Can I just say, I love you guys. To me, you are the heirs apparent to Siskel and Ebert, and major Chicago papers should be paying you for your reviews/commentaries
1. It seemed like yesterday when Craig said he was having a baby. Lorenzo is huge. 2. The guy doing the countdown sounds just like the "cancer infested rats" guy from Hard Ticket to Hawaii.
Two things: 1. Lorenzo is adorable and proves my inability to tell the passage of time, because I swear to god you announced his birth at like the beginning of this year. 2. Craig’s gray hair is freaking me out. I don’t know if it’s the lighting or what, but I still remember seeing him in Chad Vader so this is real “Oh god we’re all victims of the passage of time oh god oh man oh god oh man” for me.
Its Lorenzoooooo! Hes sooooooo cute! It warms my heart that Craig showed him Totoro at such a young age. Hes gonna see so many good movies with you guys to influence him. Eep!
@@craigjohnson6423 have you 2 seen "le petite prince"? (Or 'the little prince') together yet? Its a really sweet animated french movie (english dubbed as well) He might still be a little young for it, but its in the same vein quality wise. The vein that challenges kids a bit more, instead of just showing them pretty moving colours and shutting them up for an hour. :) its a really good movie!
Oh my God. I've seen this. I've had dreams about that scene where the one guy drifts away from the ship since childhood! Ive been wondering which movie it is and wouldnt have found the movie again without you. Thank you so much!
I should be defending this as a finn, but the movie is just horrible. Especially if you know where the filmmakers came from. All of the jokes fall flat and story only kinda makes sense. VFX-work is fucking amazing, but that doesn't save the film.
Awww we finally see Lorenzo. Another great episode, always takes me away from the blackness of reality. Epic stuff, xxx to you guys. Also Matt at 8:45 made me cry 😂😂😂😂😂.
Was Craig ever that adorable? 7:43 Wearing a watch on the inside of the wrist is waaay better. Less turning of the wrist (if you have problems like Carpal Tunnel); less chance of damaging the face; easier to see if you're holding something. Just because it's not regular doesn't mean it's goofy!
You asked rhetorically what other movies George Pal did. In the 1930s and 1940s, he mostly directed animated shorts using puppets with interchangeable wooden heads. In 1960, he wrote and directed The Time Machine, but his biggest success as a producer was a lil old movie called War of the Worlds.
maybe it's just the alcohol but I think this is possibly your funniest episode. you guys just pumped out riff after riff, like finely tuned comedy machines. or just naturally funny guys. either way I was laughing constantly.
People who where their watches on the inside of the wrist are generally pilots. It's so they can see the time without taking their hands off the controls.
You guys are kinda like an alternate universe RedLetterMedia. Matt from here reminds me a lot of Mike from over there, and they're even both operating out of Wisconsin.
I know you've mentioned it in passing discussing other Altman films, but could we get a Seen It on Nashville? I just watched it and found it to both be a nice (slightly fictionalized) time capsule of my home town, but also an "epic" that feels very personal and un-"epic".
@BlameSociety SCENE IT! : Not a movie, but you guys seen the recent HBO mini-series ‘Chernobyl’? Such a truly impactful piece of cinematic television, the best series I have seen in years (I have the feeling many awards will follow).
No offense but maybe Lorenzo should replace Craig? That boy's got talent! --Aaron
Lorenzo is honestly so adorable! Thank you for the guest appearance, little man!
Can I just say, I love you guys. To me, you are the heirs apparent to Siskel and Ebert, and major Chicago papers should be paying you for your reviews/commentaries
I knoooooo, totes agree
yes, exactly what I thought when I first saw WttB.
What are these "papers" you speak of?
Goodness me...time flies, seems like yesterday that Craig came back to the show after Lorenzo's birth...adorable!
Holy cow Lorenzo has gotten big!
he's so cute
Matt is such an Uncle Matt.
After Lorenzo’s cameo my heart exploded, thanks guys
Best cold open of the season!
Lorenzo is gonna grow up to be one smart fella!
1. It seemed like yesterday when Craig said he was having a baby. Lorenzo is huge.
2. The guy doing the countdown sounds just like the "cancer infested rats" guy from Hard Ticket to Hawaii.
Best cold open in the history of the show!

It's been 2 1/2 years...and Jimmy really should have had a little gray hair considering all the he's seen.
Lorenzo already has Craigs crooked smile, he's so adorable!!
Very cute opening.... “Is he ok getting home by himself?” 🤣
Craig made a Boosh reference!! Well done, Mr Johnson.
Its Lorenzoooooo! Hes sooooooo cute! It warms my heart that Craig showed him Totoro at such a young age. Hes gonna see so many good movies with you guys to influence him. Eep!
I put "My Neighbor Totoro" on his gift registry with the plan to show it to him on his 2nd birthday. He loves it.

