real Madrid in modern football.
Carlo Ancelotti grew up in a dairy farm, where he learned the value of rigorous work, suffering and patience.
"You plant today, and harvest one year or two years later. This is my philosophy with football, it's my style, my way of life. You can't be anxious for the result. If you've done the proper things, it will come."
- Carlo Ancelotti.
Like an old boxer going up against a strong, fast, hyped up newcomer. They size up the opposite in the first rounds and may look like they’re up against the ropes for most of it, until they knock out the opposition without warning.
For me carvajal always do something at the moment of needs throughout season. Either assist or goal or other contribution
Madrid have the power of friendship and as soon as Ancelotti winks his eyebrow all of a sudden, Real Madrid becomes a different team and clicks into full gear in the 2nd half.
😂👍🏽
Do not mess with Ancelotti's deadly "People's Eyebrow" routine... BVB went straight to "Know Your Role Boulevard" in the 2nd half 😂
Madrid have the power of referees*
They play better when they remember to have fun.

1955-1966.. Real Madrid 6 titles, Inter 2, Benfica 2, Milan 1. They say Ohh that black and white era no competition, franco team and so on.
2013-2024.. Real Madrid 6 titles, Bayern 1, Liverpool 1, Barcelona 1, Chelsea 1, Man City 1.
No words needed💯
The spirit of black and white Francisco Franco lingers, like Sauron in Middle Earth..
They are the kings indeed. As a huge Real madrid critic, they always prove me wrong
Thank you for saying this. I was just telling a friend exactly the same thing, that from 2000-2024 Madrid has won 8 champions league which is insane. Madrid is simply the best 🤍🤍
Now it is Var and ref and everything.
I'm spanish and Madrid has millions of left wing fans, and also players and coaches, I could mention many. Although I think the spanish fan base leans more to conservative. Franco has nothing to do with it. I was not who started to talk over politics though. Also Barcelona fans leans more to communist and catalan separatists, but they also have nazi and falangist fans (I could mention a few). Ronaldinho supported Bolsonaro, Messi is obvious that he voted conservative in Argentina, he lives in Florida, the most conservative place in US. That to show you how "liberal" they are.
Real Madrid in the last 20 minutes of the game switched on from the entire game, they looked like what Ancelotti was talking about.
They knew they had Dortmund exhausted and they took advantage and unfortunately for Dortmund they couldn’t sub everybody off, their whole back line were running on fumes
Vinicius deserve his flowers as a world class player ESPN not your biased analysis
I can't believe Don Carlo actually managed Everton. It's like Vincent Kompany managing Bayern Munich, no, wait. Bizarro's World Cup.
Before that he already was on a kinda bad run, bayern time was strange, napoli wasnt good, then everton..
Leverkusen won their first bundesliga with 0 loss, all top 5 League have a surprise UCL club (Bologna, Villa, Girona, VfB, Brest), Chelsea somehow securing 6th place..
Bayern hired an 8th choice on their list, Crazy season
He managed Everton, they were 10th place, he called Perez to try and get players on loan for the next season and just asked hey, what are you doing about coaching next year, and Perez had a light bulb go off. It's just crazy. His coaching career was over, he was either going to keep coaching small clubs or retire, and all of a sudden he's back on top winning UCLs.
It's definitely the reason I'm not discounting what Kompany could do for Bayern. If he fits their culture it could work out. The difference of course is that Carlo already had success with Real and won championships in every other big league, and he was coming back. He had experience and knew what the pressure would be like. Kompany doesn't have a lot of experience, never coached at that level. It could be a spectacular blow up
