It's a secret element. The sixth element. The most important element. Because without the OFF ost, everybody could no longer bear studying. They'd go mad.
This is gonna sound weird, but this song has a "last person on Earth" feel to it. Like, I just picture someone sitting alone in an old house, and there's a really thick fog outside. This song seriously scares me.
I love this vision combined with this song. Just the feeling of sheer isolation, it fits so perfectly with the hollow howling of the music. Staring out a window, just gazing until the dense rain impairs their vision to the point of obscuring all sight.
i have that vibe too, the last person on earth, but instead of a house i see them in a crumbing neighborhood, on an old, dusty porch, sitting on a rusty metal bench, their head down, and everything except for the person is in color, while they are black and white.
This sounds exactly like getting up in the morning to go to work on very little sleep, so much so that when it happens to me I find this song playing in my head throughout the day. Alias Conrad coldwood is a genius when it comes to atmospheric music
If it didn't have the rain sound in it (which I like) then it would sound very near identical to the music that plays inside the Great Deku Tree in Ocarina of Time. Either way, it's still a pretty relaxing song. This and "Desperately Safe" are my two favorites on this soundtrack.
I love this games ost. I wonder how a modern 3d platformer would be with this kind of background music. Or more modern games aiming for true unique and original music. I wish there was another game with a similar soundtrack as Rayman 1. That soundtrack is amazing or The Dig with it's orchestra of wonder
I realized today why I love rainy overcast days so much. It reminds me of Alma. It's the surreal feeling of sitting in an empty parking lot when it's early in the morning and nobody is out yet. The sun just came up and I'm sitting on a wet bench outside and can't figure out why these days feel so different.
Took me a while to realize that Zone 1 is basically China, since it's basically just one giant factory that produces everything for all the other zones

This is also great meditation ambience

I can imagine that. I see where your point of view is coming from.

Rainy days must really suck in Zone 1 when it's purified.
It stops raining in zone 1 once it's purified. There is nothing left but steady entropy and silence.
I mean, there's still sugar in zone 3. Even after purification.
@@Resi1ience Its in HOME a spinoff of OFF but not in the real game.
@@maxicheese4609 They're talking about the piles of sugar that can be found in zone 3. The piles are still there after the zone is purified

Well, not platformer, but this game's OST gives heavy Silent Hill vibes. Maybe you should try it.

play *rainymood* over this song for *no effect at all* because the song already has rain sounds

Listen to this theme, and the indoor version, at the same time, it makes it so much better!!!!
There's nothing quite like the sound of rain.
I can finally sleep...

There's a sound there that vaguely resembles Global. Or is it just me?
Maybe slowed down, yeah. Now that you mention it.
This almost seems like it could be in the American McGee's Alice soundtrack if it was a little more dissonant.
Sounds like Alias just went ahead and sampled some sounds from Harry Potter
hey look! it's raining meat!
