I like to compare birds and humans 😂 because that's when I realize the seriousness of it all. For example, imagine someone chasing you around the house, touching your legs, making you eat what you don't want, letting you eat the same food every day, not letting you go outside, forcing you to bathe if you don't have the will to do it, etc.
@@GodLovesUs.LoveOurGod Don't do it. Before realising them from cage you should make sure that they are tamed or at least are not scared to eat treats from your hand. I helped my Herbiebirb with his trust issues by helping him be touched and held. He eventually loved it, but it took a long time. I always made sure I picked him up securely and not right, always moving him to where he wanted to go. It was important for a few reasons. I wanted him to trust all of me, not just my face. Picking up was MUCH later. It helped keep him warm in my freakishly cold house, as I could cup my hand over him and he would go to sleep. And it was important when detanglijg him from my hair, as he loved to be in my head. Most importantly though, I did it because I needed him to trust me when he had seizures, which he did. They were conscious seizures, so he could be in my cupped hands to help stop him from falling to the floor or flipping over when he couldn’t control his body. He would crawl into my hands during his recovery phase if he hadn’t been in my hands during the seizure. It also helped with beak trimming and nail trimming. He had a kinda messed up beak from being hand fed. It let me help keep it in shape with some toenail clippers as there was mainly one little piece that poked out. Kept vet visits down to every 3-4 weeks instead of every 2. Herbie was special though. He was special needs. I don’t pick up any other bird like I did with him. Love birds are amazing little critters. I miss him. He used to lick the tears off of my face when I cried.

We rescued our cockatiel 8 years ago who literally fell out of the sky on a hot Las Vegas summer day. He hates being touched so we never do but we play child tunes every morning for it and he has 3 chipmunks next to it. A few days ago we noticed his beak was getting long so we sought info on youtube. The only time I ever took my budgie for a car long car ride was because we were so we obviously had to bring him with us but that’s one of the only times we’ve ever had to bring him in our car. He also chases my dog around the house which is adorable but I’m afraid he’s going to get hurt so when I notice he’s doing that I stop him immediately 😂
Motion sickness: I first noticed that in my pionus, however that was cured by simply moving his travel cage up high enough so he could watch the outdoor environment going by. So during travel, if your bird is getting carsick, perhaps make sure his cage is high enough so that he's seeing the scenery 'moving' so that there's no discrepancy in what he sees, and what his inner ears are telling him that he's moving. THat's one of the things that most commonly is the cause of motion sickness. Same as with people!
My Green cheek conures get motion sickness. Looking out the window, for them, makes it 100x's worse. I have to cover their cage completely and secure it the best I can in a way that it will not move around in the car. I actually use a seat belt around the cage plus put things around the outsides of the cage to secure it in place. Doing so helps a lot. They still sometimes get a little bit sick, but not as bad as they used to. Apparently carsickness is a common problem with some birds - like green cheek conures. Maybe it's prevalent in Pionus as well.
So, on my 19th birthday my mum got me a budgie, just one. After a year of having her, a friend the family had to give her pet budgie away. We decided it would be better that she live with us than going back to a pet shop or going to someone who had no other budgies as she was used to living in a pair. Unfortunately, now a year or so later, they are constantly fighting and Snowy, the first budgie we had at the time is bullying the smaller one Eve. She takes most of the food even when she isn't hungry (has led to her being slightly overweight) and now we are thinking of keeping them in seperate cages and only allowing them together when it's time for out of cage play. I'm not sure if this is the right idea though since budgies hate being isolated or kept from being with each other. I can't get an appointment with my vet (trying to change them as they suck) and I have asked this question here, on forums and more. If you could help that would be great thank you.
I used to drive with my birds out of state all the time to visit family. I modified my travel cage so the pan doesn't rattle using some foam pads in the rails. That's something that's helped take down the stress a bit. Also play some music and run the ac. Mine seem used to it enough to tolerate it now.

