How to make a paracord bottle wrap- the chain sinnet
HTML-код

- In this tutorial I demonstrate how to make a paracord water bottle wrap using the chain sinnet method.
I first seen this style made by David Hopper and I modified it a bit.
This style of water bottle holder has a number of distinct advantages:
- it can be made directly from a hank of paracord- no measuring required
- it is quick deployment ready, meaning that it can be unraveled extremely quickly
- it holds a large amount of paracord.
It also has an eye pleasing look!
I used a cord lock to secure the cord around the neck of the bottle.
It is not required, I just find it functional.
A photo tutorial on this paracord water bottle wrap can be found here:

Wow...thanks...this is perfect for something I need. I’m going to use smaller rope. I’ve looked at many of your videos, I appreciate your craft/skill! You are talented...I like how your mind works!
Beautiful work!
This knotting technique is also known as ''crochet.'' A crochet hook sized to match the paracord, and working off the bottle after first sizing the draw-cord, allows this project tot be made in about 30 minutes or less for a crocheter. :)

Great comment!
Thank you, I do have to try my hand at it someday!

I was thinking the same thing.
That's is Awesome! I am an Arts & Crafts Entrepreneur and I love new creative ideas. Thank you for this one.
Wow I think I just found a new useful hobby. I really like the way this looks. You explain things just at the right pace. Thank you, subscribed.
Hey!
Thank you for a kind comment! :)

I really like this one better than the first bottle holder I saw a few days ago. It covers more of the bottle and it seems a little bit easier.
Muchas gracias 👏👏🙏
Thank you! I've been looking for such and similar techniques for a long time. Beautiful work.
Very easy to do and looking beautiful.thank you very much for sharing.
This is great. I use it for a survial tin and works great, thanks!
As always some of the most awesomeness videos ever seen on knotting you keep me inspired to never give up on knot Art
Thanks and I have done one in 4 hours. Long time indeed.
Could you suggest some options that we may add a paracord handle for easy carrying during hiking please ?
It looks awesome!! Thank you for sharing this. Cheers!!!

wow now i know how to crochet without a crocket hook cool
a great idea for Mariners.
to leave this outside to become flotsam in the event of capsize/ sinking.
once untied you will have the length of paracord...plus the inner strands X3 to secure extra flotsam to make a buoyant fortitude for waiting until rescue arrives.
great stuff.
thank you
Great project! Thanks
Excelente!!!

Казахстан с Вами!!!Спасибо что вы есть!!! Видео класс! жду новое видео!
I like it so much. I'm excited to do it wd my aqua flask.
Would it be possible to make this as a collar to hold a drinking horn? I have a horn and would love to make a holder for it.
Was the tool you used to loosen the loops a 1/4" wobble socket extension?
so beautiful clever

