  • In early June, David and I set our sights on a long-standing entry on our to do list: the Middle Fork of Saguache Creek. Having scouted this one on Google Earth for a number of years, and with flows still just barely holding on, we set out early on a Sunday to go check it out.
What followed was a simple and classic mis-adventure, and needless to say, we didn't end up paddling very much. I will let the movie tell the story. Huge thanks to David for being a good sport about this one.

Looks like a good time! If you don't mind me asking, what road did you take to access this portion of the creek? I really want to explore this area.

Theres only two ways into this area, from the north from Cochetopa Creek over the hill, or from the east via Moon Pass and the Hat Creek Road.

@@ericbreden7585 It's better roads to come in though Cochetopa. You can actually come in from the SE over roads leading from Carnero Pass but they are probably a lot more tough than either of the ways I mentioned above.

@@yetigonecrazy after looking at maps, that's what I was thinking too. Gonna get up there next weekend coming from Albuquerque.

@@ericbreden7585 it's a neat area, definitely off the grid. Don't expect enough water to paddle, it's definitely low season. But we'll worth exploring, it's really pretty up there.