3:15 ik.. but it's really an emergency..I can't leave them at home alone... they will die as their food, water and cage won't be changed..so that's why I need to take them with me
My Budgie loves car rides. Four hour drives are common for him. We do keep him engaged most of the trip. He does hate to ride in the car at night though.
The only time my budgie liked being held was when we were in the bathroom. Whenever I had to go in there he'd hang out on the giant mirror, and after washing/drying my hands I'd wrap my hand around him and he'd get so excited lol. Pushing his beak into my thumb and banging on the mirror. I guess that's not "being held" since I never picked him up, but he liked having my entire hand wrapped around him. Maybe cause the other budgie in the mirror was having the same thing done to him?
What about vulnerable budgies... you need to separate them so they don't get attacked by the others. How do you handle that? to make it easier on the one being separated? Great video btw. Subbed :)
I never had fights in my aviary 😬 But to stop them from that, find what is causing them to fight. Is it mirror, small number of perches, toys, feeders, are they hormonal, and so on...
Places you can’t touch your bird: Wings, back, belly, bum, tail. You can touch their feet to hold on to them when they step-up. I do that with my scarlet macaw to help her balance on my hand. It is always important to do that with large macaws. I will also hold my crimson bellied conure’s and yellow sided green cheek conure’s feet sometimes while perching on my finger to tell them they cannot fly. But of course, the bird must be trained to let you hold their feet first. You should not touch your bird anywhere but their head, neck, and feet. Touching a parrot’s feet is actually ok and does not cause hormonal behaviour.

Really beautiful birds! I don't have a pet bird but love watching these videos. They are so beautiful ❤
Please tell me the difference between hand feeding formula for budgies nutribird A19 and nutribird A21.
Aw man, I'm gonna have to do the 5th thing to my birds soon since we are moving, is there any way I can calm them down if they get stressed during a car ride?
Thanks for this video
i just got my budgie, sushi a few weeks ago and he only allows me to pet him at night when hes getting ready to sleep, but any other time hes terrified of my hand and runs away every time i try to ask him to sit on my finger :c
Very Good.Always learn somthing.Thsnks
I saw you had Fed clover flowers to your birds. Never thought to do that. My chickens love them my birds might like them too! Thanks for the idea! Just be sure no fertilizers or pest controlled have been sprayed anywhere near
To dzermina, thank you for helping me with my budgies they've improved so much ever since I first came across your channel. You've extended their lifespan with your amazing skills and knowledge, you're experience with birds is outstanding! Have a wonderful. Day
3:15 ik.. but it's really an emergency..I can't leave them at home alone... they will die as their food, water and cage won't be changed..so that's why I need to take them with me
My Budgie loves car rides. Four hour drives are common for him. We do keep him engaged most of the trip. He does hate to ride in the car at night though.
THANK YOU FOR THE NEW VIDEO I AM GOING TO HAVE A CUTE BUDGIE SOON
How cute are ur birdies
I miss my budgies so much
The only time my budgie liked being held was when we were in the bathroom.
I hope people will stop doing these things, and will be responsible to birds they own❤️😭
Same
Thank you for this video👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻💐
What about vulnerable budgies... you need to separate them so they don't get attacked by the others. How do you handle that? to make it easier on the one being separated? Great video btw. Subbed :)
I never had fights in my aviary 😬 But to stop them from that, find what is causing them to fight. Is it mirror, small number of perches, toys, feeders, are they hormonal, and so on...
So helpful thanks 😊
Denny the budgie please answer my question what additional supplements can we use for budgie or it is not required

The video was very helpful👍👍😀😀😎😎. But can you say the exact size of the cage for a budgie?😀😀.
The bigger the better, it should be over 50cm x 40cm x 40 cm
Thanks for the información IT Will help a lot of birds and people
Ur birds are soo cute
Places you can’t touch your bird:
Wings, back, belly, bum, tail.
I take my bird for car rides with no cage. It has helped decrease anxiety when she has to go to the vet.
I hold my conure ALL the time in my hands. Peaches loves it!
My conure loves it too. She'll force her head into my closed hand and crawl up into it like a cozy hole
Wow so beautiful birds!
The words in your banner in true😭 . You know I had a bird named Jack 💔 at first I hate it and it's colour but at last it was my best friend ❤️❤️RIP Jack 💔😭and it is a bird without one leg😭
Now I feel like a stubit
My little tiel loves car rides. On longer ones, she even tries to catch a tiny nap on my shoulder!! She's so flipping cute.
