@@sannieflakez1 idk I'm just guessing that its probably a big step if you are around so many non-mehrams if you aren't previously used to that irrespective of wearing the scarf. I mean personally being a Male, in a congregation inclusive of both genders, I think I'd also feel uncomfortable and weird if ygm. Probably more of a personal rather than spiritual thing.
@@tomandjerry2069 hm.. I mean yeah it’s not compulsory for the women to be at the nikkah but she still has to sign the papers herself. Also, if it’s at mosque, the women could have been in the women section, while listening to the men.

To be fair it wasn’t dowry. It was haq mehr. Dowry is what her parents would give to her.

Mashallah, congratulations. Wedding stuff aside is anyone shook by the 10K mahr? Obviously its a lady's haq to decide her own mahr but I'm kinda shook, like that's half a deposit for a house. (not slating for anyone who's going to reply with a lecture on mahr, but can we just at least say, dayum, that a lot)
It all depends how wealthy family is. If they have money 10k it’s not that much. I accepted 1,5k from my husband as we were so broke 😂 but I don’t think I would ask him more even now.

Loved this. So glad your family decided on £10'000 haq mahr. At first I was shocked when I heard that but the truth is if you think it through properly this is a fair amount to request. A lot of girl only ask for a couple of hundred and I guess this is fine especially if this is what happens in their individual families. The truth is a few hundred pounds won't do much for any girl. I'm not here to offend anyone. Annam can we have a sit down chat with your mum about haq mahr.
