Another great video! Your tips, tricks, and advice on gear, camp etiquette, and showing group interactions make for an enjoyable experience for those of us watching from the sidelines. I look forward to all your videos!
Haha yes!! Definitely not something that I will continue to do, but I needed a quick solution before the trip so I grabbed this from Canadian Tire. Made for great nights sleep, but the packing up part obviously was prolonged. Trade offs,…in this case was worth it, but like I said not a long term solution. Will buy a different pad.
Great videos, I just discovered your channel and have been binge watching them, Just ordered a tailgate G.A.R.B for my JT Rubicon. looks like good gear and you can never have enough storage.
Most awnings come out at rear and angle toward center leaving Jeep tailgate area somewhat exposed. I like the design of AluCab and quick pitch 20 sec 270 awnings that go straight out from rear corner. Just something to think about😉
I have been looking at the new Reign 270 degree awning. It can cover the entire tailgate section. They are a new company, will soon be upgrading their original storage bag with an oversized bag to just make it quicker, easier to put away. Side panels to add to make your awning into a tent/Mosquito free zone.
For the awning recommandation, I have the Overland Vehicle Systems Nomadic Awning 270. I love it, quick and easy installation. Beautiful scenery, really enjoyed the videos.
I bought it used this summer, the guy had it for 1 year, and it's still in very good condition, looks like new. so I can't give the best review, because I haven't had it long enough. However, my friend has the same one, it's his second season with it and no problems so far. having been camping with my friend and having had the opportunity to use it, this is the reason I looked for this particular model. quality/price side, for my part, I find that it is the best. He used it in severe conditions and spent many days with it. Hope this helps.
I just bought a new clamshell camper. It came stock with a 2" sleeping pad. Rock hard. Might as well have been a slab of concrete. Have a six day trip coming up in a week. Ordered a 4" Hest sleeping pad as a replacement. Just hoping it gets here in time and then time and use will tell. Apparently the camper will close with the new pad. Minus sleeping bags.
Yeah my 2” pad is also much too hard in this tent. This massive pad was a Canadian Tire purchase so it’s far from ideal but at least I had it before the trip. Made such a difference. Wasn’t gonna spend 9 nights being uncomfortable. I’m going to take a king size foam topper and cut it to fit the tent exactly. Don’t think I can close it with that though either. But at least I can’t leave my bulky sleeping bag in it. It compresses enough.
OVS awning for the win. Either 270 or 180, whichever best suits your needs. You saw how quick my 270 was to deploy for that rainy lunch break on the river.
What a pain rolling foam or even an air mattress. This season I'm going to give a tri-fold foam mattress a try. Might be a little bigger but should be easier.
Have you looked into an inflatable pad that you can release the air and store flat in tent? May work out better and should be easier than the foam roll.
Do you by any chance have coordinates of the mountain top or any names of the places or trails you have taken? I would like to do these kinds of trips with my son, but the time needed to plan these trips and hope the road goes somewhere cool is beyond my time scope. Currently I have been finding a few minutes here and there to plan a trip on the swisha loop but that is slow going.
A couple of ways you can obtain this: I do share all my work I’ve done with my Patreon subscribers - Fury Trax, find all my gpx files there, or for these trails contact Julien Boucher on instagram, he also just started an account as JB Expeditions. Since our videos have come out he has become a busy local trail guide lol.
Yes I looked at the 23Zero on Ed’s trailer. Very very nice and also it’s olive green 🤩 my favourite! Definitely a top 3 contender! Thanks for the recommendation!
Amazing mountain footage. Great job to both of you.
Thank you very much, Steph did an amazing job the whole trip but especially on this one, running up the mountain!! 🙌🏼💪🏼

Thank you so much really appreciate it
Wow the drone footage was 👌🏼
Well done all, enjoyed
Watching you roll up that piece of Memory foam. And then you still have to store it.

Covering the tailgate at an angle.
@@scottymac5174 I just looked at it I like how it comes straight off the back for better coverage!

Thank you! I have been looking at that one! Any issues at all? How long have you had it?
@@NorthBoundExpeditionsthat is the one we have as well 😊

Yeah that’s what I need, a quick setup and takedown.
It only make sense to make it a set Skyetents free standing 270 awning wall combo.

Agreed! Huge pain. But the comfort and good nights sleep makes it worth while as long as storage is available

Yes that’s not a bad idea.

A lot of the better designed awnings I have looked at are made in Australia. 23Zero is one.
