Bangaarada Manushya (Kannada: ಬಂಗಾರದ ಮನುಷ್ಯ, Golden Man) is a 1972 Indian Kannada language film based on T. K. Rama Rao's novel of same name.[1] Ramarao was known for his crime and detective novels, but this film was a social drama. It was directed by S. Siddalingaiah under the banner Srinidhi Productions. Prior to this, Siddalingaiah had worked with Rajkumar in Mayor Muthanna. It stars Rajkumar and Bharathi. The film was screened for over two years at the States Theatre (now Bhumika Theatre) in Bangalore and was screened for sixty weeks in Chamundeshwari theatre in Mysore, the film Completed one year in many centres and twenty five weeks in every major and minor centre.[2] The movie saw a 25 weeks run when it was re-released in 1988.The film was produced by R. Lakshman and Gopal, the film set new standards in the production design. Breaking away from conventional movie making, the producers preferred an open discussion with the crew and preliminary survey of outdoor shooting venues. While Lakshman was a Kannada activist closely associated with a league of frontline writers such as A.N. Krishna Rao and M.N. Murthy and managing the famous Bharat Talkies on the J.C. Road, Gopal was his close associate with a penchant for cinema. Most of the film was shot in Kalasa village in Chikmagalur district. The music for the film was composed by G. K. Venkatesh. All five songs of the film became hits. Among the five songs, the song "Aagadu Endu Kai Katti Kulithare" became an inspirational song to the people. All the songs were sung by P. Susheela and P. B. Srinivas.The film became the highest grossing Kannada film at the time of its release . Today this film is viewed as a milestone in Rajkumar's career. On the centenary of Indian cinema in April 2013, Forbes included Rajkumar's performance in the film on its list, "25 Greatest Acting Performances of Indian Cinema". The film was remade in Telugu in 1975 as Devudulanti Manishi, starring Krishna.

Among all the Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Bengali, Odia, English, Hindi, German, French, Spanish Film's I have seen, Bangaarada Manushya is undoubtedly the greatest movie I have seen. This is an absolute gem of a movie. Bangaarada Manushya sold 4 Crore 80 Lakh Tickets and is the biggest hit in the history of KFI, adjusted to Inflation this movie grossed 2400 Crores if the Adjusted Selling Price of Ticket in 2020 is 500 ₹ and the film was remade in Telugu as Devudulanti Manishi where Krishna played the lead role. Bangaarada Manushya had a theatrical run of 104 Weeks in States (Bangalore), 60 Weeks in Chamundeshwari (Mysore), one year in six centres and 25 weeks in every major and minor centres. This movie also completed Silver Jubilee upon re-release in Bangalore and 100 Days in many centres in a re-release. In my opinion Bangaarada Manushya is the greatest Film in the history of World Cinema,which is subjective choice but in my opinion this is the greatest movie ever made in terms of quality. It's an outright revolutionary movie made by director Siddalingaih. The story of this movie is about Rajiva (Dr. Rajkumar) taking up farming in order to take care of his elder sister's family, and make her children Keshava (Vajramuni) and Chakrapani (Srinath) educated but Keshava doubts Rajiva's loyality will Rajiva proove his loyality or leave the house forms the crux of the story?Dr. Rajkumar prooves why he is the greatest actor in World Cinema in this Film right from the first scene to climax but the two scenes that would come to any fan's mind is the scene where he takes handful of soil in his hand and prays goddess earth for raising his crops and again in the climax scene when he leaves the house he again takes a handful of soil in his hands and prays goddess earth to take care of his family in his absence cannot be replicated by any actor in the world except Dr. Rajkumar himself and Krishna failed to replicate this two scenes in Telugu version Devudulanti Manishi despite his hard efforts. Dr. Rajkumar has lived the role as Rajiva in Bangaarada Manushya and wins every fan's heart with his extraordinary performance there is simply no one who is a match to him. I don't think even Arnold Schwarzengger or Silver Stallen would be able to replicate Dr. Rajkumar's performance as Rajiva. If India had great technology in 1970s Dr. Rajkumar can do many Terminator kinds of Film's in Kannada but can Schwarzengger make Film's like Bangaarada Manushya?Probably not. This Film is a gem in everything whether it's acting, direction, cinematography,editing or screenplay it's completely perfect movie. There simply exists no flaw in this movie I have never seen such kind of extraordinary movie like Bangaarada Manushya in the past or will neither get to see a movie like that in the future. This Film in my opinion is much above an Oscar award too. Story in this movie is very simple and is presented neatly to the audience. All the actors Dr. Rajkumar, Bharathi Vishnuvardan, T.N. Balakrishna, Vajramuni, Lokhnath, Kala, Advani Lakshmi Devi, Joker Shyam, MP Shankar and all the actors were extraordinary. All the songs of this movie Nagu Nagutha Nali, Aagadhu Endu, Aaha Mysooru Mallige, Hani Hani Goodidre and Balla Bangara are evergreen songs out of which my personal favourite is Nagu Nagutha Nali song, In fact Nagu Nagutha Nali song is my all time favourite song. Bangaarada Manushya is my all time favourite movie and personally I have seen this movie more than 1000 times and this is the only movie I have seen more than 1000 times. Dr. Rajkumar's character in this movie as Rajiva, the man with golden heart closely resembles his character in real life too . Bangaarada Manushya is an all time favourite movie among many Dr. Rajkumar fans and even non Dr. Rajkumar fans have highly enjoyed watching this movie. I often wonder why this movie wasn't made into Pan India movie. If you haven't watched this movie watch it soon, and don't miss it, Bangaarada Manushya is definitely a movie you have to see once in a lifetime. Movies like this comes once in a lifetime. I personally rate this movie 10 out of 10 its definitely A* movie there is simply no way i can deduct even half rating to gem movies like Bangaarada Manushya. This movie is like Don Bradman to cricket, the greatest movie of all time atleast for me.

Perhaps, their IQ level is that much!!!
As you said, many and many have seen this masterpiece, though not 1000 times, but atleast for more than 100 times. There can not be another movie like BANGARADA MANUSHYA neither before nor even future also !!!!

@@vashistabhatkainthaje639 yes, what you had commented was both appreciable and knowledgeable. Apart from Dr. Rajkumar sir, I personally enjoyed the films of the 70s,80s and 90s. This is the most favourite film of mine no doubt but the second to this film is the Beladingala Baale film (1995) acted by Anantnag and Suman Nagarkar and directed by Sunil Kumar Desai...it was the best 90s film. I recommend all to see that film.
Recently the film industry is shifting from nepotism and starkids factory to a new place. And hats off to the makers of ACT 1978 Kannada film, which addresses the faulty government and it's broken system and it was the second Kannada hostage crime cinema only after the famous Nishkarsha film, acted by Dr. Vishnuvardhan sir in 1993. Bollywood Is also slightly changing, because of the release of SCAM 1992, which is a film of heavy value compared to other nepotistic films of the recent years...