@@kikikyami We have not. Thanks for the tip. Always looking for movies to broaden his horizons. Thanks.
@@craigjohnson6423 anytime man! :)
Can we get a Seen It with Lorenzo?
How cute is that kid!
If you wear headphones, Matt's voice has a very pleasant bass rumble
You think he should do ASMR?
@@GreatWightSpark Or a podcast at the very least.
They do have a podcast.
I got so excited with this Cold open with Lorenzo that I paused, like this video and had to comment! Now back to this awesome show!
Good lord that kid is a chip off the old block. That coy smirk.. my heart!
That sweet little baby voice made my heart and my uterus skip a beat
Thumbs up for the adorable Lorenzo!
Omg Lorenzo is so cute. Like, cuter than a lot of kids lol.
Best Horatio Alger joke on RUclips today!
One of the finest episodes and clearly not one that the algorithm favours
thumb kiss me all of you who’s been here since day 1, BNBG and WTTB has been a part of my life, thank you guys!👍🏻
This is one of the best episodes of this show.
lorenzo!! i hope he grows up to love film just as much as his pop!
Oh my God. I've seen this. I've had dreams about that scene where the one guy drifts away from the ship since childhood! Ive been wondering which movie it is and wouldnt have found the movie again without you. Thank you so much!
that cut to lorenzo was so perfect what a cute lil dude
Wttb, thank you for this. George Pal is one of my favorite film makers.
Awww, all the MST3K’s behind the couch warm my heart.
I suggested this before and I will suggest it again, but you guys should watch Iron Sky. It's got Udo Kier and the moon
i agree

@@_Opass Which is why it's perfect for Welcome to the Basement.
That has to be the best cold open you've ever done, right?
Assuming the shot was intentionally a bit wider just so we could see the kitty. If so, thank you!
Shea Whigham is the best character actor out there today.
Awww we finally see Lorenzo. Another great episode, always takes me away from the blackness of reality. Epic stuff, xxx to you guys. Also Matt at 8:45 made me cry 😂😂😂😂😂.
I would love to see more movies with BLANK
Blankman
Was Craig ever that adorable?

Just because it's not regular doesn't mean it's goofy!
What I really liked about "First Man" was how well they depicted the claustrophobia of those first manned space missions.
OMG it's lil Craig!!!! 🖤🖤🖤
Robert Heinlein. George Pal. Chesley Bonestell. A whole lot of Golden Age sci-fi.
I finally get one of your album in the background references! Yay TMBG Destination Moon!
matt’s “this is the oith” and “it sure is s-“ were hilarious omg i’m losing it
I like this new cohost. It was definitely time for a replacement.
Good call, Matt.
; )
Best Cold Open ever
What a fantastic episode, thank you so much guys!
“It’s totoro” 😭😭😭😭😭
This was an amazing video! Loved the "anti-gravity" effects ;) Very hilarious and the Lorenzo opening was adorable.
One of the rare times where you get a cartoon in the middle of the movie.
Thanks for uploading this!
This and red letter media is what youtube is about! ❤️
24:02 “For more movies with BLANK” lol
That kid's a star!

LORENZO! Adorbs.
What a blast!
He smirks like craig!
15:52 Also sort of happens in Gravity. Its what I immediately thought of. But Bullock saves herself with a fire extinguisher not someone else.
Craig, you are not alone in the desire to be Arthur Dent.
you got to start them early when you want them to take over Welcome T The Basement
The ship used on the post of this movie is just like the ship used in the 1962 animated series, "Space Angel"!
Man, Baby Cookie's really growing up!
Matt is rocking the Cody cut.
Lorenzo is such a little sweetheart.
omg... so cute..
Lorenzo is awesome and adorable!!
Quote of the episode: "ballyhooed to stout grosses"
I love movies with BLANK!
One of the first Science Fiction books I read was Stranger in a Strange Land by Heinlein. Grok it!
maybe it's just the alcohol but I think this is possibly your funniest episode. you guys just pumped out riff after riff, like finely tuned comedy machines. or just naturally funny guys. either way I was laughing constantly.

Does September have a theme yet? If not, you fellas should do Sequel September!
People who where their watches on the inside of the wrist are generally pilots. It's so they can see the time without taking their hands off the controls.
I agree, Matt. People who wear their watches backwards are strange.
AAAAAA Lorenzo is so adorable
Petition to replace Craig with Lorenzo permanently 😉 lol
Cons: I don't get to do the show anymore.
Pros: I get a few free hours every couple of weeks while Lorenzo is at the shoot.
@@craigjohnson6423 Your little guy is so cute! Am enjoying your videos!
best intro
Seen it? Swimming to Cambodia or any of Spalding Gray's other films. Would love to hear opinions of this great storyteller's work from two thespians
Craig has some competition for co-host.
Love you guys. Love the space movie reviews of this one. Have you guys seen the documentary "Behind the Curve"?
Please, please, please have a Lorenzo segment for every unboxing video. He's so cute!
You can see Craigs eyes in Lorenzo's face.
You guys are kinda like an alternate universe RedLetterMedia. Matt from here reminds me a lot of Mike from over there, and they're even both operating out of Wisconsin.
5:55 yeah they didn't think that through, did they? 🚀
Craig with that sick Mighty Boosh reference
Pretty much every time I see a full moon I say "I am de moon!" It's probably the same for Craig too.
Lorenzo is adorable

Yes thank you. As one of my favourite films, I'd love to hear their thoughts on it.
For part 2 of Scifi July you guys gotta watch Annihilation (2018)! Although it's possibly better to save for Halloween
Heads up, the end slate still says "for more movies with BLANK, click here".
I know...I know...it was bound to happen eventually.
Toetowoe!
Lorenzo is so cute!!!
There's an OG Interstellar
Fiyah!
In celebration of Scifi July, have you seen Serenity? It's the film continuation of the Joss Whedon series Firefly.
I also notice some similar scenes in the Belgian comics of Tintin.
Apollo 18 in the backround!