What does the cinch cord do if the bottle is the same shape top to bottom?? It just slides in and out
Hi, how many meters of paracord will I use if I made one for Tyeso Tumbler 890ml? Thanks for answering
Where did you get that tan paracord. Great work!
Thank you for this tutorial! Is there a way for it to start from the bottom to the top?
Hey there!
Indeed you can start at the bottom as well. You start lining up half hitches in a circle, then transition into the chain sinnet/crochet pattern.
Mark
Hello ! Just wanted to ask you if the wrapping makes the bottle stable ? i've seen in another tutorial that you used a ring on the bottom of the bottle. I suppose it's done to make the thing more stable, isn't it ? Anyway, is it possible to put a ring in this wrapping ? Thank you ! Good job.
One continuous hank, but how much did you use?
Excellent!
Have you thought about using forceps, it makes it much easier on the fingers?
+David Hastings
That seems like a good idea!
I must admit I use few tools, mostly what I have at hand. It is worth a try!
Mark
hey I was hoping to make a much larger version of this without having to use a ton of cord. I need to make a bag for my bear cannister. any ideas. thanks.
Hey!
Cool idea! I would space the hitches apart quite a bit to save cord in that case. You can also use other hitching styles (I have featured a few on the channel).
I hope it helps.
Mark
I just finished one, Took me like 4 hours 😂. Don't know if I'll ever do it again due to the time involved lol.
Congratulations!
It goes faster after you do a few, but still, it is hard on the hands. But all in all, it is well worth it. One of the best looking wraps I ever did.
Mark
How much cord did the wrap use on that bottle
How much paracord am i looking at needing for a 16oz bottle
Hi,please how many feet are necessary ?
Hi, I thought your video was really cool! But I was wondering if you can start with a hydro flask handle on the bottle- please get back to me as soon as possible. Thank you so much!
how many feet of chord is that?
looks awesome mate, just wondering if i wrap it around abit of pvc pipe will it work for a arrow quiver?
+sleepyDUDE01
It could. Make sure you finish the bottom quite tightly to prevent arrows from slipping out.
Mark
+Paracord guild thanks :D i got some paracord ordered once i get it i'll give it a try if for what ever reason they slip though i could put something like foam down the bottom to prevent that
thanks again mark
+sleepyDUDE01
That is a good idea! I'd use a piece of leather.
That is going to be one great looking quiver!
Mark
hey use a crochet hook instead it will make the project must faster
How many meters paracord do we need for example such a bottle or even a 1 liter bottle?
+nadja vulkan
Hey!
It is hard to make an accurate guess. Because of the way it is made, you don't have to cut a length to get started. I'd just get a 100 foot hank and work from that.
Mark
cuantos metros se utilizan =?
Süper süper süper 👏👏👏👏👏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I was able to cover a 34 oz metal nalgene bottle with a stretched 100 ft length of 550 paracord once...
I don't want to start with a cord and run out. I have a 32oz bottle how many feet cord would be plenty to last to the end?
david hampton did you ever figure out how much cord was needed till the end? I too want to wrap a 32oz hydro flask but using 850 paracord. Guess I'll just use 100ft hank and find out lol.
This is what I have been looking for! I want to do a full bottle paracord wrap on my 64oz Hydro Flask. How many feet do you think I'll need?
Morgan Block
I always advise to make a row or two and extrapolate from that. It depends on how much you tighten and the actual flask as well. Don't be afraid to splice in more cord if you run out! I did a video on the technique here:
ruclips.net/video/QI5F7xcxu0U/видео.html
Mark
+ounikao of the 200ft, how much did you use? how long did it take?
waw
How much paracord will I need to cover a Coke can?
Сколько метров нужно?
You need to "Throw in" some "Southern Words " like...
Bubba says....
Well Durn.....
I'll be Dog on....
"Dad blame it!!!!"
"AHHHHHHH, SHUX"
"HAY Y'ALL"
"AIN'T IT HOT TODAY!"
"Y'ALL WANT SOME SWEET ICE TEA"
"FETCH ME THAT NIFE OVER YONDER"
(good Southern words)
seajay
Excellent. Love the list. I'll have to incorporate these as soon as possible!
Mark
How much did you use for a bottle that size? And what size was the bottle
$3.50 Voss water bottle at any store. Under a liter I believe.
@docholiday5119 sorry I was asking about the cordage length not the price on the bottle
何メートル必要なんでしょうか?、、、英語わからなくてすみません
anyone doing this in quarantaine?
Little update and tip: you actually need a LOT of rope to do this. I used 15 meters of 3mm rope and I didn't even reach halfway my regular sized bottle. (about 10-12 cm in height). For a full high bottle you'll need about 25-30 meters. Crazy! Anyways I have half a bottle wrap now lol.
Indeed, wraps often take quite a bit of cord to make! Half a bottle is now almost bulletproof :).
All the incorrect letters and signs in my comments were done by the phone.
Nicely done.
Easy to follow.
Good camera work.
NOW,,, IF YOU JUST SPOKE "AMERICAN ENGLISH" YOU WOULD BE PERFECT.
(I'm teasing of course my friend)
Seajay sailor man
Yeah, this needs a lot of nuance and finite knowledge of how to weave and experience doing such to really be informative.
For us beginners, this is like calculus to someone who just learned how to add.
Needs a LOT more explanation of the length of loops and why and how to orientation of the loops should be and it's just lacking in this video to be of any real help.
