i think this is the one, my dad and i couldnt fly the plane 🤣🤣 i just gave up and played pokemon crater, mini putt on miniclip the pinball on windows XP, dial up was hell, kids of today will never know the struggles lmao
anyone get a demo disk of this game in a cereal box when you were a kid and it randomly popped into your head tears later so you looked it up? i just remember throwing electric energy balls and flying like a glyder.
Accidentally bought this game as a kid. Assumed it was the same as the PS1 game. Feels like a fever dream, they made a Disney Animation Classic into a First Person Shooter
This game... This game. I have spent YEARS looking for it being able to describe so very very little of the game since I was very young when I played it. This game didn't mean much to me but It drove me insane for the past 5 or so years, glad the search is over.
It’s hilarious that for most of my life I could remember the beginning part of this game and thought it was about as deep and had as much content as Skyrim… but could not remember the name of the game or the cereal box it came in.
Watching this made me feel like a little boy again. The one who got the game for Christmas OVER 20 YEARS AGO & got the demo from a cereal box.The nostalgia is so strong I could cry 😭
@@GameGamer i did finish it, anyway your walkthrough is very good 👍 this game by its look reminds of the old times 😁 But I never understood why Rourke betrayed the protagonist...
@@nitrosodium Nice, and thank you so much!! Oh yeah me too, it takes me back to countless days after school, those were the days haha Well I guess the money went to his head, just like in the movie. It felt like they planned it before the trip!

Rourke: To move around use your mouse and arrow keys on your keyboard at the same time. Use your mouse to look up, down and around. And use your arrow keys to move forward, backwards or side ways. It takes a better practice, but you'll get use to it.
Got the demo version of this when I went to Disney World as a kid. It only had a few beta rooms in it, but had an online option to play with others. I played on and off for a few weeks and no one was ever on. I finally met someone on there and we just looked at each other before I killed them. Good times.
I never played this game, but I tender l remember the commercials for it. It looked fun. Watching it now, it looks just like a Disneyer version of half life
I'm well-aware that it'd never happen, but since it's wishful thinking? imo it would've been awesome if this game along with Disney's Dinosaur and Treasure Planet got Nintendo Switch releases someday :)
I know Disney would (Possibly) never go for this idea but maybe this game should be ported into a new game engine to preserve the gameplay and graphics, and then publish it on Steam with multiplayer!
Same, if this game also got a Nintendo Switch release? I'd also would've been happy since Atlantis has always been one of my favorite Disney movies ever since I remember first watching Atlantis on Toon Disney but never got a chance to watch the full movie except for Soap2day :)
Recently reinstalled this game! What are your graphics options set for this playthrough? I ran into some glitches, the main one being everytime I go underwater the screen goes black (although the hud is still there)...
Hi! The only options I changed was the resolution, from 800x600 to 1920x1080. Strange about your glitches, have you tried playing the game through a virtual Windows software, like VirtualBox?
@@GameGamer u have done that? I tried virtualbox and VMware but the game always get glitche at the begining of the trial by fire part inside the Ulisses...
I recently rebought an ebay copy of Atlantis: Search for the Journal in hopes of playing it but I can't get the game to run! I installed everything from the disk and the game window starts with a "Play" button, but when I click it, it goes black and then closes and nothing happens. Any advice on how to get the game to run?
Hmm, maybe you should try installing an older version of Windows on a virtual machine, most older games can be played that way! I recommend VirtualBox :)
@ I got it working! I went with PCem and wow it’s amazing! It’s actually really fun feeling like I own a windows 95 and 98 computer again anyway! 🤩🥳 Definitely going to play soon!
Children animation adapted into Quake-lite. Who the hell came up with that? I had a full game. I never liked it and was fairly disappointed with it. I never understood why we kept getting vastly different PC versions of several games compared to superior console ones. When I was younger I wanted to play a 3rd person platformer Atlantis.

Absolutely the same, this was on my grandmas computer when I was 6. I can’t believe I found it

I thought the faces on the ice tokens were scary, the ones in the first 5 minutes 😂😂😂
Wait a minute.. I didn't know there was a longer version of this game! I only played the CD I got in the cereal box
Shhit... thought i was the only one!
Search for the journal came in a cereal box. Trial by fire had search for the journal but you had to buy the disc.

I swore this game looked incredible graphically when I was a kid....the things nostalgia does hahaha.
Oh yeah it sure did, but that was almost 20 years ago haha

The art design and texture work aren't terrible.
I actually rememeber playing this and thought the graphics sucked lol idk why maybe cause I was used to the n64
It's because you played it on a CRT monitor. CRTs display graphics differently than the modern digital monitor.
its been almost 20 years and here I am. Path of the fucking beam. I could never get past the first 3 minutes.

This game really takes me back. I loved the movie and I loved the game.
This game was eerie as fuck for a young gamer. Can quite explain why though
the sounds scared me as a kid lol
This is legit the first video game I remember seeing ever. I was 4.
