STBBI Testing & Prevention Tools

We will be presenting on HIV prevention. Specifically, ways to address the 1 in 7 people living with HIV who are unaware (testing services), prevention tools for those at risk (PrEP, condoms, understanding risk related to specific sexual activity), and some info on prevention related to U=U. We will also briefly touch on some important facts on STI testing some people are not aware of (importance of swabbing, latency/retesting, and appropriate STI treatment) and address stigma involved in accessing prevention tools.
Pharmacist Drew (he/him) is a certified HIV Pharmacist and clinic owner. Two years ago, he launched Canada’s first online based PrEP prescribing service (The PrEP Clinic) to break down barriers to access in a new way. With prevention being more than just PrEP, they later expanded as the Ontario Prevention Clinic. Their services include online sexual health testing appointments across Ontario, as well as in-person clinics. They also provide treatment support for people living with HIV while educating on U=U and fighting stigma. Their other services include a free condom/naloxone shipping program and free mental wellness counselling. While they are the only queer-owned online HIV prevention service in Canada, they are an inclusive space where everyone is welcome.
