In a river the color of lead Immerse the baby's head Wrap her up in the news of the world Dump her on a doorstep, girl This night has opened my eyes And I will never sleep again You kicked and cried like a bullied child A grown man of twenty five Oh, he said he'd cure your ills But he didn't and he never will Oh, save your life Because you've only got one The dream has gone but the baby is real Oh, you did a good thing She could have been a poet or she could have been a fool Oh, you did a bad thing And I'm not happy and I'm not sad A shoeless child on a swing Reminds you of your own again She took away your troubles Oh, but then again She left pain Oh, please save your life Because you've only got one The dream has gone but the baby is real Oh, you did a good thing She could have been a poet or she could have been a fool Oh, you did a bad thing And I'm not happy and I'm not sad Oh la la la, ooh la la And I'm not happy and I'm not sad Oh la la la, ooh la la And I'm not happy and I'm not sad
Unbelievable isn’t it… what a double gig, so stupid the network didn’t record Cave. Just so happy they recorded this bootleg though. Probably the best ever.
I love the smiths but sometimes think they would have been a much cooler band without Morrissey, like a kind of mega-post-punk dream outfit with a singer like Gang of Four’s Jon King or even Lydon, cos the instrumental on this track is absolutely beautiful and Morrissey just kind of drifts through it.
@@Blackrockjazzclub No it's not, he's one of the main singers of the band.. without him the band wouldn't really be much. besides, he has an amazing voice and i have no idea why people hate him
There is something so specifically lovely about this version... probably my favorite live version I've heard
So real everything about it is perfect the way it sounds and everything is perfection
@@catlvr_sk marr is actually in tune

@Esmeralda Vall where can I find it?
hey me too!
In a river the color of lead
Immerse the baby's head
Wrap her up in the news of the world
Dump her on a doorstep, girl
This night has opened my eyes
And I will never sleep again
You kicked and cried like a bullied child
A grown man of twenty five
Oh, he said he'd cure your ills
But he didn't and he never will
Oh, save your life
Because you've only got one
The dream has gone but the baby is real
Oh, you did a good thing
She could have been a poet or she could have been a fool
Oh, you did a bad thing
And I'm not happy and I'm not sad
A shoeless child on a swing
Reminds you of your own again
She took away your troubles
Oh, but then again
She left pain
Oh, please save your life
Because you've only got one
The dream has gone but the baby is real
Oh, you did a good thing
She could have been a poet or she could have been a fool
Oh, you did a bad thing
And I'm not happy and I'm not sad
Oh la la la, ooh la la
And I'm not happy and I'm not sad
Oh la la la, ooh la la
And I'm not happy and I'm not sad

Я русская. Наверно я родилась не в том месте, не в то время. Люблю the Smithc, Talk Talk, Wolfgahg Press, Pink Floyd.
Nick Cave and the bad seeds made their live debut on this night supporting The Smiths. Fancy that.
Unbelievable isn’t it… what a double gig, so stupid the network didn’t record Cave. Just so happy they recorded this bootleg though. Probably the best ever.
@@HLTulnertriple gig to be specific. First playing was Peter Blegvad.
