- The process for applying cashew lacquer similar to the traditional Japanese urushi to a cedar base for my large kanna ban, which is a large flat ground lapping plate used to flatten the backs of chisels and plane blades.
Includes a discussion of the materials needed, and walk through of sanding the base, applying sanding sealer, applying cashew urushi lacquer, and final assembly.
