4K HDR Night Video test of the Apple iPhone 16 pro - HDR will be available once RUclips finishes processing the video My opinion - possibly better hardware and camera sensors compared to Pixel 9 Pro, but Google video boost is better for most cases. Yes video boost requires an upload to the cloud and takes long to process, but after shooting the video I literally did nothing, and the result was ready to post once video boost was done. Whereas the iPhone footage looks good, but I had to manually color grade it to make it presentable for posting. In everyday life (not RUclips posting), yes the iPhone videos are available right away, but for most people, on the Pixel you have a okay preview version if you want to share right away and after some time, a AI color graded video ready for you to enjoy. For me, most of the time I don't go back and look at my casual pictures or short videos until "some time" after I've taken them (most likely when I get home at the soonest, or more likely the next day or week). 😁 Settings - 4K HDR 60fps (normal, ProRes HDR, ProRes Log) Editing - Light color grading. ProRes Log required the most, ProRes HDR required the least (it didn't feel right comparing raw footage against Pixel 9 Pro Video Boost) Controls - All cameras with "smooth" zoom available Compare against Pixel 9 Pro Video Tests: 4K HDR 60FPS Night Video Boost - ruclips.net/video/M06mn4fp2dw/видео.html 8K Night Sight Video Boost - ruclips.net/video/yC0AyJ0tlAc/видео.html 4K HDR Night Video - ruclips.net/video/S0yxYkK5B9I/видео.html 4K 60fps HDR Video Boost - ruclips.net/video/yIlET3fpY2Q/видео.html 4K 60fps SDR - ruclips.net/video/k0fBHzny_rw/видео.html
Way better than Pixel 9. Video is smoother. It has no laggs. Video is more sharp. Video has no flicker. The autofocus works much better on iPhone. No AI upscaling artifacts. But Pixel has better low light performance. Less noise.
Watched this first on my HDR TV and my jaw dropped. Absolutely stunning looking! But watching it on my PC SDR it looks terrible. I guess this is why so few people shoot HDR - the vast majority won't be watching on a big HDR TV and it will look a bit crap. Shame there isn't some way for RUclips to process it so it also looks good in SD.
I think it was James Cameron who said something like "video shot in 60fps or higher takes the lens out of reality", which is so accurate. This video is so clear and smooth it doesn't even feel like watching something real.
Think that’s just bc of the telephoto having less contrast and wide angle but that rlly bc of the higher aperture but considering that it looks rlly good for night time
The video quality is sick on iphones. i'm so happy with my 16 pro max white titanium. Great video! I was just in Japan 3 weeks ago and stayed in a hotel in that same area where godzilla's head is. Loved Japan.
Holy moly, I just came back from visiting Tokyo, Japan for the first time and we stayed in Shinjuku where this video was recorded, so randomly bumping into this current video is kinda blowing my mind… haha. BTW…. loved Tokyo and Japan ❤️🇯🇵!
It can be tweaked with halos, darkness and balance but not bad, cleaning lenses may be needed more often? Looking forward to daytime and other takes for your posts
What I am observing is that the camera has some problems with bright stray light coming from the side into to the lens, causing some kind of white haze in the picture. This happens multiple times while you walk along bright illumination/display walls. Maybe some kind of polarization filter could help with this. (plus increase of contrast as a side-effect).
It really is impressive how good the color/definition looks on the ProRes 4k LOG footage. At first, I didn't think there was maybe that much of a difference, but after watching the normal 4k HDR and the ProRes Log, it really has a vibrancy the regular 4k HDR lacks. I'll have to get a thunderbolt cable and try shooting some footage of my own using the ProRes LOG on my iPhone 15 Pro. Not all the time, given the storage requirements, but it would be great to capture family/friend events with this level of detail and clarity. Also, great footage in general. One of these days I'd love to visit Japan.
@ the cable has to have a certain bandwidth to record to an external drive and thunderbolt cables usually fit the bill. I found a usb 3 cable that actually works well, so that is an option. Usb 2 cables won’t work for it though.
Abraço daqui do Brasil 🇧🇷
What software did you use to record? Have you tried the new Final Cut Camera app to record video? Also, like others, I'm curious as to if you used a gimbal, and if so, which one? Finally, did you use the new camera control on the side of the phone for any of the zooms, etc?
I've been watching on and off for a long while. Love the channel. wanted to see what the iphone had to offer. But dude, I love that little alley you go down at 13:30. I don't know the country, I don't know the city and I really wish I could magically know the language, but that little alley is my favorite. So much stuffed in there for food and such. I'm a small usa town person. this is just so foreign to me but it's fascinating. Thanks for putting all this up.
Very impressive video quality overall. This was genuinely shot on an IPhone, as the zooming in sections show, unlike some video on other channels masquerading as IPhone video, which obviously isn't. Zooming in to 5x introduced a little noise, but this was to be expected. I am an Android user who is no fan of iOS, but let's just face facts that IPhone video is the best out there on any mobile device. It is so stable and detailed and enjoyable to watch. Especially at 4K 60. Some Android flagships are catching Apple up however. This must be said.
Yes video boost seems to be better at least in this kind of light conditions. I know it's an iPhone video but have to give a "well done" to Google, for probably delivering the best video quality with a smartphone this year.
I am long time samsung user I always wanted to try iphone but abit scared to switch an not like the outcome but I do love the screen how it's brighter thebmy s24 ultra..... an how u can do much more on samsung I only want igohe for the screen brightness not sure if I should switch wats ur opinion
Really the best video camera for a smartphone. Everything is sharp and the camera recognizes a lot of details, even in brightly lit advertisements. What is really strange, though, are the colors. Some colors are very bright and unnaturally saturated. There is also a kind of gray/yellow filter over the image. In some scenes, when there is a lot of artificial light, the image becomes foggy. Very strange. Apple needs to improve this with the software. Edit: I have to correct myself. It's not Apple's fault. I saw another video from another RUclipsr when he walked through Tokyo at night. Everything is normal there, as it should be. So it's probably down to your post-production and settings. It somehow ruins the whole picture and the actual clarity and color fidelity of the iPhone.
In the description it has a full frame DSLR listed but the title says IPhone 16 & there’s no information on which external device was used, in order to record 4k@60fps HDR an external device is needed for iPhones.