Even though Kylian Mbappe is finally going to Real Madrid and I have no issue when world class players go to a club like that, I still think that staying at PSG in the first place was a massive mistake for him. 3-4 years ago was when Real Madrid really needed Mbappe. From 2018-2021, they went through a transitional period where they lacked a genuine superstar after Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure they too so many years getting used to not having to rely solely on him, apart from Karim Benzema who was their only elite attacker, their attack was very inconsistent as Eden Hazard was never able to replicate his Chelsea form and was a shadow of his former self, Gareth Bale was nowhere near the squad and Vinicius Junior wasn’t the player that he is right now. At the time they really needed a superstar like Mbappe. Unfortunately he decided to stay at PSG for a little longer and while he’s still yet to win a champions league title even though he played with Messi and Neymar, Real Madrid have been doing well of late. You look at Real Madrid in the last 3 seasons, they’ve won 2 champions league titles their team is stacked so star studded Vinicius Junior is now a world class player and Jude Bellingham has been a great signing for them and the profile of what this team really needs in the transfer market is an out and out striker as that’s the player that they’re still lacking in the team.
He had not stayed at PSG, he would have 2 UCL titles by now and we wouldn’t be having this conversation about whether or not they need him. Real Madrid sign the best players in the world and they have no choice but to sign Mbappe because he wants to go there and with him a free agent they know that other clubs would’ve been in the race to sign him. With or without Mbappe it doesn’t matter because they win the UCL regardless of who they have in their team. Getting a player of that caliber on your team will make you even better, but after winning the champions league once again and they’re about to have another Ballon Dor winner on the team, it’s very obvious to football fans that Kylian Mbappe needs Real Madrid more than Real Madrid needs him.
I think the difference is that Eden was already older and had some injuries when he finally showed up. Kylian is still young and has a lot of prime years left to have success with Real Madrid.
There's no way to know he would've had two UCLs if he joined three years ago. Back then, it would've meant Vini or Rodrigo are gone (Vini today and Vini 3-4 years ago aren't the same thing). Some of the players Perez brought after Mbappe stayed at PSG wouldn't be there either, he couldn't afford Kylian and Camavinga and Tchoumani.
On the other hand, with Mbappe they might've won more, there's really no way to know. It's all a what-if.
Cristiano showed up after winning UCL with United, he was 24. Kylian is 25. Just like it didn't hurt Cristiano to join at that age, it's not going to hurt Kylian. I think the fact that Vini has 3 more years of experience and confidence will make it easier. He already started playing in the middle a few times this season and said he likes it better.
In the end, Mbappe will win several UCLs because that's what happens with Real Madrid and if he scores those crucial goals just like Cristiano did, he'll get all the accolades as well.
@@Ishai1I think that the difference with Cristiano is that, since Madrid didn't Win the Champions League for a while (ok, seven years is not an eternity), he came for the aura (like Schumacher going to Ferrari) and he helped deliver lá décima (after five years) and was a record breaking machine. Mbappe going to Madrid four years ago would feel that a passage of the baton, the club would have a clear cut attacking superstar. Of course that, as you said, we can't know that the team would have won the two CL by now.
One of the two smartest comments in here! Spot on!
Don Carlo 2nd half he changed their positions played well took their chances and won Real Madrid don’t play finals they win
They adapt to their opponent

