Caroline's smile is everything, she is radiantly to marry the man she "always loved " and for which she always thought would be the one. Stefan is shook, in the right moment he turned his face and his eyes on her his world stop running, he stop breathing and just stares at her likein front a work of art with adorations and tears in eyes. I never seen something more beautiful, intense, natural and powerful and the scenes in slow motions, the colors, the flowors everywhere and falling from the sky, the music, the parallels with their pasts iconic moments, everything fixes them in a ICONIC, INCORRUPTIBLE frame
Caroline changed Stefan. She's the first vampire he fell in love with, and in loving her, finally understood why Damon loved Katherine. That's why Caroline was meant to wear Katherine's necklace. He's marrying everything he hated about Katherine when he found out she was a vampire.

Stefan wanted "that" Damon to live because he never did.
Anyway... that's why Stefan starts off with human Katherine and ends with vampire Caroline, while Damon starts off with vampire Katherine and ends with human Elena. Stefan had to kill Katherine. Unconditional love is the best love. Love was the only reason Damon came to hate.

michelle r omygod!! I've been looking for this beautiful comment for the past 8 weeks!! Coz all i saw was the way that stefan and caroline looked at each other! i mean, don't get me wrong, i love them coz they were so inlove with each other but the fact that the main plot of this whole show is what alaric said. that speech literally define the whole season. Coz one, losing Elena is what brought Damon & Stefan back together, two, losing Elena's parents is how Stefan and Elena found each other. The main point of the story is not about the lovebirds, it's all about family. their love and care from one another. You may choose youe own ships all you want but that doesn't change the whole point.