I presume a laminating factor would be storage between iPhone vs Pixel if your video out and about all day but keeps these type of videos coming 🫡
Iphone ufo still there 😢😢😢

Hello
Wonderful relaxing video. Thank you for taking me along. Cheers!
Omg this is insane, very good video quality ❤😊
Interesting watching this before RUclips processes the HDR. Standard SDR looks way too dim now.
Looked like one of the Russo Marvel movies. Flat and grey, just raw data without any color grade applied.
I was like sheesh this footage looks awful but then I remembered that Firefox can't display HDR
HDR still not showing on my phone. How long does it take to process?

Amazing! So high quality!
I’m stoned, watching this video and I couldn’t believe how real this experience felt. Thank you.

it looks as if its real life and im walking down the street here. very awesome!!!
i love this .. its not the end of the year year yet, but still its my best video of the year 2024! thank you
Excellent photography
this is a really relaxing ambience video to play in the background while cooking or organizing things. thank you!
The colors are a bit flat, almost pastel in less bright conditions.
A tiny bit more Vibrance/saturation could be the solution.
Think that’s just bc of the telephoto having less contrast and wide angle but that rlly bc of the higher aperture but considering that it looks rlly good for night time
Amazing Quality❤❤❤
Such a nice vlog, very relaxing, and amazing views! Thank you!
Im so glad you made an iPhone video again 😄
28:19 impressive zoom! Also the sound in this video sounds great on my AirPod Pro 2s.
I’m a pro tv producer and I agree with you. Amazing zoom. Excellent sound separation. All in a tiny iPhone. !!! Unreal. 👍
I Love JAPAN ❤ and Greetings from ARGENTINA 🇦🇷

Great video, thanks for sharing! I love the alleyways full of tiny bars and restaurants. 🤗
wow so FAST!
Wow actually really good quality amazing what the new phone is capable of

No light flickering. Most videos at night would be unwatchable with the flickering all around! Quality is good too.
This video is amazingly clear
It can be tweaked with halos, darkness and balance but not bad, cleaning lenses may be needed more often? Looking forward to daytime and other takes for your posts
Were you using a gimbal? Also can explain were you shooting using external ssd? For log?
He had to use external memory, just 12 seconds in LOG consumes 1g 💀
Beautiful city and great watching HDR experience. Thank u. 👍🏻

Amazing phone camera 👍
A qualidade esta incrível! Surreal.
A suavidade na transição das lentes dos Iphones é surreal
it's very cinematic thanks

wow very nice, but pixel 9 is also very good, in terms of stabilty alone i think the iphone is the clear winner
Yeah I watched both to compare and I would say people's skin tone at least on my TV screen looked a little unnatural on the iPhone
@@neovalkyragreed. Watching on my TV and tones look very washed out.
Hands down to all iPhone haters let’s admit iPhone has improved in camera catching up to Samsung

my company only gives you 40% of the original price.
Your arguments only holds for people who sell the phone not me and many who can afford.
It's truly like an action camera, no smartphone can match the video quality.

Great video VJ - Thanks!!
Great job, buddy 👍
I have 15 pro max, and I think the camera is the same
The best camera quality I have seen on a phone. Wow!
Apple really needs to get rid of those ghosting flares.
Other than that the quality is insane.
Sony Xperia 1 VI is Always a Game Changer Phone Awesome Camera Specs ❤
Espectacular!!
Love watching these! One request, can you do a demo of spatial video and upload as 3d video? Would love to see it!
Wow amazing what gimble did you use ?
非常nice

What external device did you record to ????
very good quality, enough for most camera usage
very impressive really, kindof worth paying for camera only
Pro Res is just amazing
HDR 🔥
Your better SONY FX3 ..is qualitatively superior .. .😊..please use it again .thx...
Good, next time try cinematic mode photography and cinematic sound.
For a phone camera, the zoom is really astonishing.
There is no medicine for the camera
Was this the primary lens or the ultra wide?
15 pm and 16 pm are the best in terms of zoom and low light, worth it to buy
Did you do any fixing on the lens flare? A barely could see any
Is it less lens flare using ProRes 4K HDR over 4K HDR?
I notice very little iPhone 16 pro lens flare in your video
wow just standard setting ? or in pro mode ? the video is actually very nice
What kinda of gimbal did you use ?? Thank you in advance
sheesh looking crispy
