Mujhe bacchpan se mysore pak pasand hai..chota tha us time iska naam b nahi pata tha main isko burfi bolta tha..humare yaha General store rehta tha us mein mysore pak Milta tha Main bahut khaata tha accha tasty lagta tha..tab mujhe 1 ya 2 rupay milte theh bacchpan mein..maine dhyan diya ki is burfi ko koi khaata nahi..mujhe hairaani hui itni tasty hai fir kya kaaran hai...koi leta nahi..fir baad mein kuch saal baad pata chala General store wala mysore pak Kaafi din se rkha rehta aur hard ban jaata isliye waha se koi nhi leta..sirf main khaata tha..Asli mysore pak soft hota hai..Isliye koi waha se nhi le rha tha..😮mysore pak bakery se hi lena chahye.

I'm from Bangalore and my fvrt sweet is offcourse Mysore pak
Genuine MP is pale gold in color with the centre a brick red color. It is hard and crunchy.
Nowadays, many shops sell nakli MP looking like soft golden paste, full of excess ghee ( I compare it to output of 1 month old infant!)
Also people of SE state have tried to take over MP by calling it false names like Mysupa! In fact, my daughter had to listen to person from SE state saying you Kannadigas have "stolen" Mysupa from us!
In Bangalore, buy Asha Sweets MP. It is made the trad way, pale yellow, with brick red in center. Hard and crunchy taste
You are absolutely right. Authentic Mysorepak has to be crunchy on the outside and soft inside. And people use too much ghee. The rich, darker color in the center should come from caramelization of the sugar and not by adding color!