They have the squad depth they have the experience so i was pretty sure if dortmund doesn’t kill madrid early then slowly madrid gonna find rhythm and once that happens the engines are heated then its tough to stop 🛑
In game adjustments are so under discussed and undervalued
I think the reason why it's not talked about much is because those are very fine details that only those on the squad can fully understand. Even a great-player-turned-pundit like Thierry Henry doesn't go deep into those because they can be horribly wrong, since only the players and managers know why they do what they do.
The guy in the soundbooth is a Madrid fan. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

@bernardfox9078 true, city are the better team. Madrid is just transition and yet they still won. Tells you something about the magnitude of the clubs.
Carvajal in terms of titles is the best RB of all time. In pure footballing terms, he might not be the flashiest full back or the fastest, but he is the epitome of hardwork, discipline and mental strength. For a 'less talented' player, the number of crucial assists he has given is insane. He might not be the same as he was between 2015-2020, but he is still a workhorse. Also, he was the only one who kept Lahm out of Bundesliga team of the season in his prime. It wasn't a fluke.

The music is too loud and annoying to listen. ESPN please remember next time.
I hate to say it but Real managed the game perfectly once again, they know when to pick their moments. Dortmund were going all out during the game but didn't score and it cost them in the second half. The first goal is lazy marking and the second goal was a mistake from a tired and dejected player. There is a reason why you almost never see Real extremely tired, they stay disciplined defensively without exerting themselves. Real knows that Dortmund's scoring window passed after those misses.
🤨 This is the reason.
Mbappe the new Kevin Durant in club football ... But in international football he was already the man twice 2018, 2022 (world cup has a higher status than the Olympics I feel)
At least kevin durant didn't go to a team that won the year prior
You can not say that since Durant went to a team that did not just win a championship. Mbappe is going to a championship team
Durant was that guy long before he went to GS so that point is mute.
@@bngouhwarriors would of won that year beating Michael Jordan's record but the refs and commissioner benched Draymond so Cleveland could win a title... It was manipulated... And I'm from Cleveland.

RM is a well managed club both inside and outside football ground
It's Kroos n Modric show. The dsy both of them leaves RM will not show this level of consistency. We will see the cracks next season.
Real Madrid have a burning desire to win, they've experience & their team chemistry is second to none. Don Carlo has the ability to change things, mix things up. They can play without fear; they can play with fear & defend a lead.
He had a header from a corner before that went over the bar
same way ali test out his opponent strength and weaknesses in the first few rounds.
Real Madrid are in the business of winning and second place is an utter failure with no excuses. Compare to the English PL where coming second is somehow acceptable, even applauded e.g. Arsenal. This is wjhat sets the superior Spanish teams, owners and fans apart from the inferior English.
I promise you this, if Pep was coaching Madrid, it will be much more about why is Pep special moreso than why Madrid is special. It was this same coach that brought Madrid La Decima, brought change in the dressing room and open the door for more trophies. I want pundits to talk more about the coach. This dude has 5 UCL trophies as a coach, man that’s massive.
Please lower the ambient music
All tongues must confess and all heads must bow down this is the greatest team of all time
Background music TOO LOUD.
To the first question. Real Madrid actually do play better in the last 15 minutes. They also reserve energy until then. Especially players like Valverde.
The Extra Time music volume is usually at 2. Today it was 3.
There is two key turning points in the game:
1. The switch beteeen Kroos (to 6) and Camavinga (to 8) which created more balance and calmness in the midfield. I am amazed how no pundit in the world has noticed this😅
2. Subbing the quick left winger (Adiyeme?).
The chance where Adiyeme hit the post was offside mate, so what chance?
majority of dortmund chances were offside.
Im a Madrid fan and Ancelotti got the tactics wrong in the first half by pressing on Borussia. They should’ve held a low block instead that way BVB’s pace wouldn’t have been a problem. Rightly so they adjusted during the second half and after adyemi got subbed it was a different game.
They rely on cortois to bail them out like jurgen did with Allison. Real madrid like Liverpool rely on other team tiring out on second half and making mistakes which is what happened.
Music was still too
Loud
Madrid plays like this normally, not always. Usually Madrid starts games relaxed, playing very calm and then turns up the heat in second to try and win. Sometimes we start hard like vs Bayern in Bernabeu.
Carvajal doesn’t deserve to play for Real Madrid??! That wasn’t a bottle of wine u had..
Vini is a different beast from Madrid he jus needs to maintain that form for Brazil
ESPN the music is too loud.
Its black magic ✨
Nah white
The reason is because “gegenpressing” is a playstyle that Madrid struggles to create chances against so teams press high early to try and get a goal and Madrid focuses on being strong defensively. However, you can’t sustain this playstyle all game because your players get tired, and then once the pressure drops and Madrid becomes more comfortable on the ball, they score. Even back to the Zidane days they won UCL games like this.
Ale is 100 % guy who would roll for 5 min hahaha
Do we need Mbappe? Well yes! The fact that Reap is doing so good is the magic of Ancelotti and to some extent players which could run out any moment and then we can hit the bitter reality of having a team without a scorer
